Congratulations to Fetty Wap, who not only won last week’s The Boombox Battle with an overwhelming 74 percent of the fan vote against Lil Wayne, but he also becomes the next artist to enter The Boombox Battle Hall of Fame.
With Fetty’s induction into the Hall of Fame, we now have two new artists and songs for this week. Since we’ve been on a hip-hop kick as of late, now R&B deserves it’s time to shine.
First up, we have singer LeToya Luckett. Her latest track, ‘Together,’ is more than just a well-crafted ballad. Inspired by the recent protests and demonstrations throughout the U.S., she sings about change and looking for peace. The piano-driven mid-tempo tune is filled with emotion, not one of despair but inspiration to rally and make the world a better place.
“This song speaks to me in so many ways. I hope it provokes change in you in a time where we’re in need of unity, there is division. In a time where we need peace, I feel as if we are taking a step back from all that we have already accomplished in our history. People spend more time spreading hate and breaking others down instead of acting out of love and building each other up. How dare I not use my voice to encourage change,” she says about the track on her Facebook page.
Competing against LeToya is Rico Love with his new effort, ‘Somebody Else.’ Unlike his opponent’s torch song, this one is about getting over a broken heart. The track, off his upcoming debut album, ‘Turn the Lights On,’ due May 19 via Division1/Interscope Records, hits home for anyone who’s trying to move on but can’t seem to forget about the love that they lost.
“When I see your face I start to break / I love you babe, it’s hard to keep staying strong / ‘Cause it’s take strength to keep from crying, wish I knew how to not hold on,” he sings.
Who will win the battle this week? Will LeToya’s rally song inspire fans to vote? Or will Rico Love’s introspective track get him the votes? Now it’s your turn to decide. Go vote for your favorite song in the poll below. Remember, you can vote once per hour until the poll closes on Tues., Jan. 27, at 10AM ET.

Rules of The Boombox Battle
Two artists and their respective songs compete against each other each week. The triumphant artist goes on to compete in the next The Boombox Battle. If an artist wins The Boombox Battle four times consecutively, their song will be honored in The Boombox Battle Hall of Fame.
