Lil Wayne Freestyles Over ILOVEMAKONNEN's 'Tuesday' [VIDEO]

Without a doubt, Lil Wayne closed out 2014 with a bit of turmoil since he’s been beefing with Cash Money Records for failing to release his long-awaited ‘Tha Carter V’ album. Hut that doesn’t mean he can’t start 2015 off with new music.

In a very brief YouTube clip, Lil Tunechi appears at an indoor skateboarding park. The rapper holds up a magazine and seems to be smoking a blunt as the ILOVEMAKONNEN‘s ubiquitous cut ‘Tuesday’ serves as the soundtrack. Weezy freestyles, delivering lyrics about women.

“These are bitches, my alphabet bitches, these are my bitches, my alphabet bitches,” Weezy sings with a touch of Auto-Tune.

Despite his recent career troubles, the 32-year-old seems to be in good spirits in the clip, as he smiles and bops around looking content.

Jazmine Sullivan Covers Whitney Houston's Classic 'I Have Nothing' [VIDEO]

It’s one thing to do a cover song and it’s quite another to take on the gigantic feat of covering a Whitney Houston song. Philadelphia native Jazmine Sullivan takes on the lofty challenge with her rendition of the singer’s classic ‘I Have Nothing.’

Jazmine soars on this beautiful rendition for Vibe’s V Sessions. Fans of Whitney will remember ‘I Have Nothing’ as the third single from 1993′s ‘The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album.’

The deeply emotional ballad has been covered by a variety of well known chanteuses including Ariana Grande at the White House to Leona Lewis on ‘The X Factor’ and a tween Christina Aguilera on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’ (with some help from Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears).

How do you think Jazmine’s cover stands up? Watch the songstress in action above.

Nike Air Max 'Kabutomushi' Pack

Overkill

Nike tends to find inspiration in some interesting places and this latest crop of Air Max is no different. The shoes take a style cue from the powerful Japanese rhinoceros beetle for a very eye-catching new look.

The brand dug into their own archives to revisit 2008′s Kabutomushi theme and came up with three looks that include a Nike Lunar Max 90, Nike Lunar Max 1 and Nike Air Max 95. Each shoe is treated with silver safari print and a mix of vibrant oranges and blues that mimic the feel of the insect’s exoskeleton. The use of colorblocking conveys the message of strength and beauty really well and leaves behind three must-have models.

If you need a bugged out new look for your collection, the Nike Air Max ‘Kabutomushi’ Pack is available now at select retailers including Overkill.

Meek Mill Previews a Few New Songs Since Release from Prison [VIDEO]

Fresh out of jail, Meek Mill is eager to pick up where he left off and reclaim his position as one of the game’s most respected MCs, which is evident in the new songs that he previewed from a recent studio session.

Whether the tracks are for his next album, ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money,’ is unclear, but either way, they all sound strong and contain the rapper’s signature high-pitched and high-octave flow.

On one of the songs, it seems that Meek is recounting his days behind bars, and he doesn’t spare much detail about how hard it was for him. “You ever wash out your drawers in the same water you s— / Doing your push ups right on the floor where you piss,” he rhymes over a slow, menacing beat.

Another cut finds the MMG spitter rapping fast over an uptempo track, with heavy bass and bell chimes. “I see these haters look at me like I owe something / You looking mad I’ll probably throw you something / I see you flexing with that money and I know you frontin’ / I caught cases never told you nothing,” he spits, performing each song on camera.

The third snippet sounds bigger than the first two, complete with hard drums and a choir for a dramatic feel.

If people weren’t excited for Meek’s new album before, they certainly should be now. This may be some of the Philly native’s best work yet.

Common and John Legend Perform 'Glory' on 'Good Morning America' [VIDEO]

If there’s any two people who can craft an inspirational freedom-fighter song, it’s Common and John Legend, as they’ve practically made careers out of creating music with substance.

The two expanded on that approach on ‘Good Morning America’ today (Jan. 5) while performing ‘Glory,’ the title song from the Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic ‘Selma.’

Dressed in black suits and looking ultra classy, both G.O.O.D. Music affiliates performed the song perfectly. They were backed by violin players and three back-up singers. Com rapped passionately, but took his time to enunciate every word clearly, while the ‘All of Me’ singer played the piano and belted out his lines with a husky delivery.

After being released in December, ‘Glory’ has been very well-received, even picking up a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song, which obviously pleased both artists since the song means a lot to them.

“I don’t even know if I can express how excited I am to be nominated for a Golden Globe alongside John Legend for our song ‘Glory,’ said the ‘Nobody’s Smiling’ creator in a statement.

“To be here with John Legend, whom I love and respect so much, makes the moment even more meaningful. We created ‘Glory’ from our hearts and being a part of Selma has been a life changing experience.”

Watch the esteemed artists unite for ‘Glory’ above.

WHIZ Limited x Mita x Reebok Instapump Fury

Mita

Socks and sandals are typically considered an eyesore, but WHIZ Limited and Mita have decided to turn the garish trend in vogue. With the Reebok Instapump Fury as the base of inspiration, they’ve crafted a shoe that almost makes the look feel native.

For this iteration of the runner, the sockliner is literally a sock and it appears in a light blue knit contrasted by a navy inflatable cage. Red accents spice up the look and a flag flanks the heel while graphic embroidery lies on the pull-tab as well. While we wouldn’t usually consider wearing socks and sandals, it’s done well enough here to make an exception.

No word on when they’ll make it to the U.S., but if you’d like to keep things cozy, these are available now exclusively at Mita.

Rita Ora Remakes Beyonce's '7/11′ Video While on Vacation in St. Barts

Rita Ora is a member of the Roc Nation family, so it’s no surprise she is a fan of the head honcho Jay Z’s first lady, Beyonce.

While vacationing in St. Barts for the holidays, the songstress recreated her own yacht version of Queen Bey’s ‘7/11’ music video.

While Bey’s club banger plays, Rita documents her trip in the almost two-minute long time-lapsed home video. She starts the journey descending from a jet plane (catch that Tommy Hilfiger logo branded on the side), getting all up in the camera for good measure.

She and a friend, who also stars in the hilarious visuals, are seen in various scenes — edited to the beat — dancing on the boat deck with inflatable water toys, jet skiing and acting a fool.

The British entertainer, who has a role in the upcoming film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ even has her own “clap it” scene in a narrow hallway on the boat. The crew also gets in on the fun, laughing as they line up to throw their hands up in the air at Beyonce’s request.

Towards the end of the clip, Rita and friends dress up — presumably in their New Year’s Eve attire — and engage in an awesome pillow fight. What follows is a sign-off featuring the ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ singer donning 2015 glasses and blowing a kiss.

Looks like Rita brought in the New Year with a bang.
