50 Cent Speaks On Unreleased Lil Boosie Collaboration (@BOOSIEOFFICIAL @50Cent)

In an interview with VIBE, 50 Cent spoke on his nostalgic sound, reestablishing his career, and an unreleased Lil Boosie collabo.

With Animal Ambition's release ready for the summer, 50 says he wants fans to be excited about him bringing back his original sound back prior to "Candy Shop" and pop collabos.

"I wanted to do things that made you go, 'Oh, the old 50 is back,'" the rapper said. "I'm going to give it to you as raw as possible."

He also spoke about a song recorded with Lil Boosie a few years ago. The rapper says he isn't sure if the song was completed, but is open to working on it with Boosie.

"Boosie had an idea that we were doing together and I'm not sure if I ever got back his vocals on it," he said. "Because right after, he was charged with murder and then that sh** just got out of hand. I got to get up with him. He tried to reach out to me as soon as he got out but I was travelling and had so much sh** going on. I'll give him a call this week. I haven't had a chance to finish [the song] but possibly you can hear something from me and Lil Boosie. I'd like to get something going with him. I don't know what was going on with that situation, all I know is at the time I wanted to work with him."

Nick Cannon's White Face Character Sparks Racial Debate (@NickCannon)

Nick Cannon ignited a racial debate earlier today after the funnyman posted pics of himself in whiteface as his white alter-ago 'Connor Smallnut.'

Cannon, who was inspired by Robert Downey Jr's Kirk Lazarus/Sgt. Osiris blackface character from the film Tropic Thunder announced that his new album White People Party Music will be released on April 1.

Fans however, weren't so happy at Cannon's new character. The actor received mixed reviews on the character, with some believing that the actor's character is offensive and slightly racist.

Cannon vented to followers on Twitter and seemed to be surprised about the backlash.

"Damn I didn't know it was going to be this hard being White! ... I'm exhausted with all this "privilege" LOL #WhitePeopleProblems"

Check out some photos of 'Connor Smallnut' above. Do you think it's offensive or funny?

The Infamous Mobb DeepInfamous Records In celebration of the 20th anniversary of their classic 1995 album ‘The Infamous,’ Mobb Deep is releasing a two-disc retrospective ‘The Infamous Mobb Deep’ on April 1. On Tuesday (March 25), the Queensbridge duo made it available for streaming on Pandora.

The collection boasts a digitally-remastered version of ‘The Infamous’ album including outtakes and lost verses from the 1994 recording session. But the real highlight on the project is the album’s worth of new material and unreleased tracks. It all sounds fantastic!

The album features guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, the LOX, Mack Wilds, Bun B, Juicy J, Busta Rhymes, French Montana and Nas.

Mobb Deep are still in rare form on the ‘Infamous Mobb Deep.’ Some of the standout tracks on the collection include ‘Murdera,’ in which Havoc and Prodigy spit grimy bars over a concrete-breaking beat. On the anthemic ‘Legendary,’ the rap duo reflect on being survivors of the mean streets of Queensbridge as well as the rap game.

Prodigy raps: “It’s not an urban myth / No, we are the truth / If anybody gonna do it know we gonna’ do / Whole life we grind so hard to stay official / And make them n—-s hating back there, bring them some tissue.”

In addition, the 1994 Infamous Sessions feature songs that didn’t make the final cut on ‘The Infamous’ album. The scapped verses from Raekwon and Ghostface are now featured on ‘Eye for an Eye.’ Songs like ‘The Money’ and ‘Get It in Blood’ that were not on the original album are now remastered for your listening pleasure.

In the end, if you are a true Mobb Deep fan this album is a must buy.

It’s amazing that 20 years later, Mobb Deep has released another classic album with their ‘The Infamous Mobb Deep’ retrospective.

Bodega Bamz and French Montana Celebrate Mexican Style in 'Don Francisco (Remix)' Video

It’s a New York affair in the visual for Bodega Bamz‘s ‘Don Francisco (Remix).’ The Spanish Harlem, N.Y., native enlists French Montana and a host of guest stars like A$AP Ferg and Chinx Drugz for the video.

The clip is infused with Mexican flair, including a mariachi band and imagery reminiscent of Dia de los Muertos. If you’ve ever wondered what a Coke Boyz Mexican fiesta could look like, this visual is it.

‘Don Francisco’ is a song featured on Bamz’s ‘Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.Z.’ mixtape. The remix initially debuted in January.

“You could put this s— on at a Dominican baby shower,” he told Fader about the effort. “I wanna get rich, but money’s not important, because I’ve survived being broke. I got women before music and I know how to dress without music, so I don’t need none of that s—. I’m doing this for the legacy. I need me and my brother’s name to be on the street corner in East Harlem. I need to have a mural.”

Earlier this month, the Tanboys leader joined Common, Big Boi, Wale and more for ‘Catch the Throne: The Mixtape,’ an effort created to promote the new season of the hit TV show ‘Game of Thrones.’ Bodega Bamz is featured on the track ‘Win or Die.’

Kanye Buys Kim 10 Burger Kings as Wedding Gift (@kimkardashian @kanyewest)

What do you get a woman who already has it all? A chain of fast food eateries, apparently.

According to the Daily Star newspaper, Kanye West is buying bride-to-be Kim Kardashian 10 Burger King restaurants throughout Europe as a wedding gift. Yeezy's not new to the restaurant game -- he owns several Fatburger bistros in Chicago already.

"As always, Kanye is thinking outside the box when it comes to gifts for Kim," a source told the newspaper.

''She owns all the jewels anyone could ever want, so he is taking the practical route by investing in businesses for her instead.

''He knows the fast food industry is reliable and lucrative, plus BK is international so he thinks it's the perfect fit for Kim.

''Kanye wants to buy her 10 restaurants across the UK, Italy and France, making her a real international businesswoman.''

The couple are reportedly set to get married in Paris on May 24.

Locksmith Takes Wack Rappers to the 'Wood Chipper' in New Video

Locksmith has no time for wack rappers. The lyrical assassin takes aim at the lack of talent he sees in the rap game today for his new ‘Wood Chipper’ freestyle video. This is the latest in a series of freestyles Lock has been releasing as fans wait for his new album to drop next month.

Lock comes out firing on ‘Wood Chipper’ as he raps, “Every cloud has a silver lining / but every Soundcloud has a clown pretending he found a niche in rhyming / who couldn’t use improvement / but since when did Internet access and web address become a movement?”

Locksmith’s much anticipated album ‘A Thousand Cuts’ drops on Apr. 15. And for those who want to get a hold of it the minute it drops, you can pre-order the LP right now on iTunes.

YC the Cynic Recruits Homeboy Sandman for 'The Heaviest Cross 2.0′

YC The Cynic’s ‘The Heaviest Cross’ was one of the standout songs from his excellent album ‘GNK’ that dropped last August. But now, YC has made the track even better by adding Homeboy Sandman to the mix and crafting some new verses himself for the remix ‘The Heaviest Cross 2.0′ produced by Frank Drake.

The two New York-bred rhymers reflect on the crosses they have to bear in their respective lives over a bombastic production by the aforementioned Frank Drake. YC rhymes, “Cynic’s so nice, what a bright anomaly / throw a fist up, try to fight the cavalry / damn, who’ll be the sacrifice in the three days come back to life / a the new savior and king in this afterlife / accept fate, do the same damn thing and sleep fast a night.”

Make sure you pick up YC The Cynic’s ‘GNK’ album, which features the original version of this song, right now at his official Bandcamp page.

Lil Za's Felony Vandalism Charge Reduced to Misdemeanor (@lilza)

Lil Za can breathe a little easier, because according to TMZ his felony vandalism charge for breaking a jailhouse phone will be reduced to a misdemeanor.

The rapper was taken into custody in January when cops found Ecstasy during a raid of Justin Bieber's home over the egging incident. It's unclear why Za went down while no one else did. He was taken to jail and while there he destroyed the jail phone, resulting in the cops hitting him with a felony vandalism charge.

The L.A. County D.A. has agreed to reduce the charge to misdemeanor, however, because the phone was worth less than $400, and under the law, anything worth less than that amount is a misdemeanor.

TMZ reports that Za's drug charge will likely be erased from his record if he pleads guilty, completes a drug education course, and stays out of trouble for a year.

Man Learns That Taunting Cops w/ Weed on Instagram Is Bad Idea

A 30-year-old South Carolina man discovered the hard way that flipping off the local sheriff while holding a blunt and then posting the pic to Instagram may not be a wise decision.

Jeremy Clayton kicked off a fateful chain of events after posting a photo on the site, which appears to show a hand holding a half-smoked joint and flipping off an online photo of Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott.

A concerned citizen sent the photo to Sheriff Lott, who then put his Drug Suppression Team on the case.

Undercover deputies successfully purchased marijuana from Clayton on three separate occasions. When police busted down Clayton's door, they arrested him and 24-year-old Margaret Rogers.

Clayton was charged with distribution of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute, and Rogers was charged with possession.

Clayton makes no secret about his love of herb. His Instagram and Facebook pages are loaded with pics of him smoking weed and showing it off for the camera.

Kevin Gates – 'By Any Means' [Album Review]

The star of Kevin Gates is certainly on the rise. While many listeners are just getting to know the artist, Gates is no rookie. Gates became somewhat of a local sensation in Baton Rouge, LA not long after he burst onto the scene in 2007. His mixtapes ‘All or Nothin’ and its sequel ‘All In’ spiked his popularity in Baton Rouge as each showcased his unique sing-song flow and lyrical ability in the midst of a rap scene that had been dominated by ‘jig’ music.

Legal troubles seemed to derail Gates’ momentum as he found himself in jail for a 3-year stint before being released in 2011. But much like fellow Baton Rouge rapper Lil’ Boosie, his time locked up added to his lore. His buzz began to transform him from a popular local artist to a regional star. Lil’ Wayne eventually caught wind of Gates and not long after he was being managed by Young Money. That partnership would fizzle, but it did much to raise Gates’ profile.

The past two years marked Gates’ true breakout as he gained national attention and major rap outlets truly took notice of him. Projects like 2012’s ‘Make ‘Em Believe’ and last year’s ‘The Luca Brasi Story’ brought him critical recognition and more widespread publicity. Gates is still in the unique spot of truly proving himself to this larger audience, but his latest effort ‘By Any Means’ should go a long way in solidifying his status in the rap game.

The opening salvo ‘Wish I Had It’ is a perfect introduction to the dichotomy of Kevin Gates. While his style is very conducive to today’s popular rap, but he completely objects to the notion and voices his disdain for those chasing hits. He rhymes, “Out the streets, they in the streets, all I can do is be me / with Flo-Rida, nothing in common, I’m not a B.o.B.”

Listen to Kevin Gates’ ‘Wish I Had It’

Gates’ sing-song flow, which is more reminiscent of Z-Ro than it is Future or Rich Homie Quan, can make the most brutal of topics sound pleasant. There’s no better example than ‘Homicide’ where the melodic hook can take your mind in completely different direction from the subject at hand. But Gates manages to bring the listener back to reality with a ferocious delivery in each verse.

The 2 Chainz-assisted ‘Bet I’m On It’ has potential to be a hit with a hypnotic beat courtesy of The Honorable C-Note. The 2 Chainz hook is tailor-made for club play, but Gates delivers an outstanding verse as well. He raps, “Hustle real hard, never made it with a sport / five hundred four grams and you never woulda thought / 18 ounces, made it with a fork / loved in the hood, but I’m hated on the court / when the ball hit the rim, that’s a miss / come to think about it, wait, that’s some bricks / 300 eight-balls coming, no assists / aw, here we go again, mind on dope again.”

‘Get Up On My Level’ is the most endearing moment of the album as Gates addresses some local beef, specifically with his former Dead Game Records boss and mentor Travis. Gates is not on the attack here as he expresses disappointment and forgiveness. Gates laments, “Came out of prison pursuing my dream, now everybody mad at me / I ain’t never tried to diss y’all, all I did was tell the truth.”

Listen to Kevin Gates’ ‘Get Up On My Level’

The project is not without its missteps. ‘Amnesia’ featuring the late Doe B makes Gates seem like a guest on his own song. The generic performance of Doe B brings down the track despite Gates’ best efforts to reinvigorate the song with his verse. Gates’ beat selection also does not provide much variety. While the quality of production is quite good, it does little to differentiate Gates from the thousands of other trap rappers.

‘Posed To Be In Love’ is a ridiculous song which is essentially an ode to domestic violence. Again, Gates’ style and penchant for catchy hooks can almost make you gloss over the content if you aren’t paying close attention. But when he drops lines like, “Throw the left hand, you duck down, but this right bitch, it won’t miss you / Beat a bitch like Chris Brown, go back to jail, no quitting” it brings the proceedings to a crashing halt. It seems quite appropriate that Gates leads off with declaration “Own up to your bullshit” on the following track ‘Stop Lyin’.

While it has its faults, ‘By Any Means’ is a good introduction for new Kevin Gates listeners and a satisfying addition to his catalog for longtime fans. There are moments of pure brilliance here that show why Gates is entirely capable of being one of rap’s top artists. ‘Stranger Than Fiction’ remains his most complete work to date, but ‘By Any Means’ keeps the momentum rolling for Kevin Gates.

Diddy Changes Name to Puff Daddy for 'MMM' Album

Diddy is the master of name changes and has called himself everything from P. Diddy and Puffy to Sean Combs during his career. The Bad Boy head is going back to his roots and announces that he’s now going by his original stage name, Puff Daddy.

The hip-hop mogul will use his old handle just in time for his new album. According to Radio.com, Puff is working on his forthcoming ‘MMM’ project. The effort currently has no release date.

The rapper-producer recently released a visual teaser for his track ‘Big Homie,’ a song featured on his upcoming LP. In typical Puff Daddy fashion, the clip follows the mogul as he strolls through a supermarket and shows off a massive fur coat while cruising around in a luxury whip. The track features French Montana and Rick Ross.

‘MMM’ will serve as the follow-up to the 44-year-old’s 2010 project ‘Last Train to Paris’ — his album with Dirty Money. Puff Daddy’s first LP, ‘No Way Out,’ arrived in 1997. Songs like ‘Victory,’ ‘It’s All About the Benjamins’ and the Notorious B.I.G. farewell ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ were featured on the effort.

Pharrell Williams Talks Oscar Snub, Women With GQ Magazine

Pharrell Williams GQGQ

Pharrell Williams has a lot to be happy about. His new album, ‘G I R L,’ is in stores and his cheerful anthem ‘Happy’ has been infectiously woven into our pop lexicon. And now, Skateboard P graces the cover of the April 2014 issue of GQ magazine.

In his in-depth interview with the men’s fashion bible, the studio maverick talks about race, politics, his infamous buffalo hat and the Oscar snub.

While everyone thought that Williams would take home the coveted Best Song Oscar at the 2014 Academy Awards, he sadly came up empty-handed.

“Well, trust me: when they read the results, my face was… frozen,” he recalls. “But then I thought about it, and I just decided just to… let it go.”

The 40-year-old producer also talked about the skin color controversy over his ‘G I R L’ album cover.

“It doesn’t make sense to me. That kind of divisiveness is not necessary at a time when we’re supposed to be unifying,” P tells the mag. “That’s what happiness is all about…I’m the most indiscriminate person that there is! I believe in equality.”

“Black ain’t a color: black is a spirit, and it is ubiquitous,” he adds. “In fact, there’s more black out in space than there is stars. We have nothing to be insecure about.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Williams believes that Hilary Clinton will be our next president after Barack Obama.

“Let me tell you why Hillary’s going to win,” he explains. “Everywhere you go in this country, you have red and blue. You got the Democrats; you got the Republicans. You got the Bloods; you got the Crips. You know what else is red and blue? Blood. Blood is blue in your body until air hits it, and then it turns red. That means there’s unity. There’s gonna be unity.”

“Hillary’s gonna win,” he continues. “Listen, I’m reaching out to her right now. She’s gonna win.”

He also has some choice words for the Tea Party and talks about his buffalo hat. “Anything different, people are going to look at and go, ‘Ha ha ha ha, what is that?’” he states.

Finally, Williams says that he doesn’t want to be categorized for some of the musical and charitable things he has done in pop culture.

“I’m not a renaissance man. What I am is a maverick, and I don’t want to be put in a box at all,” he says.

The April 2014 issue of GQ magazine — featuring the maverick Pharrell Williams — will hit newsstands this week.

50 Cent Soars to New Heights in 'Pilot' Video

Less than a day after releasing his new song ‘Pilot,’ 50 Cent delivers the visual to go along with it, and unsurprisingly, it takes on a high-flying theme.

Directed by Eif Rivera, who’s worked with Fif on videos for ‘We Up’ and ‘Major Distribution,’ the rapper takes on the role as a pilot who’s flying a private plane filled with women in formal wear ready to party it up.

50 proves that he’s the man and just how much the ladies love him with all his designer goods and luxuries — there’s free-flowing bubbly and dancing all around. The Queens, N.Y., native does get out of the uniform to wear some pricey threads and mingle with the passengers.

“Me I’m like a pilot / G5 jet I’m fly s— / You cannot deny it / Oh no, no no no no / Bitches be on my d— / Designer threads I’m fly s— / You cannot deny it / Oh no, no no no no,” he raps on the chorus.

‘Pilot,’ produced by Shamtrax, is off 50 Cent’s upcoming album, ‘Animal Ambition,’ out June 3.

Mike Will Made It Wants To Develop A New Sound (@MikeWiLLMadeIt‎)

Producer Mike Will Made It plans to make this year just as big as his last.

In an interview with XXL, the producer talked about working with Miley Cyrus on her huge comeback, his record label Eardrumma Records and creating a new sound.

The "23" producer named Miley Cyrus' Bangerz as his biggest accomplishment of last year.

"I would say executive producing my first project, working on Miley Cyrus' album," he said. "Even to see all of the songs that me and Miley worked on last year turning into a whole tour. That's she's killin' and that's being sold out every night. Actually being able to go to the shows and seeing the crowd just stand up on they feet the whole time, singing all the songs and loving the songs like that."

Now that his clientele has pushed passed Hip Hop and R&b acts, Mike wants to develop a new sound that will change the way people judge his catalog.

"Continuing to produce different records for different people that I'm working with," he said. Coming up with a new sound and having people excited about those songs like they have been previously. I feel like I'm in a different space, because I've done so much previously with my songs and things like that. Since I set the bar so high, I gotta make sure I'm following up. It's like, this year isn't really about having a whole slew of things that's all over the place, because I've already done that. Now it's time for quality over quantity. Well, it was never quantity over quality, it was quality and quantity at the same time."
