Chris Brown vs. Estelle — The Boombox Battle
Chris Brown continues his reign by winning The Boombox Battle this week. With less than a 10 percent margin, the singer squeezed passed Eric Bellinger’s ‘Awkward’ featuring Game.
The ‘X’ creator’s new song, ‘Autumn Leaves’ features Kendrick Lamar, who speeds through his verse in a breathy and lighter voice. Brown sings about a relationship that isn’t working out. Using natural metaphors in his lyrics, he sounds emotional over the synthy R&B melody.
“I’ve been bleeding in your silence / I feel safer in your violence / I hold on like leaves and fall to what is left / Before I sleep I talk to God / He must be mad with me, it’s coming / I’m confused who’ll I’ll spend my forever with,” Chris sings on the second verse.
While Chris sings about a relationship on the rocks, Estelle, the opponent the new Boombox Battle, sings about making the best out of hard times and moving on in ‘Something Good.’ The upbeat, piano-driven melody brings us back to the dance clubs of the ’90s and will quickly make you want to get to the dance floor.
“I was hurt for so long / Doesn’t matter who was right / Doesn’t matter who was wrong / All that matters is I’m back where I belong,” she sings in the first verse.

After releasing her single, ‘My Main,’ Mila J debuts the visual, which takes us back to the 2000 film ‘Coyote Ugly.’
Directed by Blue Gregory, the video takes us to Club Main where Mila is one of the bartenders. She not only pours the drinks but gives the crowd a show with some fancy foot (and booty work). Unlike the choreography in the movie, this one is a lot more hip-hop-friendly rather than focused on country two-stepping.
There’s more twerking for the booty-obsessed and, just in case you’re not really into those moves, Mila’s showing off her fit body in leather too.
Produced by DJ Mustard, ‘My Main’ finds Mila giving props to a significant other, which in her case seems to be Trey Songz these days. The track features Ty Dolla $ign, who she co-wrote the song with in addition to Mustard and Rock City. He appears in the video as another club-goer who delivers his verse on a velvet couch with Mila grooving by his side.
