The New 52 is a weekly series conceived by HipNott Records/Doxside Music Group emcee MidaZ the BEAST that will run the entire course of 2014. Taking its name from DC Comics’ revamp and relaunch of their superhero books, each installment of The New 52 features a new or rare song from Doxside Music Group artists paired with an original illustration from Benjamin Goraj or DMG comic book artist Gift Revolver.

Rapper Young Scooter opens up about sharing a cell with Gucci Mane, and recalls how they talked about getting out. He also speaks about Gucci not being on his new mixtape, but explains it's because "He's locked up, what's he supposed to do." Scooter adds that he wants to work with Gucci "when the time is right," and he just wants the Lemonade rapper to "focus on his situation right now."

When asked about Gucci's epic Twitter rant ruining relationships that he had with rappers like Waka Flocka and Rocko, Scooter claims that it didn't, because all the rappers that he works with know what kind of person he really is. Scooter adds that he's not worried about beef between Waka and Gucci because he's focused on the success of Black Migo Gang right now.

Two Men Released From Prison After Serving 21 Years In Jail

Antonio Yarbough and Sharrif Wilson, the men who were convicted in the 1992 murder of Yarbough's mother, 12-year old sister, and little cousin were freed after a DNA evidence proved that they were innocent.

In 1992, Yarbough was sentenced to 75 and Wilson 9 years to life in jail over the murders. Now both men int their late 30's spoke to CNN about the ordeal.

Another factor that played into their long prison sentence was Wilson providing a false confession about the crimes in exchange for a shorter prison sentence. In an interview with CNN Wilson says that he was terrified. "I was scared, afraid; I was lied to, manipulated into believing that I was going to go home, if I do tell ... what they said happened." Wilson was only 15 years old and Yarbough 18 at the time of their conviction.

Yarbough says he forgives Wilson and knows that he was manipulated because the same thing happened to him. When asked if he thinks the killer of his family will ever be found, he says that "It is in God's hands now."

Nick Cannon Says 'Drumline 2' Is Coming Out This Year (@NickCannon)

Nick Cannon's popular Drumline film is getting a sequel-right to VH1.

According to Vibe, Cannon was excited to share the big news with fans as he posted a special video on Instagram with the announcement. "Drumline 2. Coming to VH1 this fall."he says. This time around, the film will have a female lead who goes to school in New Orleans. The character, Dani Bolton from Brooklyn will help resurrect a drumline with her special talents.

No word on if Cannon or it's other stars Zoe Saldana and Orlando Jones will have cameos. Cannon with Dallas Austin will produce the film.

Snow Plow Blasts Man Right Off His Feet With Wave of Snow

Some poor sod in Brooklyn was walking along minding his own business when he had his morning ruined after a wall of snow kicked up by a plow literally knocked him off his feet.

The incident was caught by the security cameras of the adjacent car dealership, and the dealer owner said the snow hit with such force it broke the store's glass doors.

Tech N9ne Tackles Bullying in 'Fragile' Video Featuring Kendrick Lamar

Rapper Tech N9ne addresses the social issue of bullying his new video for ‘Fragile,’ which features Kendrick Lamar, ¡MAYDAY! and Kendall Morgan. The song appears on N9ne’s latest album, ‘Something Else.’

Directed by Anthony Devera, the clip features a narrative of a gifted high school violin player who gets bullied by his classmates. As the young man contemplates whether to go back to school, a fellow student helps him pick up the pieces of his fragile situation.

The topical storyline is intermix with N9ne and K.Dot venting their frustrations at music critics who nit-pick their craft. The rap duo spit their fiery lyrics inside an abandoned warehouse as ¡MAYDAY! and Kendall Morgan sing the aching chorus.

In April, Tech N9ne will embark on his massive Independent Grind Tour. The 70-city North American jaunt will start on April 9 in Springfield, Mo., and wrap up with two shows in Missouri on June 27 in Columbia and in Kansas City on June 28.

Man Named Universal Allah Arrested After Stealing Violin

With a name like Universal Knowledge, this guy doesn't know much.Two men were charged this weekend after stealing a violin in broad daylight in January.

According to WISN News 12, 41-year-old Salah Salahadyn and a man named Universal Knowledge Allah were charged with robbery after stealing the Stradivarius violin from Frank Almond outside of Wisconsin Lutheran Community College in Brookfeild, Wisc.

Salah, claims that Allah told it him it was a dream of his to steal the prized violin because it's worth was in the millions. Salah admitted to telling Allah to buy the taser gun used in the robbery. Allah was also charged for marijuana possession.

In a surprise move that will make Beyonce proud, Nike released Kanye West’s Air Yeezy 2 ‘Red October’ on Sunday (Feb. 9) without any warning or fanfare. The rapper-producer’s all-red silhouette is his most sought-after and highly elusive shoe in recent memory.

Priced at $245, the sneakers sold out within 11 minutes. If you copped yourself a pair consider yourself lucky.

Last December, fans went bonkers when it was announced that the Red Octobers were dropping on Dec. 27. A few days later, Nike put the kibosh on the release, disappointing thousands of sneakerheads. This shoe also sparked Yeezy’s angry rants about Nike, which prompted him to leave and sign with competitor Adidas.

Of course, not everyone was able to get the Air Yeezy 2 sneakers. A few hundred fans went on Twitter to express their anger over Nike’s stealthy move with releasing the kicks online.

Paul George's Ex Clowns Him on Twitter for Knocking Up Stripper (@paul_george24 @jennyferdeanne)

Indiana Pacers baller Paul George caused quite the stir earlier this week when news broke that he had allegedly impregnated a Miami stripper named Daniela and then offered her a cool milly to get an abortion. While many were appalled by the allegations, some reveled in the schadenfreude -- possibly none more so than his former boo, Jennyfer.

Tweets and re-tweets from Jennyfer that came after the news broke made it very evident that she has absolutely no sympathy for George, and instead finds the situation quite funny. Check them out above.

In a statement to TMZ Sport, George says if the baby turns out to be his, he'll man up and do the right thing. "If and when there is legal confirmation that I am the father, I will fully embrace my responsibilities. This is a personal matter that is still being sorted out, so I hope you can respect my privacy."

As for the rumor of a million dollar abortion offer, a spokesman for George says it's absolutely false. "There is no truth to the rumors that Paul offered money for [Daniela] not to have the child."

Ma$e Speaks On Almost Slapping J.Cole and His Place In Hip-Hop (@MasonBetha @JColeNC)

Mase is back in Hip-Hop and doesn't mind competing with the younger generation.

In an interview with Detroit's Hot 107.5, the rapper talked about his return to music, his time as a pastor and his issue with J.Cole.

When asked if he's a fan of the new generation of Hip-Hop, the rapper points out a few favorites like Meek Mill, Drake and Kanye West. He also added that he likes J.Cole when the rapper isn't talking about him.

On his platinum album Born Sinner, the Cole mentions the rapper on the track "Forbidden Fruit." "Cause a nigga poppin' like Harlem in the nine-seven/ way before Mase was a reverend." When Ma$e saw Cole, he thought about slapping him but decided to let it go because 'he's just a kid.'

"Ï like J.Cole when he's not taking shots at me. I saw him one say and I was gonna hit him but I was too grown to be knocking light skin people out."he said."But that's my generation. If we see you and you say something on a record, it's action, but when I saw him I thought he's a kid he don't get it."

The rapper also talks about burying the hatchet with Jim Jones and working on new music.

R&B queen Mariah Carey debuted her new single at the 2014 BET Honors, which was being taped Saturday (Feb. 8) at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.

The seventh annual event was being held to salute Aretha Franklin, Berry Gordy, Jr., Ice Cube, the late Nelson Mandela and others for their achievements in their respective fields.

Mimi, who was honored at the 2012 BET Honors, performed her new song ‘You’re Mine, in a black grown that revealed her huge cleavage. Afterward, she was greeted with a big hug from her daughter Monroe.

Other highlights from the event included Aretha Franklin’s granddaughter, Victorie Franklin, performing Tamela Mann’s ‘Take Me to the King’ to honor her grandmother. That was followed by a fantastic tribute by Oscar-winning songbird Jennifer Hudson.

Later, the Queen of Soul, herself, grabbed the mic to perform a powerful song in honor of the late South African president Nelson Mandela.

Elsewhere, rapper/film mogul Ice Cube was presented with his BET Honor by fellow rapper-actor Ludacris who, we must say, cleans up well in his tailored suit.

During Berry Gordy, Jr.’s tribute segment, audiences were treated to a medley of hits from the Motown catalog. Tamar Braxton, dressed in a gorgeous purple dress, sang Diana Ross’ classic song ‘Upside Down.’ Janelle Monae gave an energetic performance of The Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’ and Smokey Robinson performed the tender ballad ‘Tracks of My Tears.’

Overall, it was a great night of black excellence.

“I can NOT lie @bethonors was just about as #EPIC as the BEST NIGht EVER!!,” Tamar tweeted to her fans. “Thank you all @bet [I love] my TV family.”

The 2014 BET Honors, with host Wayne Brady, will air on Feb. 24 at 9PM ET.

Was Love and Hip Hop's Mendeecees Released From Prison? (@mandeecees @yandysmith)

The case of Medeecees Harris may be a free man according to recent reports.

The Love and Hip Hop star was arrested in January 2013 and charged with narcotics conspiracy and money laundering. Over the summer, rumors surfaced about Harris facing 20 years in prison and even reports that he was already sentenced. None of the rumors were true as we saw on the past season of LHHNY. Fiance Yandy Smith voiced repeatedly that Harris didn't even have a bail hearing until October.

Now it looks like Harris may have been released quietly sometime last year. Uptown Magazine has reported that his co-defendant Ronald Walker pleaded guilty to the same charges Harris faced and will do 10 years in federal prison. The magazine also noted that since November 2013, no public records were made for Harris and his attorney has stated that Harris isn't in federal custody.

George Zimmerman Fight Against DMX Called Off By Promoter (@DMX)

The celebrity boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX has been canceled by the promoter.

Many people were against the fight from the beginning, but Celebrity Boxing promoter Damon Feldman has had a change of heart over the weekend. According to Reuters, Feldman called off the fight last night via Twitter. He also claims that he had to hire security due to death threats he received in organizing the fight.

Done with George Zimmerman if you had a major payday sitting in front of you, I know no one else would walk away like I did ***Next!!," he tweeted.

He also announced that he would have a special press conference about the decision on Tuesday.

In a separate announcement, DMX's publicist released a statement about the fight, claiming that DMX never agreed to the fight in the first place.

"Damon Feldman has announced that the George Zimmerman fight is cancelled via his Twitter. As previously stated, DMX never agreed to the fight and we thank you for all of the support from DMX's fans. This situation will not affect any of DMX's upcoming concerts in America or around the world."

Petitions created against the fight garnered over 100,000 signatures and a Facebook page received over 300,000 'likes.'
