Robin Thicke Performs 'Forever Love' for Paula Patton at 2014 BET Awards [VIDEO]

Maybe it’ll work, maybe it won’t, but you’ve got to give the guy credit for trying. We’re talking about Robin Thicke‘s 2014 BET Awards performance of his new song ‘Forever Love,’ dedicated to his estranged wife Paula Patton.

Before the singer even played a note on his piano, he gave this quiet and sincere introduction: “Good evening. My name is Robin Thicke,” he said. “I’d like to dedicate this song to my wife, and say, ‘I miss you, and I’m sorry.’ This is called ‘Forever Love.’

And the lyrics aren’t just confined to getting Patton back, they’re also about being there for her no matter how long it takes for her to forgive him.

“If you ever doubt it now, baby, I will be there picking you up. You can lean on me anytime, baby, for anything you want and need… Anytime you need a friend, baby, I will be the one that you want,” he sang in a quieter tone and seemingly more pained than usual.

Thicke also choked up a bit before the song ended, which shows just how difficult it was for him to perform it. Another difference you may have noticed was his overall look. Gone were the flashy striped suits and the cool-looking aviator glasses. There were also no backup dancers, twerking or his usual Hollywood swagger. It’s evident the R&B star only wanted to present the song, nothing else, which is probably the best way to convince Patton that he meant what he was singing.

It’ll be interesting to see if she comments on the song publicly.

Iggy Azalea Performs 'Fancy' and 'No Mediocre' With T.I. at the 2014 BET Awards

Since she’s arguably the hottest rapper of the moment, Iggy Azalea has been all over the place this year, so it’s probably no surprise that she performed at the 2014 B.E.T Awards.

She first jumped on stage with T.I. for his latest single ‘No Mediocre,’ which immediately bled into ‘Fancy.’ During the performance, the lovely lyricist sported a body-hugging all black outfit, complete with sparkly silver kicks. She even showed a little bit of skin with a sexy, but tasteful crop top, as she moved confidently around the stage like a veteran performer.

Iggy’s vocals sounded flawless too, as she ripped through her verses with professional ease, and maintained breath-control, as she simultaneously moved with a stage full of backup dancers.

All and all it was a very strong performance given by the 24 year old, and as far as star presence goes, she held her own with her boss T.I., an impressive feat for a relative new comer.

Lionel Richie Receives Lifetime Achievement Honor at 2014 BET Awards [VIDEO]

Lionel Richie looked a bit choked up after receiving the Lifetime Achievement honor at the 2014 BET Awards Sunday night (June 29), and when John Legend, Ledisi and Yolanda Adams performed some of his hits for a special tribute, the singer was even more touched by their talents.

Legend graced the stage first, as he sat behind the piano and sang The Commodores 1979 hit ‘Still.’ Ledisi performed next, singing an extremely energetic rendition of ‘Brick House,’ which of course got everyone on their feet.

But it was Yolanda Adams who brought the house down with the song ‘Jesus Is Love,’ as she instantly transformed the venue into a Sunday morning service. And the backdrop of the stained glass windows added a nice, spiritual effect as well. Richie then walked onstage to perform The Commodores smash hit ‘Easy’ and his 1983 cut ‘All Night Long,’ which could be the song most associated with the singer-songwriter.

And before accepting his award, the 65-year-old spoke a little about his beginnings in the music industry, while others like Babyface and Quincy Jones shared their thoughts on how much they admire him. Richie also shared his personal musical philosophy.

“Soul is a feeling, not a color,” he said during his acceptance speech. “Talent is a God given gift and not a category. Out of the box is where true talent goes to live, thrive and breath, and may you never give that up as long as your in that business.”

August Alsina Brings Out Trey Songz, Chris Brown During 2014 BET Awards Performance [VIDEO]

August Alsina‘s 2014 BET Awards performance was full of surprises, including the fact the singer put an end to his R&Beef with Trey Songz when he brought the ‘Na Na’ crooner out during his show.

The ‘Testimony’ creator performed a short rendition of his hit ballad ‘Kissin On My Tattoos,’ and then quickly moved into his signature cut ‘I Luv This S—.’ But the biggest surprise of August’s performance was when Trey and Chris Brown entered the stage to help him close out ‘I Luv This S—’, adding some major star power to his set.

Trey was the first to come out, wearing a black leather jacket, baggy black pants and fingerless gloves, as he belted out his portion of the cut in his usual throaty delivery. Breezy then followed with his vocals, dressed in a black-and-white top, shades and sporting a flat-top haircut. He also looked like he gained a little weight during his latest round of legal troubles.

At the song’s end, all three singers joined in the middle of the stage for a dramatic close, which definitely showed unity and togetherness. It’s also likely that Alsina’s stock is on the rise since he won two awards during the ceremony: one for Best New Artist and he also snagged the Viewer’s Choice Award.

Jennifer Hudson Debuts 'It's Your World' at 2014 BET Awards [VIDEO]

Jennifer Hudson normally owns the moment anytime she takes the stage. The 2014 BET Awards was no different. Sporting a sexy leather dress, she performed ‘Walk It Out’ and “It’s Your World’ — a new song from her latest album.

Hudson slowly strut down the walkway as she performed ‘Walk It Out.’ She then suddenly switched into the funky ‘It’s Your World,’ which was supported with live trumpets and roller skaters to complete that disco vibe. There was also a bit of eye candy for the ladies when a muscle man showed off his bare chest.

The songstress recently dropped the video for ‘Walk It Out,’ which features Timbaland.

Chris Brown Returns to the Stage to Perform 'Loyal' at 2014 BET Awards [VIDEO]

Host Chris Rock introduced Chris Brown at the 2014 BET Awards with a hard jab (his last deal was a plea deal, get it?) before he took the stage to perform Sunday night (June 28). That didn’t detract from the singer’s moment though. Brown made his return to the stage to perform ‘Loyal’ with Lil Wayne and Tyga.

‘Loyal’ was a club mainstay while Brown was locked up in prison, so this is a huge moment for him to finally perform the song. Wayne opened up the set before the crooner walked through the smoke onstage, wearing an overly long flannel, and easily excited the crowd as he performed.

He even showed off his signature dance skills with Travis Barker doing a drum solo behind him.

Brown later showed up during August Alsina’s special performance of ‘I Luv This S—,’ in which Trey Songz made an epic appearance.

Usher Performs Medley of Hits at 2014 BET Awards [VIDEO]

Usher‘s upcoming album is definitely anticipated. The 2014 BET Awards reminded viewers of that very fact. The singer has a pretty good track record when it comes to hits.

The lauded R&B veteran performed a medley of his hits for his BET set, including ‘Yeah,’ ‘Confessions’ and his latest single, ‘Good Kisser.’

Even the energetic moves from the backup dancers ensured a raucous reaction from the crowd.

He has more than enough hits, but fans are waiting to see what the crooner has in store next.

John Legend and Jhene Aiko Join Forces to Perform at 2014 BET Awards [VIDEO]

One of the highlights at the 2014 BET Award featured an R&B performance from an artist who’s biggest song is a declaration of love and another whose signature song is about a difficult split. These singers are John Legend and Jhene Aiko.

John Legend sat at the piano and sang ‘You & I (Nobody in the World)’ before he was joined on stage by Jhene. The songstress sang ‘The Worst’ in her signature soft voice with Legend’s powerful vocals periodically backing her up.

Aiko is currently working on her debut album, ‘Souled Out,’ which is due out later this year.

Pharrell Performs 'Come Get It Bae,' Brings Out Missy Elliott at 2014 BET Awards

Like they always do about this time, the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B are taking over Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater for the 2014 BET Awards tonight. Following the usual red carpet routine and pre-party preparations, Pharrell was first to grace the stage and get the night officially started.

Backed by a team of high school cheerleaders and neon-lighted rafters, the Grammy-winning star — wearing a slightly more modest hat than usual — delivered a jiggy performance of his ‘G I R L’ album cut, ‘Come Get It Bae.’ Never without a trick up his sleeve, Skateboard P then brought out fellow Virginia native Missy Elliott, who took it back to 2003 with a performance of her hit single, ‘Pass That Dutch.’

Game Rants About His Daughter on Instagram, Real Dad Responds (@thegame)

Game has been receiving a lot of praise lately since he shared details about his daughter Madison and how he plans to raise her as his own when her father allegedly walked out of her life.

While his ex-fiance, Tiffney Cambridge tried to clear up rumors about his child, Game and Madison's biological father posted responses on instagram. The rapper posted a lengthy note to his critics about Madison, and how he will continue to play the father figure in her life.

"So let's get one thing clear for ALL & EVERYONE that has questions about MY DAUGHTER @daddyslilworld !!!!!!!" he said. "She is my daughter !!! I am her FATHER !!! Doesn't matter if I am biologically her father or if I adopted her or if a father figure was absent in her life the last 9 years of it or not...... What matters is from the moment I laid eyes on her I knew

that WE BOTH we're put into each other's lives for a reason. Her birth father, whomever he might be has been absent from her life since her birth & once I found that out, after already falling in love with her for the months prior to me accepting the role of her FATHER, I immediately had several conversations with her mother (who works very hard for all of her children & doesn't NEED a thing) we agreed that I would take the place as Madison's FATHER. I take the role of FATHER very seriously with my 3 already prior to adding Madison to MY FAMILY so 1 more is nothing more than an easy task & I'm just as excited to have her as she is to have me !!!! She is not the daughter of one of my friends that died as the internet says, nor is her mother struggling or in need of any help raising her children.... The thing is, there was a beautiful sweet girl who was in need of a father & who more perfect than ME ? So with that being said..... @daddyslilworld is MY DAUGHTER & I AM HER FATHER.......NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE THAT !!!!! I will be here for her, @littlemisscali @kingjusticetaylor & @harlemtaylor as long as I breathe & my 4 children will never have to worry about ANYTHING as long as I'm breathing God's good air !!!! & for those haters I see in my & her comments..... Worry bout your OWN kids !!!!! S–t 1/2 y'all need to be worried bout trying to get ya own dead beat as baby daddy's to step up & be 1 tenth of the father I am to my kids..... One thing is fasho, your opinion is NOT going to change the fact that I will be Madison's father FOREVER !!!!! That's my baby girl.... Get used to seeing her..... Sincerely, her FATHER !!!!!"

While Game claims that Madison's father is never around, a man claiming to be the child's father responded by posting a few photos of the two at the park with his other children dated no more than a few months ago.

Broadway Resurrects Tupac Shakur With 'Holler If Ya Hear Me' [EXCLUSIVE]

Holler If Ya Hear MeHoller If Ya Hear Me

Nearly 20 years have passed since Tupac Shakur‘s murder on the Las Vegas strip, but even though he’s gone physically, the rapper is being brought to life — at least through his music — with the Broadway play ‘Holler If Ya Hear Me.’

With more than 10 posthumous albums, more than five post-death documentaries and three books of poetry, the New York-born, California-bred hip-hop icon has personified the meaning of being the rose that grew from concrete. From his roles on television to his thought-provoking performances in film and 30 million-plus album sold, Tupac has done it all, but now, he can add Broadway to the growing list.

New York’s famed Broadway Theatre conglomerate recently announced its latest addition to the upcoming season’s musical lineup, and to the surprise of many, Tupac’s name was on the docket. The legendary theatrical strip wasted no time in opening doors to New York City’s Palace Theatre, located in the heart of Times Square, to feature ‘Holler If Ya Hear Me.’ Many were eager to hear audience reviews of how the late rap star would be incorporated into a Broadway show.

Similar to any upscale theater showing, hip-hop fans and those in the theater circuit stood in line waiting to enter the Palace doors. As people were seated, others patiently waited for the house lights to dim and a voice or silhouette to appear onstage. As soon as the theater faded to black, famed poet-writer-actor Saul Williams — known for his roles on ‘Girlfriends,’ ‘K-Pax’ and ‘Lackawana Blue’ — began to rap lyrics from ‘Pac’s ‘My Block’ to open the show.

Contrary to general assumptions regarding the show’s premise and theme, Broadway’s ‘Holler If Ya Hear Me’ is not a biographical story of Tupac’s life told through song. The two-hour-and-20-minute show is actually a musical inspired by Tupac’s music and the stories he shared through his lyrics over the years. In fact, the only piece of the musical that is reflective of the West Coast MC’s life is the mother, Mrs. Weston, played by Tonya Pinkins who, like Afeni Shakur, is a recovering drug addict trying to keep her sons from making her same mistakes.

The play uses songs like ‘Life Goes On,’ ‘I Get Around,’ ‘Keep Ya Head Up,’ ‘Dear Mama’ and of course ‘Holler If Ya Hear Me’ to help the actors depict the struggles of gang violence, drug addiction, incarceration and unwanted death to portray the lives Tupac readily described when putting pen to paper or rapped his lyrics.

Holler If Ya Hear MeHoller If Ya Hear Me

The play tells the story of John (Saul Williams), Vertus (Christopher Jackson), Corrine (Saycon Sengbloh), Darius (Joshua Boone), Reggie (Jaime Lincoln Smith) and Benny (Donald Webber, Jr.), a group of young adults in an urban neighborhood looking to make a better life for the future, attempting to leave their current situations in the past. Reminiscent of Spike Lee’s slew of films released in the ’90s, ‘Holler If Ya Hear’ portrays a clear message while using Lee’s ‘School Daze’ “Wake up!” directive to get its point across. Saul Williams and Christopher Jackson give a riveting performance as their counterparts aid in delivering a show that allows the audience to laugh, be surprised and even be upset with certain scenes.

Ending the show with ‘Thugz Mansion, ‘California Love’ and finally ‘Ghetto Gospel,’ play attendees receive a more in-depth look at Tupac’s brilliantly twisted soul.

Many may have feared the Stewart F. Lane, James M. Nederlander and James L. Nederlander-directed musical wouldn’t pay homage to Tupac properly, but by the end of the 140-minute show, it’s clear the three directors and their crew saw a theatrical vision that could be flawlessly brought to life.

Producer/singer Rico Love chopped it up with VladTV recently and shared a rather interesting story involving him, Kyle Norman of R&B group Jagged Edge, and a beautiful young woman who was not who she appeared to be.

Love explains that he was hanging out with Kyle one night when he met a young woman who caught his eye so he bagged her number. They talked for hours and eventually met up to get to know one another at Kyle's house where he was staying. Upon them meeting, Kyle walked in and saw the two talking, and told Love she was NOT the kind of girl you "get to know," and soon proved his point with the young lady.

Math Vs Dizaster Battle Erupts Into Wild Brawl on KOTD (@MATHHOFFA @MRDIZASTER)

Just when everyone had gotten past the clouds of violence cast upon the sport of Battle Rap following the fight between Math Hoffa and Serius Jones at Smack/URL's Summer Madness 3, the culture has once again been taken back to the gritty stigma that was once placed upon it at KOTD's "Battle Of LA 5" event. Leading up to the highly anticipated Math Hoffa vs Dizaster battle, many fans and battlers have shared their predictions on how the battle would play out, and in many cases the possibility of a fight occurring came up. Well, it looks like the many worries came to be, as Dizaster actually punched Math Hoffa in the face at the very end of their battle.

This is one matchup that had a lot of drama behind it since there has been battle discussions both ways for years now. Math has taken a lot of time off after being banned from battling on Smack/URL's platform after he punched Serius Jones in the face for yelling "Wooo" at him during their battle at SM3. He has since battled once on a smaller platform vs K-Shine, but it wasn't until yesterday, Saturday, June 28th, that Hoffa finally made his return to the big stage on KOTD's BOLA 5. According to fans comments on Twitter, the battle went smoothly and proved to be a true classic up until the very end of Dizaster's third round.

Leaked footage shows the tension quickly rise by the end of Dizaster's final verse when he spit, "F*cking waste of life! I should punch you in the f*cking face right now." It's uncertain what Math said specifically in response to Dizaster's threat, but based off of Dizaster's reaction it seems as though Math might've egged him on to actually do it. "Don't tempt me dude, I will," Dizaster said to Math after Hoffa responded to Diz's threat. Right as Lush One shouted "And there it is!" into the microphone signaling the end of the battle, Dizaster locked eyes with Hoffa intensely for a split second before firing off a powerful, and unexpected straight right hand that connected flush on the left side of Math's face.

Despite fan-created rumors, Hoffa didn't get knocked out, but rather stumbled backward after being hit, which Dizaster followed up with a flurry of even more punches. Things took a turn for the worse for Math because after he was struck by Dizaster, he was then attacked by other members of the crowd, which turned a brief 1-on-1 into a legitimate gang assault or "jumping" situation. What made the brawl even more of a handicap for Math, was the fact that he was being pulled back by security the entire time that people were attacking him. Multiple angles of the fight were released shortly after news broke of the KOTD violence that erupted, and it can clearly be seen in one video that Math was being held back by multiple individuals while Dizaster and others were charging at him.

At one point Math was taken down to the floor and attacked by random men even after Dizaster had been separated from the fight. Math eventually managed to rise to his feet. Enraged, he shouted for Dizaster to come fight him again, and he even tried to charge at Diz, only to get pulled back by security and others trying to break up the fight. Once Math was held back, Diz sprang at him with a Superman Punch, followed by a straight left jab. Security pulled Math back and you can clearly see other's grabbing at his arms interfering with his ability to throw punches back, meanwhile Dizaster powered forward throwing multiple punches before Math managed to grab him in a tight clench. The security behind him along with the aggressive forward pressure from Dizaster caused Math to fall to the floor once again with Dizaster on top of him throwing punches down on him.

Diz was eventually pulled off of Math by people in the crowd along with one of Daylyt's close friends, UTK (Universe The King). Even after being swarmed by multiple people, Math rose to his feet once again screaming at his attackers to face him, but he was eventually pulled away from the scene for good. After Dizaster and Math made their exits, the KOTD BOLA 5 venue was left in utter shambles. Now, here is where things get interesting.

After doing some investigating, Battle Rap Journalist Michael Hughes, got word from various sources that the altercation was potentially set up from the start to catch Math slipping. According to various respectable and legitimate inside Battle Rap sources, Dizaster arrived at the event with dozens of Grape Street Crips, and plotted to get the best of Math before the battle even began. While these claims have absolutely ZERO proof to back them up, the fact remains that after Dizaster's initial attack, Math was pounded on by multiple people. You can clearly see in the footage that bottles were thrown at him, and at one point, a man wearing a white button-down shirt with purple bandanna designs on it actually picked up a table and attempted to hit Math with it.

What's even more interesting, is that it appears as though one of Daylyt's associates, Aktive, actually threw punches at Math as well. Let it be known, that Daylyt nor UTK attempted to harm Math in any way during the mayhem. Also, while the fight ensued, fellow Smack/URL battler Aye Verb, actually jumped in at one point to help get some of the assailants off of Math.

In the end, Math managed to walk away from the fight with little to no injuries, however, the sport and culture of Battle Rap has once again suffered a great damaging blow that could cause roadblocks for its evolution in the future. Word spread so fast, that even Slaughterhouse members Joe Budden and Royce Da 5'9 commented on the situation on Twitter. Royce was particularly disappointed in Dizaster given the fact that they are currently bing featured on TV for the Total Slaughter reality series. The official Total Slaughter Twitter account event tweeted about how they've already lost a sponsor that they had been trying to lock down for a while over Dizaster starting a fight with Math. They tweeted, "We're all losers tonight. Smh"

Since the fight concluded, Math pointed out that Dizaster was "all smiles" when he was in New York, and even asked him if he'd like to fight 1-on-1 in a fair match to properly settle the score. Meanwhile, Serius Jones, the person who was on the receiving end of a vicious Math Hoffa punch at Summer Madness 3, even took to Twitter to throw jabs at Math for what happened to him. A lot of people are crediting the Dizaster vs Math fight to being Karma coming back around to Math, while others think Diz went way over the top and did something completely unnecessary which will hold back the growth of the culture. Some people believe that Dizaster only had the heart to pull that bold move due to the fact that he felt comfortable being in LA, and that he wouldn't dare do that to Math if things took place on the East Coast.

This is certainly a lot of drama, and something that cannot be taken back. It will be interesting to see what kind of damage this incident has on the Battle Rap culture due to the fact that this fight on KOTD was far worse that what happened on Smack/URL to Serius Jones. Apparently thousands of dollars in damage were inflicted onto the KOTD cameras and lighting equipment, and also the simple fact that multiple people jumped into the fight automatically makes it worse. It will also be interesting to see how KOTD handles this matter. Do you think Dizaster should be banned just like Math was from Smack/URL? Do you think what Dizaster did was uncalled for, or a taste of serious Karma for Math Hoffa?

Let us know your thoughts on the situation in the comments section below, and be sure to check out all of the tweets and fight videos in the above slide.
