The incident, which happened at a Los Angeles International Airport was betwerrn Kanye and the paparazzi after they swarmed him for photos. After one photographer grilled him with questions, the rapper lost his cool, grabbing him and the camera. During the scuffle, Kanye screams "You trying to get me in trouble so I steal off on you and have to pay you like $250,000 and sh**"

Ironically, Kanye is also ordered to pay the victim an undisclosed amount of money as well as enroll in anger management classes.

Kanye West Recieves Probation, Community Service in Photographer Battery Case

Kanye WestRichard Bord, Getty Images

It’s appears that Kanye West’s assault case against a Los Angeles photographer is finally over. The rapper-producer pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery in a special plea that will allow him to maintain his innocence.

West’s attorney entered the plea on behalf of the rapper who wasn’t in attendance.

According to the Associated Press, Judge Alan Rubin sentenced the G.O.O.D. Music leader to serve two years of probation and perform 250 hours of community service. In addition, he must attend 24 anger management sessions and pay restitution to the victim.

The victim, photographer Daniel Ramos, was attacked by West last summer at LAX. Yeezy scuffled with the shutterbug for his camera when he wouldn’t stop asking him questions. Ramos claims that West punched him in the face during their tussle at the airport.

At the hearing, Ramos demanded that West be thrown in jail. “If I did what he did to me, I’d be behind bars,” he said. “I was doing my job and he broke the law.”

Lawyer Gloria Allred has filed a civil suit against West on behalf of the photographer.

Earlier this year, West escaped criminal charges in another battery case, after he beat up a teen at a chiropractor’s office in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Los Angeles County prosecutor rejected the case because Yeezy paid the young victim a reported $250,000 out of court.

Jay Z 'G Checks' Hot 97′s Peter Rosenberg [VIDEO]

Don’t mess with Hov. Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg found this out the hard way when he tried to take a funny jab at Jay Z on the air. The superstar rapper let the ‘Hot 97 Morning Show’ host know how he really felt by calling Rosenberg on the phone, with daughter Blue Ivy in tow.

Rosenberg shared the incident on Hot 97 during one of his segments for ‘The Realness.’ He says that Jay called him from a blocked number as he was leaving SXSW in Austin, Texas over the weekend. Jay criticized Rosenberg for saying he was “jocking” Kanye West‘s career moves by doing a song with Daft Punk. Hov made some valid points he couldn’t argue with.

Even more hilarious than Rosenberg getting “g checked” was the fact that Jigga made the phone call to discuss the matter while daughter Blue Ivy was apparently on his lap. The radio host relayed that he heard a baby cooing and talking in the background of the call.

Ashanti Performs 'Foolish' With Live Band [EXCLUSIVE VIDEO]

When an artist has a song that can still get a room full of people vibing to the beat and the lyrics resonate 12 years after its release, that’s talent. Ashanti‘s heartsick ballad ‘Foolish’ is a timeless song that does just that. When those keys begin, it’s hard not to think back to where you were in 2002 when the record first dropped. The effort served as her debut single and skyrocketed the R&B songstress to the top of the Billboard charts, spending 10 weeks at number one. Plus it was certified platinum. Not bad for her first single.

Ashanti joins The Boombox for our Off the Record video series to perform the classic track with a band at MSR Studios in New York City. The live version of ‘Foolish’ with drums, a keyboard and guitar stays true to the essence of the original. “Know y’all remember this one! Let’s take it back,” she says before serving those all too familiar smooth vocals. This is one performance you’ll be singing along with.

Kiss Singer Gene Simmons Thinks Hip-Hop Has No Place in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Ethan Miller, Getty Images

In the opinion of Kiss singer Gene Simmons, hip-hop has no place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Speaking to Radio.com about Kiss’ upcoming induction into the organization, Simmons criticized the Hall of Fame’s selection process and the inclusion of hip-hop artists.

“A long time ago it was diluted. It’s really back room politics, like Boss Tweed,” Simmons stated. “A few people decide what’s in and what’s not. And the masses just scratch their heads.”

Simmons singled out the inductions of hip-hop legends Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five and Run-D.M.C. in his critique of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“You’ve got Grandmaster Flash in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Run-D.M.C. in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? You’re killing me!” That doesn’t mean those aren’t good artists. But they don’t play guitar. They sample and they talk. Not even sing!”

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five made history in 2007, as the first hip-hop act to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Since then, groups such as Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys have been inducted.

When asked about his feelings on his friend Donna Summers being inducted last year, Simmons continued his criticism of the Hall of Fame for including non-rock artists.

“But if you asked Donna, ‘What kind of artist are you?’ do you think she would say ‘rock?’ If you asked Madonna, ‘What kind of artist are you?’ do you think she would say, ‘Oh, rock!’ So what they hell are they doing in the Hall of Fame?” Simmons opined. “They can run their organization any way they’d like, but it ain’t rock! It just isn’t! If you don’t play guitar and you don’t write your own songs, you don’t belong there.”

Third Person Dies in Tragic SXSW Hit-and-Run

SXSW Tragedy Michael Buckner, Getty Images

A woman who was critically injured during last week’s crash at SXSW in Austin, Texas has died, police and family have confirmed Monday (March 17).

According to the American-Statesman, Sandy Le was pronounced dead early Thursday morning (March 13).

“Anybody who had the privilege of knowing her would tell you she’s just full of life,” said Le’s brother-in-law, Stuart Gates. “Not to sound cliche, she would just brighten up a room when she would walk in. She had an amazing quirkiness about her that was irreplaceable.”

The 26-year-old concertgoer was injured on March 13 when police say 21-year-old Rashad Owens crash through the barricades and plowed into a crowd of people while trying to evade authorities.

Two other people, Jamie West and Steven Craenmehr, were pronounced dead on the scene. Six other people remain in the hospital in either fair or good condition, while another person, DeAndre Tatum, is listed in critical condition. In total, three people have died and 22 people have suffered major injuries following the crash.

According to a police affidavit, Owens fled from an officer who tried to pull him over early Thursday morning. He then drove his car past barricades on Red River, where bystanders and police say he plowed through pedestrians without once hitting his brakes.

Owens is currently in jail and was charged with two counts of capital murder for the deaths of West, and Craenmehr, a 35-year-old musician from the Netherlands.

We send our prayers and condolences to all the people who have been affected by his unfortunate tragedy.

Chris Brown to Spend at Least a Month Behind Bars (@chrisbrown)

R&B singer Chris Brown will reportedly spend at least 30 days behind bars after being taken into police custody this weekend for a probation violation.

TMZ reports:

Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, will appear in court Monday, trying to convince the judge to cut Brown a break and let him either go to another rehab facility or go on house arrest pending the D.C. trial. Damon Dash Calls Out 'Racist' Reporters at Courthouse [VIDEO]

It’s safe to say that Damon Dash and the media don’t get along. After battling with attorneys on the stand in a civil case, he lashed out at reporters outside of the courthouse last week.

The Roc-A-Fella founder is being sued by Linda Williams, the mother of one of his children, for $1 million. The case stems from a 2009 incident in which Dash had Williams arrested allegedly under false pretense. The pair has had an ongoing custody battle over their son, Damon Dash II, who is now 17 years old.

During the trial, Dash was leering at two female reporters in the courtroom who were covering the case before the judge admonished him for his actions.

“I can’t look? Nothing wrong with looking,” Dash shot back at the judge.

Outside of the courthouse, the 42-year-old rap mogul berated the media who he called “racists” for their biased reporting of him.

“Why don’t they ever write good stories about black men?” he asked a New York Daily News reporter. “Because you are a Republican racist newspaper.”

Dash is obviously referring to the paper’s unflattering stories about his financial troubles.

After arguing with reporters for two whole blocks, he ended it with, “All I care about is how good I look. Later.”

Dash also posted a photo on Instagram of him and his legal team. He also wrote this about the media.

“The New York post and daily news are some racist motherf—ers they always try to make a black man look crazy unless he is a corporate puppet….I’ll show you the scumbag writers after they put this stupid story up…so much court for nothing.”
