Ariana Grande Falls While Performing in Toronto [VIDEO]

Ariana GrandeKevork Djansezian, Getty Images

Ariana Grande has an amazing voice and the energetic stage presence to match, but sometimes she gets so into her performance her excitement knocks her off her feet.

The pint-sized singer took a page from Madonna’s book while performing “Bang Bang” at her concert in Toronto on Sunday (March 8). After an intimate set for her fans, Ariana, with mic in-hand and not missing a line, attempted to run back to the main stage with her dancers, but she fell short and slipped trying to get in place.

The “Break Free” singer kept her cool and even giggled about the incident before she continued to belt out the rest of the song in her signature high-pitched serenade. She may be a diva in the making but she seems to embrace her clumsy side. This is not the first time Ariana caught a slip onstage in front of thousands of fans. Back in December she “almost died” when she tripped on confetti while performing “Love Me Harder” at the Jingle Ball.

Good thing she’s okay. It’s still early in her career and even veterans who have been in the game for years have had their unbalanced movements onstage. Both Drake and Beyonce took tumbles mid-concert.

For the most part, her tour has been full of surprises. At her stop in Detroit on March 7, she brought out beau Big Sean to perform two songs and offer a little PDA. The slip in Toronto will not stop her honeymoon; the tour continues in Pittsburgh, Penn. at the Petersen Events Center on Tuesday (March 10).

Nicki Minaj Denies Tweeting About 11th Anniversary With Safaree

Nicki Minaj recently posted a few subliminal tweets that many of her followers believed were about her would-be eleventh anniversary with ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels, but the rapper dismissed the talk.

Nicki Minaj Calls Out Blogger Necole Bitchie for 'Fraudulent Story' Centered on Relationship With Safaree Samuels

Nicki Minaj has kept her relationship with Safaree Samuels relatively private throughout the years, drawing attention to it only when the two were on the verge of collapse. Even after their breakup, the rapper is making sure details about their current status don’t get misconstrued.

This has led to some slight tension with blogger Necole Bitchie. Over the weekend, Minaj and Samuels seemingly traded tweets noting the passing of what would’ve been their anniversary. Bitchie saw the tweets and made a blog entry titled, “Nicki Minaj and Safaree Profess Their Love For One Another On 11th Anniversary.” According to Minaj, that headline isn’t quite accurate.

What followed was a series of tweets that may come off as passive aggressive to some, especially with the odd mix of serious cross-checking and emojis. Minaj particularly didn’t take too kindly to Bitchie’s defense that screenshots validated her story.

The situation never got too out of hand, though. The two sides had other matters to attend to, and the back and forth calmed down.

Minaj has left people speculating on her romantic life. The main storyline is now on her and Meek Mill. Minaj has been posting Instagram photos of them cuddled up together. Although this seemingly confirms it, neither has verbally confirmed they were an item.

NikeLab Lunar Huarache Light

Nike

NikeLab can do no wrong and they further prove that by continuing their streak by bringing forth a clean take on the infamous Nike Lunar Huarache Light. The duo of shoes is doubly dope thanks to Nike blending two types of tech for one amazing ride.

If you know anything about NikeLab then you won’t be shocked to see these two tonal silhouettes, which are light on colorblocking but heavy on technology. The main advance with this look is the combination of the double dose of comfort provided by the Huarache build and Lunarlon outsole. If you’re more interested in style, you’ve got two options, black or white.

These will be available exclusively to NikeLab on Mar. 12 and while we don’t know the price, don’t expect them to be cheap. The upside is that the site offers free shipping with each purchase over $75.

Kendrick Lamar Evokes Biggie's Spirit With 'The What' Freestyle

Christopher Polk, Getty Images

After putting the music world on notice with the release date of what is one of the most anticipated sophomore albums in recent memory, Kendrick Lamar has begun to make his rounds through the media circuit. The rapper visited recently-relaunched Real 92.3 in Los Angeles to speak with Big Boy as the first guest on his new morning show, K. Dot decided to oblige the people with a quick freestyle live on air.

Being that today also marks the 18th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.‘s death, it was was only right that the self-proclaimed “King of New York” would do his thing over beats that were once blessed by the original K.O.N.Y., dropping lyrics of fury over Biggie’s Ready to Die classic, “The What.”

“I don’t give a buh about no politics or rap,” the MC begins, showing that his brazen statements aren’t relegated strictly to studio songs, before getting into the thick of his verbal assault. “I came in this game, I stuck my fangs in this game / I wore no chains in this game, my hood, my name in this game.”

He then paints a picture of his Left Coast surroundings in vivid detail while taking a few more jabs at the establishment. “Everything is everything, it’s scandalous / So don’t motion for the ambulance, the project filled with cameras / The LAPD gambling, scrambling / Football numbers, slandering homies names on paper / You snitched all summer / The streets, don’t fail me now / They wanna put the gang down / From Compton to Congress, they set trippin’ all around,” he rhymes, completely obliterating the timeless beat.

Details on his next album may be scarce, but if he’s rapping with the urgency that’s on display during this freestyle, one thing that we can count on is that it will be worth the wait. Kendrick sounds like he’s a man on a mission.

His sophomore opus, [Untitled], arrives Mar. 23.

Drake's 'Madonna' Released With New Verse

Madonna Remix Cover - DrakeSoundcloud

Today is a good day for Drake fans. OG Ron C and DJ Candlestick drop a remix to the rapper’s groovy cut “Madonna,” off If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

Drizzy raps and sings for about 12 bars. “Plan this s— out on my own, the way it should go / Wrote it in code then wrote it in stone / So they’ll never know, but I might tell you one day you never know / We’ll see how I feel, we’ll see if you hold up your end of the deal / For now let me handle the wheel and don’t worry about doing your hair or what you should wear,” he spits.

In addition, a fan of the Canadian rapper took the new verse and put it on the original track, which will probably be shared just as much as the “chopped not slopped” version.

About three weeks ago, Madonna gave a shout out to Drake on Instagram, saying she loved the original version of the song. “@champagnepapi I love your new song about me,” she wrote. “It’s my favorite. I’m still waiting for you to pick me up. Ask D for my address. I knew you were a #rebelheart.”

The remixed version of “Madonna” will be on OG Ron C’s and DJ Candelstick’s mixtape, If You’re Choppin’ This It’s Too Late.

In the meantime, Drizzy’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late continues to do well, grabbing the No. 4 position on the latest Billboard 200 chart.

Waka Flocka Flame Cancels Show at University of Oklahoma Following Racist SAE Fraternity Video

Waka Flocka Flame has canceled his scheduled concert performance at the University of Oklahoma due to a video that surfaced online of the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) singing a racist chant.

The nine-second video was uploaded by an anonymous user on YouTube and it features a group of people singing, “You can hang him from a tree, but he can never sign with me / There will never be a n—– in SAE.”

The offensive clip prompted the national headquarters of Sigma Alpha Epsilon to close the University of Oklahoma chapter indefinitely. In addition, all of the SAE members were suspended.

SAE, the largest fraternity in North America, was founded in the Antebellum South. “We apologize for the unacceptable and racist behavior of the individuals in the video, and we are disgusted that any member would act in such a way,” said SAE’s national office (via Huffington Post).

Waka, who performed for SAE last year, was expected to headline a show at the university in April. The Atlanta rhymer went on Instagram to voice his disgust over the racist video, as well as cancel his upcoming concert at UO.

When I first started doing shows it was all hood spots and all black people. Then I had mainstream success and did soe EDM and it was all white people at my shows for awhile. Now it’s white, black and brown people at my shows. All races partying having a goood time and enjoying themselves together peacefully. That’s what Waka Flocka is all about. For that reason I must say I’m disgusted and disappointed in the actions of the SAE fraternity at University of Oklahoma and I will be canceling my scheduled performance for them next month. Racism is something I will not tolerate.

-WFF

And in the caption, Waka wrote:

SMFH.. I know for a fact the whole school and SAE don’t agree with those kids actions so know that I’m not madd at the whole #SAE just those disgusting kids!!!!!! #WFF We can’t change history but we damn sure can create our own future #DeathToRacism”

Props to Waka Flocka Flame for canceling his show and sending a message to SAE that racism has no place on a college campus. We must all go hard in the paint to fight racism in America.

Mighty Healthy x Reebok Ventilator

Footpatrol

The Reebok Ventilator celebrates 25 years of freshness in 2015, and to properly honor the milestone there are a few collaborations on deck. One shop that has been granted the privilege of customizing a pair is Mighty Healthy and they’ve injected it with a bit of stark realness.

The first think you notice is just how supple the suede is along the upper. We go from black to grey moving across the shoe from heel to toe and the soft suede of the upper combined with a speckled midsole brings the entire look to life. The use of pattern is continued along the zebra print sockliner while bits of white along the upper provide perfect contrast.

If you’re trying to get your hands on a pair, this Reebok Ventilator release is set to be at Mighty Healthy as well as a few other shops. One store that has them in stock is Footpatrol, which we should thank for delivering these crispy photos of the footwork.

Madonna's Hip-Hop History With 10 Rappers [PHOTOS]

Madonna is still vogueing with audiences at the golden age of 56. One of the unique qualities about the Queen of Pop is that she is fearless. The veteran singer loves to collaborate with other artists — especially with rappers.

Over her 30-year career, Madge has teamed up with rappers both professionally and romantically.

Among the artists Madonna has worked with include Kanye West, who produced several songs on her new album, Rebel Heart. The “Justify My Love” singer has also enlisted the help of Nas, Eve and Young Money superstars Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne during her career.

Back in the days, Madonna was rumored to be hooking up with the late Tupac Shakur and wanted to have his baby. In 1992, the Grammy Award-winning singer infamously tapped veteran rhymer Big Daddy Kane for her controversial Sex book. Seeing Dark Gable in between Madge’s legs certainly raised a lot of eyebrows. It also started rumors that BDK had sex with the pop queen, which he vehemently denies.

So with Madonna releasing her new album Rebel Heart on Tuesday (March 10) we decided to take a look back at Madge’s run-ins in hip-hop circles. Here’s our list of Madonna’s History With Rappers.
