Sneaker of the Week – Nike Air Stab Retro 2015
Sneakers come and sneakers go but when they return after a healthy hiatus it’s always a reason for celebration. With that said our Sneaker of the Week designation this week is being used to give a hearty pre-emptive welcome back to the Nike Air Stab as it is set to return to shelves sometime in 2015.
The Nike Air Stab’s name hinges on an interesting air bubble that features two icicle like pillars jutting from heel to outsole. From a design standpoint there is a lot that can be done in terms of colorblocking and if you’ve ever slipped your feet into a pair you’ll know that they are one of the most comfortable runners of all time. Between Lunarlon, Flyknit and Flywire, technology has advanced so far at this point that we are fairly certain designers are going to be tempted to slip a few upgrades in the mix.
With their pending return slated for sometime in between January and February of 2015 it’s gonna be really interesting to see what Nike does to usher them back in. We can’t wait to see who’s given a Nike Air Stab collaboration or what colorways they bring back in general.

These days, Nicki Minaj‘s backside has become just as famous as she is — especially since releasing the artwork and video for ‘Anaconda.’ Since she performed the song at the ‘Fashion Rocks’ show in Brooklyn Tuesday (Sept. 9), her derriere is getting some brand new attention.
During Queen Barb’s performance, photographers captured a shot of her sitting on a chair doing the ‘Anaconda’ dance. The result is Minaj’s butt looking very awkward, as if she’s sitting on top of her own booty. After the photos hit the Internet, it didn’t take long for people to comment on what they saw.
“Does Nicki Minaj have butt implants?” one person asked. “This picture seems to confirm she does.” “Bet you @NickiMinaj won’t be wearing any shorts like these anymore. How you sit on top of your a– implant?” another wrote.
Minaj has always maintained that all of her parts are real, despite people saying otherwise for years. However, she did address the rumors on the remix to Big Sean’s song ‘Dance (A$$).’ “Kiss my ass and my anus, because it’s finally famous / And it’s finally soft, I don’t know man, guess them ass shots wore off,” she rapped.

Lil' Kim Releases 'Hard Core 2K14′ Mixtape, 'Real Sick' With Jadakiss
Lil’ Kim has been on a tear to reclaim her throne as the Queen of Rap. After throwing shade at Nicki Minaj with several diss songs, including ‘Identity Theft,’ she’s back with a new mixtape, ‘Hard Core 2K14.’
Kim’s ‘Hard Core’ tape plays on her iconic album of the same name, which was released in 1996, on Atlantic Records. The cover itself features a black panther wearing a diamond necklace in front of a fireplace. A painting of the Queen Bee hangs on the wall flanked by roses. There’s also a bundle of cash behind the panther.
The rapper also released a new track called ‘Real Sick’ featuring Jadakiss. Over a sample of Puffy and Biggie’s ‘Victory,’ Kim spits bars reminding everyone of her return.
“Lil’ Kim, the one they all love and hate / The queen’s back bitches, regurgitate / I got these hoes real sick like a stomach ache,” she raps.
‘Hard Core 2K14,’ her first project since her 2011 release ‘Black Friday,’ is available on her official website.

Chris Brown Performs 'X,' 'Loyal' Medley on 'Tonight Show' [VIDEO]
Chris Brown is on a promotional run for his upcoming album, ‘X,’ and his first stop was ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’ On Thursday (Sept. 12), the R&B singer performed the title track and his previous hit single ‘Loyal.’
Backed by the Roots, Breezy was dressed head to toe in all-red, including Air Jordan 14 ‘Ferrari’ sneakers on his feet. His background dancers all wore black suits and what appear to be red masks, which was a bit creepy.
Midway through his performance, Brown showed off his impressive footwork before launching into his chart-topping song, ‘Loyal.’ The audience clapped and cheered along as the singer belted out the sanitized “These girls ain’t loyal” lyrics.
Brown’s ‘X’ album is due in stores on Tuesday (Sept. 16) and boasts guest appearances from Usher, Jhene Aiko, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Brandy, R. Kelly and more.
Brown plans to celebrate his album release on Tuesday with a special appearance on BET’s ’106 & Park.’

Chris Brown Gives Advice to Ray Rice on Controlling His Anger [VIDEO]
It’s been five days since a disturbing video showcasing Ray Rice knocking out his wife surfaced. Since then, people from all over the country have weighed in on the incident, including celebrities like Ja Rule, Floyd Mayweather and Indiana Pacers guard Paul George. Now Chris Brown is giving his advice to the former NFL football player regarding his own domestic violence scandal.
As we all know, the 25-year-old singer was convicted of assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. As a result of his actions, he became a national villain just like Rice is now.
“I think it’s all about the choices you make,” Brown tells MTV’s Sway Calloway in a recent interview. “With me, I deal with a lot of anger issues from my past, not knowing how to express myself verbally but at the same time, not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they were.”
Brown stresses the important of getting help. “I still talk to my therapist twice a week,” he admits. “So for me it helps me to actually be able to if I’m frustrated and I’m dealing with something, to vent and say what I’m going through so I can hear from an actual clinical person that’s like you know what ‘This is how you should react,’ or ‘It’s good to feel this way,’ because feelings, emotions and energy are supposed to come in and go.”
“For me, dealing with my anger issues and understanding myself and the life I’ve been through, where I’m headed and where I want to be has helped me really focus on what’s important and not F up,” the ‘X’ creator states. “For anybody who’s going through that situation or anybody who’s dealing with it — it’s all about the choices.”
“Every situation is different, but it’s all about the choices you make and how you control your anger,” he continues. Brown reveals keeping those negative feelings inside can turn one into a “monster.”
The crooner is channeling his positive energy into the release of his sixth album, ‘X,’ due Sept. 16.

Alicia Keys Throws Swizz Beatz a 'Coming to America' Birthday Party [VIDEO]
Swizz Beatz‘s birthday might not be until tomorrow (Sept. 13), but that worked out perfectly for Alicia Keys because it made the surprise for her husband’s 36th birthday bash an even bigger success.
Inspired by the 1988 Eddie Murphy film, ‘Coming to America,’ the party featured Swizz being treated like royalty. He sat on a throne as did members of his family, including his mom and grandma. The producer was all smiles with his family, who were all dressed in royal garb.
But if you’re wondering where Alicia was, don’t worry as the ‘We Are Here’ singer made a lavish entrance when she sashayed across the dance floor in a white flowing dress. Dancers performed choreography around her as she walked toward Swizz, laughing the entire time, which you can see below.
“My wife is awesome,” he wrote on Instagram. “thx my love for the best Bday party everrrrrrrrrerr.”
Aside from family, other guests included DMX and VIBE editor-in-chief Jermaine Hall.

Mac Miller's Mom Reads His Rap Lyrics on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' [VIDEO]
Rappers don’t really have the most family-friendly lyrics, but leave it to Jimmy Kimmel to put their moms in the hot seat to react to some of their more explicit content.
In a segment called ‘Words From Your Mother,’ featured on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ Mac Miller‘s mom recites lyrics from his single, ‘Watching Movies.’ The song details getting high, going to strip clubs and getting girls to perform oral sex, but his mom seems pretty collected as she reads through her son’s lines.
“Hit the strip club / See some hoes that I went to school with / Out in London like Lennox Lewis, bitch looking like Farrah Fawcett / I’m just tryna make better music, get this money, share the profits / Now this class getting led by students / Smoke some weed, get hoes while I do it,” she recites.
Following her part, the camera pans to Miller, chilling on a stool. He then gives him mom a fist pound after she finishes. Now that’s a close mother-and-son relationship.
Miller isn’t the only one whose mother has hit the late-night show to read rap lyrics. T.I., Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean all had their moms do the same in the past.

Rihanna Song Dropped From CBS' NFL Pregame Show
A song featuring Rihanna that was scheduled to air during CBS’ ‘Thursday Night Football’ pregame show has been scrapped in light of Ray Rice’s recent domestic violence scandal.
According to Sports Illustrated, CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said that the network pulled an opener that featured Don Cheadle narrating over Jay Z’s song ‘Run This Town,’ which also features Rihanna.
RiRi herself was involved in a very publicized story of domestic abuse in February 2009, when her then-boyfriend Chris Brown pummeled her hours before she was to perform at the Grammy Awards.
“We thought journalistically and from a tone standpoint, we needed to have the appropriate tone and coverage,” he said. “A lot of the production elements we wanted in the show are being eliminated because of time or tone.”
In its place, the revised pregame show will feature a previously aired interview with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti.
Prior to CBS pulling the segment, people voiced their opinion on Twitter about the inclusion of the Rihanna song.
