It’s been several months since Bobby Shmurda‘s ‘Hot N—-’ took over radio and the Internet. Just when you thought the song reached the end of its popularity, the rapper took it to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ where he performed his usual brand of animated dancing.
Rocking jeans, a blue T-shirt and a baseball cap, the Brooklyn rhymer, who was accompanied by GS9 crew member Rowdy Rebel, performed with confidence. And by only having two backup dancers — instead of his whole crew onstage — it’s apparent that Shmurda is trying to give audiences a better show.
Clearly, the crowd enjoyed the performance, as people jumped and waved their hands in excitement, proving that a hardcore street anthem has mass appeal when it’s put behind a fun and danceable track.
The audience was anticipating the Shmoney dance, which has become as popular as the Harlem Shake was back in the day. So there were a few screams heard once Shmurda started bopping back and forth.
Next up for Shmurda, he’ll be heading to the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans on Dec. 13, where he’ll be performing songs off his newly released EP, ‘Shmurda She Wrote.’

On Monday morning (Dec. 8), Miyah Telemaque-Nelson passed away from cancer at the young age of 6.
“I can’t believe this little angel is gone,” the ‘Only’ rapper posted on Instagram, accompanied by some photos the pair took together. “When I met her she was recovering. Sending love to her mother and family and John. This is heartbreaking. She was so full of life. #RIPMiyah.”
Minaj first met with Miyah back in March when Washington Wizards basketball player John Wall started a campaign through his Instagram with the hashtag #HelpMiyahMeetNicki. The purpose of the hashtag was to call on all the Barbz to help get the YMCMB rapper’s attention and make Miyah wish of meeting her come true and it worked. Minaj eventually met Miyah and developed a budding friendship.
Wall also took to his Instagram to remember the young fan. When asked about little Miyah’s passing, he couldn’t help but break down.

Lupe Fiasco‘s and his problems with Atlantic Records have been well-documented, and the relationship between the two have been contentious to say the least. But now it looks like their union may come to an end.
The Chicago rapper took to social media to let fans know that he’ll probably release one more album on Atlantic, then he’ll either head somewhere else or go the independent route. He says his manager is currently in negotiations.
“Chill is still negotiating the terms but it’s looking like ‘Tetsuo & Youth’ will be my last album with Atlantic Records,” he tweeted to his fans.
Fiasco joined the label back in 2005, and since then there have been a ton of album delays and arguments that went public between him and Atlantic. Thankfully, Fiasco’s loyal fans have been fully supportive of him, and actually held a protest back in 2010 to get his 2011 album ‘Lasers’ released.
Earlier this year in an interview with Power 106′s Rikki Martinez, the Midwest spitter said he wanted to release ‘Tetsuo and Youth’ just to get off the label.
“Personally, for me, I’d rather just be done,” he said. “I’d rather walk into the sunset and be up out of here. Unfortunately, my record label keeps me in a position and the greater drive is to get off my label so I can get out these contracts, as opposed to retiring under these contracts and being with these people. That’s the greater drive to get it out. It’s not even about, ‘Let me please the fans.’”
Let’s hope that Fiasco can work out something with Atlantic Records and continue to make great music.

T-Pain proved himself to be unstoppable for the fourth straight week after beating Nicki Minaj in last week’s Boombox Battle. With over 73 percent of the vote, the Queen Barbz didn’t have much of a chance to grab the lead.
And with this victory, T-Pain has officially become the next artist to enter the Boombox Hall of Fame and also means that we have two new artists who will be going head-to-head this week.
First up is Tyga. His song, ‘Make It Work,’ has been gaining lots of momentum at the moment. A departure from the strip club bangers he’s released in the past, this one gets a bit more serious about how much he’s been making from all the hustling he’s been doing. And after announcing that he’s officially leaving Cash Money and going indie, this track seems much more relevant for him right now.
“Why these n—-s wanna test me on the low though? / Got no mothaf—in’ patience so I’m patient with the scope though / Put your potty mouth on the low / Sleepin’ with the enemy, it’s like hangin’ on a rope,” he raps.
Fabolous will be going against Tyga this week. His track, ‘Lituation,’ which is the first single off his new album, ‘The Young OG Project,’ sounds like the quintessential New York City song. With its heavy beats and aggressive lyrics, the Brooklyn rapper is representing himself and hometown on this one.
“This a movie, get your Goobers, n—-, it gets deep get your scuba, n—- / I got the swipers in the gun shop, I got the shooters in the Uber, n—- / Everything brand new my n—-, Lord Jamar Grand Puba, n—- / They calling me Fidel Cashflow, yeah, and the link come from Cuba, n—-,” he spits.
Will Tyga’s west coast flow take the win? Or will Fabolous’ New York style of rhyming take him to the top? It’s up to you. Go vote for your favorite song in the poll below. Remember you can vote once per hour until the poll closes on Tues., Dec. 16, at 10AM ET.

Rules of The Boombox Battle
Two artists and their respective songs compete against each other each week. The triumphant artist goes on to compete in the next The Boombox Battle. If an artist wins The Boombox Battle four times consecutively, their song will be honored in The Boombox Battle Hall of Fame.
Whether you like him Auto-Tune or not, T-Pain is a winner. The ‘Buy U A Drank’ singer and rapper proved he doesn’t need to be enhanced in order to produce a hit as he is the latest artist to be inducted into the Boombox Battle Hall of Fame.
With his track ‘Stoicville,’ T-Pain blew through every opponent he was put up against for four straight weeks. The song takes us away from the Auto-Tune vocals he’s used in the past to showcase honest rhymes about his life both past and present. The song will be featured on his upcoming album, ‘Stoicville: The Phoenix,’ which likely will be out in 2015.
“Whoever thought a youngin’ from a city full of rattle snakes was ever gon’ make it out the grass patch / Seven heels had me looking for a better deal, a hood n—-, I couldn’t count on the Nasdaq / Coming home from school I had tears in my eyes / They was picking on me and wouldn’t give me my hat back / Now I got enough hats to give away, it’s better days, I refuse to have flashbacks,” he raps.

Apparently, money is a thing for Jermaine Durpri, because he was unable to keep his mansion from being sold in a foreclosure auction, according to TheJasmineBrand.com.
It’s been a constant back and forth between the So So Def founder and the bank that owns the home. Apparently, Dupri has kept it from being sold twice, back in 2012 and 2013, due to a discrepancy on what was actually owed — so the judge said for the parties to continue negotiating.
But talks were unsuccessful because the mansion was put up for sale once again, after the Atlanta mogul failed to make additional payments. At that point, the bank claimed he owed $400,000, while Dupri said it was merely $111,000, which postponed the selling of the home once again.
However, he negotiated a deal where he would pay one lump sum, then continue to make monthly payments, which he did for more than a year but something went wrong because the mansion was put up for sale again back in November.
“The debt secured by said deed to secure debt has been and is hereby declared due because of, among other possible events of default, non-payment of the monthly installments on said loan,” read the notice of sale. “The debt remaining in default, this sale will be made for the purpose of paying the same and all expenses of this sale.”
Dupri has lived in the Atlanta mansion since 2005.
