Cop Who Shot Man Over Seatbelt Violation to Face Trial in July
Levar Jones of Columbia, South Carolina was stopped for a seat belt violation earlier this year by State Trooper Sean Groubert, and when he tried to present his identification, Jones was shot at by the officer.
Nike LeBron 12 'Data' Gets New Release Date
Nike‘s latest LeBron release is planned in an absolute onslaught of colorways and if you’ve been saving the date for each drop, it’s time to update your calendar. The Nike LeBron 12 ‘Data’ just got a bump and it’s going to be in stores even earlier than anticipated.
The shoe makes use of bright mango and hyper red set against a black upper for a level of contrast that really helps it stand out. The theme with this one is pretty subtle as it represents the stats that back the claim of LeBron being one of the game’s most dominant players.
Now with a drop date of Dec. 19, the kicks hit shelves a full day earlier than expected. This means you can spend the next day lined up for one of the other monster releases set for the weekend.

Nike Air Max 1 'Olympic'
Olympic colorways always seem to add a level of elegance to a silhouette without sacrificing the overall performance aesthetic. This is most readily seen via the latest Nike Air Max 1 ‘Olympic,’ which makes very smart use of the regal theme.
Deep navy mesh inlays complement the sneaker’s white leather build and a gold leather swoosh serves as the center of attention. Red is spotted mainly on the branding until you get to the visible air unit, while the white mesh on the ankle goes by almost completely unnoticed.
We’re currently between Olympic games, with the next big event in 2016. With that said, while there is no release date for the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Olympic,’ hopefully we won’t have to wait another two years before we can cop them.

Dave East Plays No Games in 'Let It Go' Video
Rising rhymer Dave East has been generating a lot of buzz since dropping his ‘Black Rose’ mixtape in July. Now the Harlem native releases a new video for a song off the project, ‘Let It Go.’
In the Wolf Creations-directed clip, Dave spits hardcore bars and warns folks that he’s not the guy to be played with. The rapper also wears a crown and dons a white mask to give the visual that eerie feeling, all while a woman plays the violin.
“Real n—-s just won’t speak / Stay away from police / Smoke clear and I’m still East / Corporate money, I’m still street / Like boss mob, I still creep / Them plates ready, we still eat,” he raps over the violin-driven track, produced by Charlie Beatz.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro 'Volt' Gets Release Date
We’re going to go out on a limb and say that no one is getting the Grinch a Christmas gift. However, if you were interested in copping something for the fictional killjoy, this Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Volt’ would be right up his alley.
This version of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro goes full-on tonal with a glowing volt colorway lighting its upper. The one color effect is broken up by bits of black on the carbon fiber flight plate, pull-tabs and branding. Tonal can be tricky to pull off and this pair does it in a flawless fashion, thanks to the intensity of the high voltage colorway.

YG Claims He's Got the 'Album of the Year' in '2015 Flow' Video
YG didn’t receive a 2015 Grammy nomination for his debut LP, ‘My Krazy Life,’ but that’s not stopping him from reminding the critics he’s got the “album of the year” in the visuals for the haunting DJ Mustard-produced track ’2015 Flow.’
“It’s that Silicon Valley flow / I got that Sundance vision, n—- you ain’t know / God damn, I got album of the year still / Three packs in, imagine how these wack rappers feel,” he raps at the clip’s start.
The Compton, Calif. native rocks gold chains, a red fedora, a black button-down showing off his chest and a bunch of money spilling out from his waistband.
The video finds YG rapping and dancing around in a room with a checkered red-and-black wall. The West Coast MC is more animated than in previous videos, which makes watching him vastly entertaining. While one of his boys lounges in a chair beside him, YG even throws wads of money around the room, and keeps a few stacks for himself.
’2015 Flow’ will appear on the soundtrack to YG’s movie, ‘Blame It on the Streets,’ out now.

Bobby Shmurda and GS9 Crew Arrested in New York
There’s no question that Bobby Shmurda had a phenomenal year with his hit single, ‘Hot N—-.’ But all of his success is clouded by the news that he and his GS9 crew were arrested at Quad Studios in New York on Wednesday morning (Dec. 17).
Information is scarce, but according to Karen Civil, the Brooklyn rapper and his crew were taken into custody after police seized 20 guns at the recording studio. Epic Records executive Sha Money XL, who signed Shmurda, was also arrested during the incident.
If this story is true, this doesn’t bode well for Shmurda. The ‘Bobby Bitch’ rapper, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, was busted on a felony gun possession charge in June, and was also arrested for weed possession in October.
New York City has the toughest gun laws in the nation and this latest run-in with police could send Shmurda to prison.

Kendrick Lamar Performs New Song on 'Colbert Report' [VIDEO]
Kendrick Lamar appeared on ‘The Colbert Report’ Tuesday (Dec. 16) and performed a new song for the talk show’s finale week.
With the show’s last episode set for Thursday (Dec. 18), the Compton rhymer was honored with being the final musical guest. Dressed in all black and wearing his hair in dreads, K.Dot performed the powerful track ‘Untitled’ with his eclectic band, which featured bassist Thundercat, saxophonist Terrace Martin and vocalists Bilal and Anna Wise.
Lamar seems to be rapping about history and the tireless fight for freedom and expression.
“Holla at what you do, what you say / I shall enjoy the fruits of my labor if I get free today,” he sings, before ending it with the statement, “Tell ‘em we don’t die / Tell ‘em we don’t die / We multiply.”
After the performance, Lamar chopped it up with Colbert on a myriad of topics including his music and why he prefers to be called a writer instead of a rapper.
