Lupe Fiasco Debuts 'Haile Selassie' Featuring Nikki Jean

Lupe Fiasco

Grow a head full of dreads, start listening to Bob Marley and bam, you start drawing inspiration from Rastafarian culture.

Seemingly, that’s the route Lupe Fiasco has taken on his new song ‘Haile Selassie,’ named after the famed emperor of Ethiopia, who the Rastafarian culture is built around. Singer and pianist Nikki Jean is featured on the hook.

Right off the bat, the Chicago MC uses clever wordplay to convey social and political struggle.

“Man’s limitation, transfiguration, I can dance, welcome to the demo / Modern man comes to the wedding in the limo / Mixing doves with the rice rain / Uncle Ben’s off the rails on the night train / And that storm took us to the platform, push us / Back to the bachelor’s backdoor, unhook us,” he spits.

As usual, Lupe encases his lyrics in heavy symbolism, which makes them tedious to comprehend. Many rappers choose to intersperse their metaphors with straight talk, but not Mr. Fiasco, he uses hidden meanings and symbolism for an entire song, often times leaving people confused on what his overall message is.

But if you’re a Lupe fan, you’ll probably like ‘Haile Selassie’ as it’s chock-full of heady lyrics, deep messages and a pretty nice beat constructed by Soundtrackk, who produced ‘Kick Push.’

It’s likely this new cut will be on the rapper’s upcoming mixtape, ‘Lost in the Atlantic,’ which will precede his next full-length album ‘Tetsuo & Youth.’

Jamie Foxx Gets His Heart Stolen on 'Ain't My Fault'

Jamie FoxxDimitrios Kambouris, Getty Images

Jamie Foxx has found himself in love but he’s not taking responsibility for his feelings. The singer puts the blame on the woman who stole his heart on his new song ‘Ain’t My Fault.’

Although Foxx adds a little grown-and-sexy to the cut, it still could have easily been sung by any 17-year-old R&B newcomer, but that doesn’t make it bad — especially since it has some pretty strong melodies.

“Pop the champagne and let it rain all over the world / Me and my girl, we about to do the twirl on the dance floor,” he delivers on the track before serving up his smooth vocals. “Who told you to walk up to me with those Louboutins so high / Baddest bitch I’ve seen in my life / ‘Bout to make your boyfriend cry, make him cry, baby” he sings.

The question remains why Foxx, who can actually sing, chose to use Auto-Tune here.

By the looks of it, the 46-year-old renaissance artist is making a leap back into music as he released ‘Party Ain’t A Party’ with 2 Chainz in September.

There’s no telling when we’ll see a full album from Foxx, but it’s apparent he’s testing the waters with these new songs and doing his best stick to contemporary sounds.

Old Dirty Bastard's Son Young Dirty Bastard Reveals He Has Cancer [VIDEO]

Old Dirty Bastard‘s son, Young Dirty Bastard, is going through a health crisis. In an interview with Montreality, the 24-year-old rapper revealed that he’s battling testicular cancer.

YDB, who’s a vegetarian but still eats chicken, plans to fight the disease the natural way.

“Actually, I got cancer in my balls right now, but I’m trying to beat it everyday,” he says. “The doctor’s gonna kill me. The doctor gets paid to kill me. Do some push-ups. Do some sit-ups.”

“How you get your balls strong — you move your penis muscles. You squeeze your ass cheeks and you move your penis muscles to keep your balls healthy,” he continued.

YDB says he’s learned to live with “my friend the tumor.” “I detox everyday,” he said. “Eat a f—in’ garlic.”

Although we don’t agree with YDB’s advice on fighting testicular cancer, we must stress that it’s highly treatable if caught early by a health professional. We recommend that you see a doctor immediately if you feel that you might have the same medical condition.

Prior to this conversation, YDB was asked what he thought was the biggest lie in the world. His answer may surprise you.

“AIDS is the biggest lie in the world. Man created AIDS,” he said. “It didn’t come from a monkey. I think when you go to the hospitals they give you cancer. You get cancer from the foods.”

Elsewhere in the interview, YDB talked about the death of his father, which he describes as mysterious. At the funeral, he recalls telling mourners that his father’s spirit will live on.

“That night we was all at the funeral. It was an open-casket. He wasn’t f—ed up in the face. Everything was live. Everything was fresh,” he said. “Everybody got to see my pops that night. Mariah Carey came through. RZA came through [and] showed love. A lot of the Gods came through.”

“And basically, at the end of it I was like, ‘Damn,’” he continued. “I hopped on the stage, had the mic [and said], ‘My father ain’t going nowhere. Ol’ Dirty Bastard right here. He lives through me.’ I started crying and s—, you know how that get, but I stole all that power. I harnessed it and I’m actually doing this s— right now.”

Nike Air Max 'Halloween' Collection

Sole Collector

Why should kids have all the fun on Halloween? Nike answers that question with a two Air Max models bundled together as the “Halloween” collection and they prove to definitely be more treat than trick.

The Nike Air Max 90 gets a colorway that subtly suggests the holiday’s theme based on shades of orange and red used over the course of its nubuck and textured leather build and a translucent outsole as well. The Nike Air Max 95 however goes more overt with a heavy handed mummy theme in neon, grey and cream and crowned with a bloodshot eye on the tongue.

The two shoe release is set to hit select shelves on Oct. 30th and you’ll be able to cop them from Nike.com as well. Go’n ‘head and treat yo’self.

Nike Terminator Hi VNTG 'Tonal Suede Pack'

ABC Mart

It seems like the Nike Terminator Hi has been in hiding and boy have we missed it. The classic is back however and while Nike doesn’t need to chase trends to sell it they updated the model with a very timely “Tonal Suede Pack.”

The set of sneakers are just as they sound based on the description as we are presented with two tonal suede based colorways backed with leather accents. The red pair however features more suede than the black pair which uses leather on both the toe and ankle. The black colorway further differentiates itself by way of a contrast color stitches snaking around a white midsole that is otherwise uniform from model to model.

Rule of thumb states that if you see a pair of Nike Terminators you should buy them immediately and thankfully these are available now at select retailers including ABC Mart in Japan.

Pusha T Links Up With Northern Connect Tiga for 'Bugatti'

TigaSoundcloud

Pusha T has been quiet the past few months, and hopefully it’s because he’s hard at work on his sophomore album (or, better yet, a surprise Clipse EP). King Push can’t stay silent, though. He resurfaces to collaborate with Montreal electronic producer Tiga for ‘Bugatti.’

The terse notes and space is somewhat similar to ‘My Name Is My Name’ highlight ‘Suicide,’ but ‘Bugatti’ is what you get if you de-emphasize the bass and increase the weirdness.

Although Pusha T works off a more traditional view of rap, his beat selection has usually been anything but. They have this metallic gleam like ‘Bugatti,’ so Push doesn’t sound too far off here. Drug slingin’ rap is versatile. “Million dollar dreamers that comes with being genius / All that comes between us is that I’m Mars, she Venus / I be with them dealers that’s twistin’ up they fingers / Sellin’ all that white girl and buyin’ bitches Beamers,” he raps.

It doesn’t look like Pusha T’s sophomore album is dropping this year, but Tiga does have a new project dropping, which arrives Nov. 7.
