Suspect Arrested In Mazaradi Fox's Murder Wanted Revenge

An arrest has been made a month after the murder of Mazaradi Fox.

The rapper and ally of 50 Cent was gunned down in January and died on the scene in a driveway in New York. According to the Daily News, Jamal Scott was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, four counts of attempted murder and felony assault early Tuesday afternoon.

Scott's desire to kill Fox may have been to avenge his brother's death in 1998. Allegedly, Fox was involved in his brother's murder which led to his own death. According to reports, Scott was with his brother when he was shot and killed by Fox and another man in Jamaica, Queens in July 1998. Fox was never tried in the shooting, but did serve time for criminal possession of a weapon. Fox was freed in 2005 but then back in prison in 2011 for attempted assault. He was freed once again just two weeks before he died.

Fox's girlfriend spoke to reporters and was shocked that a 16 year beef led to Fox's death. "[The shooting] was almost 16 years ago," she said. "Jamal didn't pull the trigger. He didn't shoot him. He just happened to be there when it happened. Killing Mazaradi, that's not going to bring your brother back."

Prior to his release, Fox talked about getting back in the rap game.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks now that there's trouble in paradise for T.I. and Tiny, and the speculation has only been fueled by multiple IG comments made by both Tip and his wife that could be seen as subliminal shots at each other.

While not indicative of trouble in the marriage, T.I. recently left a message for his wife on Instagram concerning the series of photos she posted showcasing her backside. While he's not outright scolding her, it seems apparent the Atlanta rapper isn't thrilled with the photos being put out there for the world to see.

Exclusive! T-Pain Angered by Homophobia in Hip-Hop (@tpain)

T-Pain addresses a previous comparison he made concerning Ray J after seeing his sex tape with Kim Kardashian, which led into a conversation about people being homophobic. The "Up Down" rapper believes that "if you aren't gay, then gay things shouldn't bother you."

The conversation then turns to T-Pain's gay assistant, which the rapper says has made other people uncomfortable to approach him in the club or any time they are together. He believes that there is so much homophobia in hip-hop that it stops people from working with talented artists like Frank Ocean, which T-Pain says is "terrible, because they need Frank Ocean on the song." The Florida native adds that he doesn't work with anyone who's homophobic in the business and who cut others off over the way they want to live their lives.

Run the Jewels Win Hip-Hop Album of the Year in 2014 The Boombox Fan Choice Awards

Run The JewelsFiona Goodall, Getty Images

Last year, many high-profile artists released highly anticipated album, including Kanye West‘s ‘Yeezus,’ Jay Z‘s ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ and Pusha T‘s ‘My Name Is My Name.’ The BoomBox Fan Choice Award for Hip-Hop Album of the Year is going to an alternative act, however. Run the Jewels — the pairing of El-P and Killer Mike — snatched 45.38 percent of the vote with their self-titled album.

Killer Mike and El-P had two of 2012′s best albums with ‘R.A.P. Music’ (produced by the latter) and ‘Cancer 4 Cure,’ respectively. Anticipation was high for their first album as a duo and the project didn’t disappoint. The acclaim was near unanimous as the duo combined lyrical idiosyncrasy with familiar hip-hop machismo and ear-rattling production. Clocking in at a little over 30 minutes, the hip-hop opus was yours for the low price of $0.00.

There’s more Run The Jewels to come, too. The sequel is expected to drop this year. If this El-P tweet is any indicator, Run the Jewels is going to be strong for a long time.

Meshell Ndegeocello Talks Process, Prince, New Album + More [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Meshell Ndegeocello’s approach to music and life is equal parts defiance and surrender.

Her music defies categorization, never fitting neatly into any specific genre yet incorporating elements of rock, R&B, soul, hip-hop, electronic music, folk and whatever else she feels like when she’s in the process of creating. (If you’re still searching for a label then maybe “good” or “great” would suffice.)

Typical labels don’t work very well to describe her as a person either. Categorizing Ndegeocello by gender, race, or sexual orientation does little to encompass the depth of her creativity or the breadth of her vision. Trying to capture that type of expanse in a word or two is futile too.

As part of our Off The Record video series, we spoke with Ndegeocello and she performed unique covers of Nick Cave’s ‘Pink Moon’ and Nina Simone’s ‘Be My Husband.’ We also were treated to songs from her new album, ‘Comet Come to Me,’ including her dramatic take on old school rap trio Whodini’s classic ‘Friends’ and a lush original composition called ‘Continuous Performance.’

According to Ndegeocello, ‘Comet Come to Me’ is an exercise in living in the present – a surrender to spontaneity and the here and now. It’s not a concept album but a body of work inspired by creative impulse in the now and “randomness.” No strict adherence to theme or premeditated intention — just creating for creation’s sake — a space where she feels most liberated. “It’s the only time I feel genderless, race-less,” she told us. “I just feel at ease, you just have one thing to concentrate on.”

Watch her talk about how Prince’s music spurred her own music career and her approach to making music in the video above and maybe you’ll be inspired too.

Watch Meshell Ndegeocello Perform 'Continuous Performance' [EXCLUSIVE]

You’ve probably never heard the words “fine” and “OK” sound as ominous as they sound in Meshell Ndegeocello’s performance of her song ‘Continuous Performance’ for our Off the Record video series.

Clad in a parka and baseball cap, Ndegeocello and her band came to MSR Studios in New York City to remind us why she’s as incomparable an artist as she is talented. ‘Continuous Performance’ is her abstract meditation on how times have indeed become “very strange.”

Take a surreal look at life with Meshell Ndegeocello and her band in the premiere of Off the Record on The Boombox.

On his platinum album Born Sinner, the Cole mentions the rapper on the track "Forbidden Fruit." "Cause a nigga poppin' like Harlem in the nine-seven/ way before Mase was a reverend." When Ma$e saw Cole, he thought about slapping him but decided to let it go because 'he's just a kid.'

"Ï like J.Cole when he's not taking shots at me. I saw him one day and I was gonna hit him but I was too grown to be knocking light skin people out."he said."But that's my generation. If we see you and you say something on a record, it's action, but when I saw him I thought he's a kid he don't get it."

Cam’ron surprised attendees when he showed up on the runway at Mark McNairy’s New York Fashion Week show Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 11).

The rapper, appearing dapper as always, wore a loose-fitting grey suit and his new favorite fashion item — a plush cape. The tweed cape, with a faux fur lining, is part of the Dipset cape collection Mark McNairy helped to create. In addition to the style Cam wore on the runway, three more include flannel wool with satin lining, blurred-out camo with yellow mesh and blacked-out wool with quilted lining.

Each cape features Dipset USA or Diplomats printed on the back, according to Miss Info, who was in attendance at the show. Damon Dash, Jim Jones and Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez were also in attendance to watch the Harlem, N.Y., native strut his stuff on the catwalk.

At the end of the show, Cam’ron’s girlfriend JuJu walked the runway with him hand-in-hand. The final song played while the models also walked the runway: Cam’ron’s 2002 hit ‘Hey Ma.’

Mark McNairy is an American menswear and footwear designer. He’s collaborated with athletic and streetwear brands like Pro Era and Adidas in the past.

Omarion teases his forthcoming album, ‘Sex Playlist,’ with a sexy, new visual.

The Maybach Music Group singer releases a visual set against a song snippet from the album’s title cut. Pharrell Williams Wins Producer of the Year in 2014 The Boombox Fan Choice Awards

PharrellKevin Winter, Getty Images

No surprise here. After experiencing an extraordinary 2013 and moving strong into 2014, Pharrell Williams walks away with another award: The BoomBox Fan Choice Award for Producer of the Year.

Pharrell did have some decent competition this year as he was up against producers like the ever-consistent the Alchemist and in-demand Rick Rubin. What may have given him an advantage, however, is how he had Billboard-dominating success outside of hip-hop. This includes ‘Blurred Lines’ with T.I. and Robin Thicke, which topped the Billboard charts for a whopping 12 consecutive weeks and was last summer’s biggest hit.

He also had more than a small role in the return of electronic duo Daft Punk. Their lead single ‘Get Lucky’ was one of 2013′s most critically-acclaimed and popular songs. Pharrell walked away with three 2014 Grammys — Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Record of the Year and Album of the Year (‘Random Access Memories’) — through his collaboration with Daft Punk.

The Virginia native was also able to hold it down in the realm of hip-hop and R&B. His 2013 production credits include two songs on Earl Sweatshirt‘s ‘Doris’ (‘Burgundy,’ ‘Chum’), Busta Rhymes‘ dancehall-inspired ‘Twerk It,’ 2 Chainz‘s ‘Feds Watching,’ a few tracks on Kelly Rowland‘s ‘Talk a Good Game’ (‘Street Life,’ ‘Stand in Front of Me,’ ‘Feet to the Fire’), Pusha T‘s ‘S.N.I.T.C.H.’ and ‘Suicide,’ and Beyonce‘s ‘Blow.’ This is only a fraction of his total contributions for the year.

It looks like Pharrell’s creative renaissance is only going to continue in 2014. He started off the year in a publicized 20-day studio session with Pusha T and Chad Hugo of the Neptunes. Plus, it looks like his non-hip-hop relevance is going to continue with ‘Happy,’ which sits at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Paul George's Ex Clowns Him on Twitter for Knocking Up Stripper (@paul_george24 @jennyferdeanne)

Indiana Pacers baller Paul George caused quite the stir earlier this week when news broke that he had allegedly impregnated a Miami stripper named Daniela and then offered her a cool milly to get an abortion. While many were appalled by the allegations, some reveled in the schadenfreude -- possibly none more so than his former boo, Jennyfer.

Tweets and re-tweets from Jennyfer that came after the news broke made it very evident that she has absolutely no sympathy for George, and instead finds the situation quite funny. Check them out above.

In a statement to TMZ Sport, George says if the baby turns out to be his, he'll man up and do the right thing. "If and when there is legal confirmation that I am the father, I will fully embrace my responsibilities. This is a personal matter that is still being sorted out, so I hope you can respect my privacy."

As for the rumor of a million dollar abortion offer, a spokesman for George says it's absolutely false. "There is no truth to the rumors that Paul offered money for [Daniela] not to have the child."

You can see a few IG flicks of Jennyfer and the stripper in question up top as well.

Man Sues LAPD After Getting Tasered In Genitals For No Reason

A LA resident is suing the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department after he was tased in his genitals for no apparent reason.

According to the Daily News, the incident happened in December after Daniel Johnson's disabled father dropped his cigarette on the ground by their home in Altadena, Calif.

Police knocked on Johnson's door ordering him to pick up the cigarette. Soon after the police officer put Johnson in a headlock and tased him in his genitals, while the other wrote his disabled father a ticket for $1,000 and allegedly threw it in his face.

In his initial complaint, Johnson claims that he could "smell his flesh burning from the tastes." He also said that he wasn't resisting the whole time the police officers had him in a headlock.

"He was definitely point blank," Johnson told the station. "He was right above me as he tased me, so there's no mistake that he was trying to tase me in my genitalia."
