Nike doesn’t really need a reason to release a revamped Air Jordan silhouette, but best believe they are going to cash in on the opportunity to drop some heat around All-Star Weekend. However, this pair bears the weight of Jordan Brand’s 30th Anniversary as well, which makes it extra special.
This time, the Air Jordan 1 gets a stingray-flavored makeover that gives its upper an uber luxurious, finely-pebbled texture. If that’s not fancy enough for you, the release is also given golden accents in the form of eyelets and branding. Hits of white on the laces and outsole counterbalance the colorway, giving the sneaker that subtle pop of contrast.
The release date is still up in the air on these, but hopefully you can look out for them sometime in the coming weeks. If you like the Pinnacle theme but aren’t so crazy about them in white, the good news is that they’ll be available in other colorways too.

O.T. Genasis may love the ‘CoCo,’ but he certainly loves to make it rain in the strip clubs too. Last week (Jan. 26), Busta Rhymes’ protege was spotted at the Ace of Diamonds strip club in Los Angeles shooting the club up with a money gun.
Yep, a money gun. The device can shoot $1 bills like a machine gun shoots bullets. Whoever made this toy is a genius.
In the video above, Genasis is clearly in the zone as two bodacious strippers are twerking on the pole. The rapper then lifts the gun in the air and — woosh! — hundreds of dollar bills are raining down on the stage.
According to TMZ, the money gun can hold a $1,000 and O.T. Genasis spent $5,000 during his brief appearance.
After his time onstage, the Atlanta-based rhymer, who appeared a little inebriated, tried to explain to TMZ that when he goes to the strip club, he only tips the strippers he likes.
“I can’t tip everybody,” he said. “I’m trying to keep my money. Personally, I have to tip the one I like, it has to be something I like about her. When I go inside the strip club it has to be to be the girl that grabs my eye.”
Tipping ain’t easy.

Earlier this month Nicki Minaj's ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels made headlines after telling The Breakfast Club that he helped write her rhymes.
By now, you would think an artist would refrain from trying to board an airplane with a gun, but unfortunately that’s not the case with Benzino. The former ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ star was arrested in an Atlanta airport for having a loaded gun in his bag.
TMZ reports the incident went down Tuesday (Jan. 27), when the rapper and reality show cast member was leaving Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to head to Los Angeles. A TSA employee, who became suspicious of Benzino, searched his duffle bag and found a loaded 9 millimeter handgun with seven rounds in the magazine.
From there, Benzino, born Raymond Scott, was arrested and placed in jail. He was eventually bailed out after paying $3,000.
This isn’t the first time the 50-year-old had problems while traveling. In May of 2014, he was kicked off a flight in Chicago after there was some questions about his seating. A yelling match ensued and the Boston native accused one of the flight attendants of being racist.
Benzino has yet to make a comment on his Atlanta arrest.

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have seen their fair share of legal drama, considering they’re going through a divorce. But now, they’ll be entering a new courtroom battle because a former nanny is suing them.
According TMZ, Sionette DaCosta started caring for the famous couple’s kids in October of 2013, when they were still babies. Right away she established a good relationship with the infants, she claims. Apparently, that didn’t sit too well with the R&B superstar because she states DaCosta was overstepping her boundaries with the children. As a result, she was eventually fired.
Now, the former nanny, who made between $6,000 and $7,200 a month, is looking for back pay because she claims she was wrongfully terminated. She also alleges she was forced to work overtime with no pay, sometimes working 100 extra hours a week.
As the Daily News reports, DaCosta filed court documents in Manhattan Federal Court, in which she states she was never properly compensated.
“As such, she attended to their needs, not only at home, but also during Ms. Carey’s travels for her global concerts and appearances,” reads the suit. “Plaintiff was always behind the scenes and often by Ms. Carey’s side.”
The ex-nanny reveals that Carey would phone her at all hours of the night. “Plaintiff was on duty during all hours of each 24 hour day with no entitlement for breaks, for meals, and even for sleep,” reads the court docs.
“Indeed, Ms. Carey would often call plaintiff at hours in the middle of the night, and demand to be taken to her children or to be updated on the status of her children… Ms. Carey would not tolerate any delay when she called, and plaintiff had to attend to her every demand, spontaneous or otherwise.”
At this time, neither Nick nor his ex-wife have made any statements about the lawsuit.

Back in the day, rappers would head to the booth to air out their issues with fellow artists, using songs to fight their battles. Think Jay Z and Nas’ dispute on diss tracks like ‘Takeover’ and ‘Ether,’ respectively. Then there were others like Beanie Sigel’s ‘Jadakiss Diss’ and the ‘F— Beanie Sigel’ delivered by Kiss.
But since the birth of Twitter in 2006, it’s much easier for rappers to air out their issues in 140 characters or less, directing their opinions straight at their opponents without cashing out on studio and production costs.

Believe it or not, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar have a mutual respect for one another. So much so, that back in the days, the Roc Nation rhymer wanted to sign him to his own burgeoning record label.
In an in-depth interview with ‘The Combat Jack Show,’ the North Carolina MC recalls his 2010 meeting with the Compton MC when he was an unknown rapper in the game.
“I met Kendrick at a time when all I had out was ‘The Warm Up,’ nobody knew who he was, he didn’t have a deal,” he said. “He was signed to Top [Dawg] — I didn’t know he was signed to Top — “I actually wanted to sign him, but I didn’t have my business right. I didn’t know he was with Top [Dawg].”
Hollywood Cole says that even back then, K.Dot was a ferocious rhymer with an enormous amount of talent.
“But in my mind, he was the first person I ever found…I remember tellin’ everybody like, ‘Yo, I’m tryna sign this kid. Like yo, this n—-’s nasty!’” he said.
“I’m looking at this short, dark-skinned kid like, ‘Yo, who is this kid?’ and then he gets on the mic and murders,” he continues. “I’m a rapper’s rapper and I’m not easily impressed, and when I heard him I was instantly [impressed].”
Later on, Cole was able to hear some tunes Lamar was working on — ‘P—- and Patron’ and ‘Cut You Off’ — and was convinced that this young rapper was a superstar in the making.
“I was like, ‘Yo, I’m f—in’ with this n—-. I wanna sign this n—-!’ From there, I felt compelled to always give him any jewels I could,” he recalls.
Cole eventually connected Lamar with Dr. Dre and the rest, they say, is musical history.
“This n—- blew the f— up and reached levels that I hadn’t reached,” he said. “I didn’t know the n—- would go platinum before me, but I definitely saw it for him. I believed and believe.”
J. Cole offers plenty of anecdotal jewels on during this interview. So grab a sandwich and a drink, and listen to the full two-hour interview below.
