Lil Boosie Changes His Rap Name
Fans have been waiting patiently for Lil Boosie to drop his new album but it appears that won’t happen this year as previously promised. However, the rapper has some other big news to share in the form of a name change.
According to XXL, a rep for Boosie confirms he’s officially changed his rap name to Boosie Badazz.
The 31-year-old rhymer has used the nickname throughout his career. Boosie titled his 2006 album ‘Bad Azz’ and his 2009 LP was called ‘Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz,’ so the name change shouldn’t be a real shock to anyone.
Currently, you can see Boosie Badazz credited on ‘Beez Like‘ on Jeezy’s latest project ‘Seen It All’ and on ‘Jet Fuel‘ via T.I.’s ‘Paperwork’ album, which is in stores now.
Boosie follows behind such artists as Bow Wow, Twist and Jeezy who removed the “Young” and “Lil” qualifiers in their rap names to reflect their grown-man status.
There’s still no word on when Boosie Badazz will drop his comeback album, ‘Touch Down 2 Cause Hell,’ but the streets are anxiously waiting for it.

Boy, how fast they grow up. It seems like it was just yesterday when Diggy Simmons was just a little tyke running around on his dad’s MTV reality show ‘Run’s House.’
But now at 19, the rapper, TV personality and fashion-head is all grown up and singing about missing his girl on the road. The cut is called ‘Honestly,’ and Diggy gets pretty sentimental pretty fast.
“You gave me a picture of you and I framed it / And all of my n—– be playing and claiming / You need to feel this it’s straight out the chest / I be on tour buses dealing with mess… And honestly the road can get cold / Sometimes I need something I can hold,” he croons.
It sounds like Simmons has been listening to a lot of Drake since he released his debut album, ‘Unexpected Arrival.’
There’s no word yet on when Simmons’ sophomore LP will arrive. But one thing’s for sure: you can clearly hear he’s matured on this new track. Gone are the squeaky pre-pubescent vocals that he used on songs like ‘Copy, Paste’ and ‘Do It Like You’ back in 2011. He’s on his grown man tip here.
Hopefully he’ll start carving out his own sound and leave the Drake-styled vocals alone.

Police Investigating Possible Bomb Outside Jay Z's 40/40 Club
The NYPD’s Bomb Squad was called to Jay Z‘s 40/40 club in New York City after a suspicious object considered to be an explosive was discovered outside of the venue early Tuesday morning (Oct. 21).
Police sources tell the New York Daily News that the device, which was found in a phone booth near the restaurant’s Flatiron District location, had “a flashing light with wires attached to two pieces of wood.”
The Bomb Squad team are on the scene and have X-rayed the booth but the investigation is still ongoing. Traffic was allowed to pass by but the sidewalk was closed to pedestrians.
Tzvi Twersky, an editor at Slam magazine, captured a photo of the NYPD bomb squad truck as police officers surveyed the area. “25th street is closed between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Someone planted a fake bomb outside Jay Z’s 40/40 club,” Twersky wrote.

Tanya Morgan's Von Pea is 'So East Coast'
Tanya Morgan recently joined the HiPNOTT Records roster, but group member Von Pea also announced he’d be releasing a solo album called ‘To:You’ through his new label home as well. The Brooklyn, NY rapper gives listeners their first taste of the upcoming project by unveiling the lead single ‘So East Coast’ produced by The Other Guys.
The Other Guys provide Von Pea with a mellow, yet engrossing beat on the new track as Von lets you know why he’s “so East Coast.” Von explains on the hook that he’s got love for all regions, but reiterates that he’s repping the East Coast as long as he’s around.
Von raps, “Home sweet home run, circling the diamond, ’til the whole team start piling / Studying the craft like class, never have seen the gaslight, Von Pea features earn you another half-mic / Back when The Source was the bible, Quran, I was planning our chance at the title / All gone, disestablish, now it’s all survival / You’re killing yourself, feeling yourself like the vinyls / Rap fan writing out cat scans over these waves / We don’t work for free, s–t we owe it to the slaves / Roll with triple D’s, Don, Dan and Dave / No bra puns dog, too easy, I’ma take it back to the essence until I’m on jet with an ebony with hair like the ’70s.”
Von Pea’s ‘To:You’ album, which was produced entirely by The Other Guys, is currently scheduled to drop on Nov. 25 and can be pre-ordered now on the HiPNOTT Bandcamp page.
