Freeway Provides More Info on Beanie Sigel's Health After Shooting [VIDEO]

It’s been a little over a month since Beanie Sigel was shot in the chest, and since then all kinds of rumors have been swirling around, from the Philadelphia rapper losing a lung, to actually passing away.

Thankfully, longtime friend and fellow State Property member Freeway stopped by RevoltTV to give everyone an update.

According to the ‘Diamond in the Ruff’ rapper, the 40-year-old Sigel is currently on the mend and should be okay in a couple of months.

“It definitely was an unfortunate situation,” he said. “We need everybody to keep giving prayers to Beans. He’s coming along. He’s home now. He’s with his family. He’s resting. He should be back [in] tip-top shape in a couple of months.”

Philly Freezer also blasted the media for putting out false stories, and said he felt compelled to set the record straight, especially since news of Beans dying spread around so quickly.

“The media, they gonna say what they gonna say anyway,” he stated. “So if anything is too out of pocket, like when they said he died and all that, then you know, it was my duty to let the people know that he’s still alive and to keep praying for him. But other than that, we good.”

That’s good to know. Get well, Beans!

Jay Z's Pre-'Reasonable Doubt' Demo Tape Surfaces Online

Jay ZNick Elgar, Getty Images

What if we were able to witness the beginning of greatness? What if we were fortunate enough to get a quick peak behind the curtain to see how one of the most celebrated rappers began? That question can be answered today (Jan. 14), as Jay Z‘s early demo tape (circa pre-’Reasonable Doubt’) has surfaced online.

On this priceless gem of a demo tape, a young Hov can be heard using a sped-up cadence — a very popular lyrical flow in the early 1990s when groups like Das EFX came out — and dropping hundreds of quotable punchlines.

The lo-fi tape is 11-tracks long and it’s evident from the start that Jay had an amazing sense of diction and word clarity. Not to mention, his lyrical confidence at the age of 24 is mind-boggling.

On cuts like ‘Under Pressure,’ and ‘Broken English & Drug Selling,’ a young Jigga talks about just leaving the drug game. On ‘What’s in A Name’ and ‘Pass the Roc,’ Jay Z shows how strong he is at conceptual writing, as every line is devoted to the chosen topic, bringing the listener deeper and deeper into the song’s subject matter.

You will also love the early East Coast-styled production, along with the call and response hooks that were popular back then. However, the biggest treat is listening to Jay as his lyrics were still incredibly sharp back in the mid-90s.

“They don’t be knowin’ the way I be flowin’ / When I be goin’, I be running the track like Jesse Owens / I disrupt the natural scheme, the way that you do things, with a swing and have them rocking like Sting,” he raps on ‘Nuthin’ But Love.’

Enjoy the whole demo tape below and witness how one of the lyrical greats got started in the rap game.

The Nike Kobe Mentality ‘Clearwater’ is set to hit retailers on Jan. 15, but don’t get stuck in your head about where you should cop. Spots like Extra Butter will have them in stock.

FKA Twigs Is in Bondage in Self-Directed 'Pendulum' Video

British singer FKA Twigs dropped ‘Pendulum’ last summer, and now she’s finally brought us a visual to go with the pulsating track.

While the video looks pretty simplistic with the plain background and the scantily-clad songstress in every shot, the camera soon pans out to reveal that she’s actually in an awkward position and tied up by her hair. FKA is performing Kinba, a Japanese style of rope bondage, and since she is a classically trained dancer, she’s able to contort her body into so many different positions yet still keep a relaxed face.

While she struggles with her rope-like hair, we then see her melt into a metallic substance before she’s dressed in a superhero outfit and breaks it down with a heavy dance. The shock factor of the visual is lost but leaves us with room to really appreciate the creativity that she puts into every performance — whether it be on stage or screen.

‘Pendulum’ is off her album debut, ‘LP 1,’ which is out now.

Chris Brown Won't Perform at 'Hood' Venues

Chris BrownImeh Akpanudosen, Getty Images

Chris Brown is changing his surroundings. After a shooting occurred at a California nightclub he was hosting at — five people were wounded — on Sunday (Jan. 11), the ‘New Flame’ singer is no longer interested in working at “hood” venues.

According to TMZ, Breezy called an emergency meeting and told his manager and crew to cancel future gigs — performance, hosting or otherwise — that had a threat of security problems or a history of violence. The site also reports that Brown apparently doesn’t want to be linked to any shootings and is doing his best to protect his rep, his fans and himself, of course.

Breezy performed at a San Diego club on Jan. 12 following the shooting and reportedly posted more thoughts about the shooting on Instagram.

“No more n—- parties! Only this type s—!” the caption apparently read. However, it looks like he’s deleted the comment — thanks to the new edit feature on the photo-sharing app.

Oddisee and Phonte Deliver Sobering Truths on 'Requiem'

RequiemMello Music Group

Oddisee has never really had a shortage of truth bombs throughout his career. The DMV rhymer has even more to spit on ‘Requiem,’ which features Phonte.

The new song is sobering from multiple aspects. Oddisee and Phonte rhyme over a melodic riff that’s as hazy as it is poignant. The lyrics don’t differentiate much from that tone.

“But I’ll be honest man I’m runnin’ out of s— to feel / I ain’t tryna tell my biz, but I got the blues / And I watch the news like n—- what the f— I’m ‘posed to tell my kids / So f— your city ordinance this is for the flourishing so hot in the air,” Oddisee delivers.

“My father came in ’76, not to get your job / But just to get a job, see we ain’t make the A bomb,” Phonte raps.

‘Requiem’ will be included on Mello Music Group’s upcoming compilation album ‘Persona.’ The project drops on March 10.

Macklemore Performs 'Trashy' 'Thrift Shop' Remix on 'Sesame Street' [VIDEO]

Whenever a rapper makes it on to the beloved children’s television show ‘Sesame Street,’ you know they’re officially part of pop culture.

Just ask Macklemore, who stopped by the famous make-believe neighborhood to make a rap video with Oscar the Grouch and his friends. The Seattle native performs a remix of ‘Thrift Shop’ to celebrate the idiom “one man’s trash in another man’s treasure.”

“I’m gonna pop some trash / Only got seven bags in my trash can / I’m, I’m, I’m, shopping, looking for some rubbish, this is gross and awesome,” he rhymes, adjusting the lyrics to match the adorable theme.

“Wouldn’t you like to rock a fish on your noodle? / Wouldn’t you like to wear the kit and kaboodle,” Mack continues, as he sits on the famous ‘Sesame Street’ steps where Susan and Gordon once lived. What a lucky guy.

Things begin after Oscar says, “There’s so much yucky stuff out there, I want to get it all,’ prompting Macklemore to show him how to wear garbage in style.
