Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low 'Beethoven'

Footaction

If the release of another Nike Kobe 9 Elite is music to your ears then this latest colorway is just for you. The “Beethoven” version of the sneaker is set to hit shelves this weekend and here is a look at the upcoming release.

The colorway comes in homage to both Beethoven’s 9th symphony and Kobe’s 9th sneaker and the two converge over a black and white Flyknit upper. With a midsole that features carbon fiber for flexible foot stabilization these are as technically sound as they are beautifully designed.

These are set to release to Nike retailers on Aug. 16 but we got the drop from Footaction who’ll have a few a few pair on deck. Act fast as they could very well sell out pretty quickly.

Kanye West Parts Ways With DJ Mano

Kanye West and his tour DJ Mano have parted ways after several years of touring together.

Despite reports that suggest West terminated Mano because of his fumbles on the turntables (see the video above), the DJ said that’s not the case.

Mano took to Twitter to lash out at Yeezy fans who were clowning him and tweeting homophobic comments.

“Gonna have a fun day blocking these kanye stans that are happy i don’t dj 4 him anymore hahahahaha!” he wrote. “A lot of u fans are low key gay and want more than a fan/relationship with the men they look up 2. I’m making a list and I’m collecting info. I’m gonna expose all the trolls.”

Mano also attacked the media for inaccurately reporting that he was fired from the tour. According to the DJ, he had to leave because he signed a deal with Warner/Chappell Music and is working on new projects.

“How n—-s saying drake got fired from a job when he got multiple jobs? these blogs are retarded,” he tweeted.

Mano has been West’s tour DJ for several years. The artist has also produced songs for Yeezy in the past. Most notably, he’s one of the producers listed on ‘Lost in the World’ from ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.’

However, as the fan-made clip above shows, Million Dollar Mano’s turntable flubs on the Yeezus tour could easily drive a perfectionist like West insane.

Nevertheless, Mano’s homophobic tweets below are unnecessary and doesn’t put him in a good light.

Lil Wayne Brings Out 50 Cent During Connecticut Tour Stop [VIDEO]

The concept of the Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour pits the two stars against each other in an app-based competition to see who receives the most fan support at every tour stop. One way to come out on top is definitely bringing out the big guest stars, like Lil Wayne did when he brought out 50 Cent and G-Unit.

The Young Money leader brought out the reunited group during the Hartford, Conn., concert on Wednesday (Aug. 13). Since Drake and Lil Wayne are going hit-for-hit, it makes sense that 50 Cent would end up performing his biggest song — ‘In Da Club.’

This wasn’t just a big moment in the show’s context. Lil Wayne and 50 Cent exchanged disses in the mid-00s but officially buried the hatchet when they appeared in photos together in 2012.

Staple x Clarks Tawyer Helix

atmos

Jeff Staple has done for the pigeon what Disney has done for the mouse. At base level both are typically painted as a nuisance on some levels but the vehicles they are attached to has made them iconic. So iconic in fact that brands like Clarks are clamoring to let Staple Design slap a pigeon on silhouettes like the Clarks Tawyer Helix to give it added street cred.

The Clarks Tawyer is a rugged chukka with a ridged outsole however when Staple puts their twist on the shoe it gets opened up. There resulting shoe features twisted strands of nubuck streaming from ankle to outsole in grey nubuck with reddish accents. The pigeon can be found embroidered on the heel as a fine finish for this great collaboration.

Without a concrete release date available we do know that these are set to release this month. Our advice is to stalk Jeff Staple‘s twitter and wait for an update.

French Montana and Khloe Kardashian Run the Neighborhood in 'Don't Panic' Video

French Montana chants, “Don’t panic,” repeatedly on the song of the same title but in the Eif Rivera-directed video, he argues just the opposite. When the rapper and a crossbow-carrying Khloe Kardashian do hit the neighborhood in masks, everyone should panic.

The majority of the visual follows Montana and his clown-masked crew as they wreak havoc on a town for no reason other than in the name of rap. Montana and Kardashian take off their masks and laugh it off as if it was all just a joke, but who’s paying the reimbursement for the burning car?

‘Don’t Panic,’ produced by DJ Mustard, is the first single off Montana’s upcoming ‘Mac & Cheese 4′ album, which is expected to drop this fall.

Joe Says R. Kelly Almost Sabotaged His Career [VIDEO]

The R&B game, much like the rap game, can be very competitive especially for artists trying to make it to the top. R&B veteran Joe learned how cutthroat the industry can be from another well-established singer.

In an interview with Power 105.1′s ‘The Breakfast Club,’ the ‘I Wanna Know’ crooner recalls a time when R. Kelly allegedly told radio programmers not to play Joe’s songs or support him. Apparently, Kells didn’t like that fact that Joe, who was a fellow artist on the Jive label, was getting more airplay than him.

“That happened back in the day, but we moved on from that,” says Joe. “I took it as a compliment. He’s a real G in the game [and] one of the best writers… he’s a prolific songwriter and producer. So I give him a lot of credit.”

“So for him to attempt to do that, I took it as a pat on the back,” he concludes.

When asked if he would work with R. Kelly, the singer didn’t give much hope on a collaboration anytime soon.

“I don’t really rock with the Kells,” Joe states. “But I got a lot of respect for him.”

For the record, Joe and R. Kelly have worked together before. Kells penned his romantic 2003 ballad ‘More & More‘ from his ‘And Then…’ album.

Competitive shade aside, Joe is currently promoting his latest album ‘Bridges,’ which is in stores now.

Atmosphere Has Epic Watergun Fight in 'Southsiders' Video

Summer may be coming to end, but that’s not stopping Atmosphere from having some fun in the sun. Slug and Ant unveiled this new music video for ‘Southsiders’ which sees the two enjoying the warm weather on the front lawn and posing on their respective rides as the neighborhood kids have an elaborate water gun fight. The lighthearted video wraps up with the kids surrounding Slug, blasting him with water as we see him rocking a “Coolest Dad Ever” t-shirt.

The visuals don’t tie in much with actual song besides Atmosphere proudly repping their South Minneapolis origins. Regardless, the track is a definite standout from their ‘Southsiders‘ album as Slug rhymes perfectly blend with Ant’s uproarious instrumental.

Slug raps, “Whole Southside been up in your guts / Don’t know how to describe how much you suck / And it’s not just you, but everyone of you plus / Follow each other around like a bunch of ducks / Just turn the music up and get dumb / Stretch your skin around the biggest drum / Born from a neighborhood of click and run / And already gave away my last stick of gum / Just find a torch and light the ceiling / Life’s too short to fight the feeling / I get a little paranoid for no reason / When the jukebox plays ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ / My level dries like a rebel / But it’s alright, it’s a rental / Your consent is so incidental / We want what we want, we ain’t trying to settle / We last forever through the echo / Some say special, some say essential / Went to hell to threaten the devil / And separate the horns like bass and treble.”

‘Southsiders’, the duo’s eighth studio album, is available now on Rhymesayers Ent. Atmosphere also added some more dates to their North of Hell Tour, so check out the lineup of additional shows at the Rhymesayers events page and see if they’ll be in a city near you.

Jhene Aiko Reveals 'Souled Out' Tracklist

Souled OutDef Jam

After a long delay, it looks like Jhene Aiko‘s debut album, ‘Souled Out,’ is finally ready to see the light of day. Its Sept. 9 release date is sticking and the tracklist is finally out.

‘Souled Out’ will be a 14-track effort featuring song titles that sound almost as otherworldly as the album cover: ‘Beautiful Ruin,’ ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ ‘Limbo Limbo Limbo.’ The album also won’t feature as many guests as the ‘Sail Out’ EP. Cocaine 80s and Common — who returns the favor after Aiko guested on his own ‘Nobody’s Smiling’ — are the only listed collaborations. ‘My Afternoon Dream’ and ‘You vs. Them’ are Target-exclusive bonuses.

Aiko isn’t going to have that much time to rest despite the amount of effort she put into her debut. She and ScHoolboy Q will join The Weeknd on the four-city King of the Fall tour, which starts on Sept. 19 with a stop at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Barclays Center.
