Extra! Extra! Read all about it! 50 Cent is taking over the newspaper industry. Well, not quite. The hip-hop toughie has been tapped to be a guest editor for New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l section next week.

“Tables are turning on Tuesday [Jan. 13] at the New York Daily News, I’ll be choosing the content!” he told Billboard. “Everyone better get ready.”

Fif will edit the section for the day, choose photos, write a couple of blurbs and even attend an editorial meeting.

“He’s coming to work, and he’s going to be the man in charge,” said Raakhee Mirchandani, the managing editor at the newspaper. “Maybe some of 50′s famous friends will be along for the ride too: “We’re hoping for a little Chelsea Handler Skype or email action.”

Readers can also get involved by submitting questions to 50 for a live online chat from the newsroom on Tuesday (Jan. 13) at 1:30PM EST. You can tweet your questions by using the hashtag #NYDNChat.

This isn’t 50 Cent’s first time in the editor’s chair. Back in 2003, he curated the 50th issue of XXL magazine. In the publication, the G-Unit leader interviewed Talib Kweli.

We can’t wait to see what 50 Cent has in store for the New York Daily News on Tuesday. Have fun, Fif!

YG Reveals He's Going to Be a Father [VIDEO]

Rapper YG‘s ‘Krazy Life’ is about to get even crazier now that he is going to be an expectant father. On Friday (Jan. 9), the Bompton native announced on Hot 97’s ‘Ebro in the Morning’ that he has a daughter on the way.

“I got one on the way,” he said. “The due date is June 15. A little Gemini.”

This will be the ‘Who Do You Love’ rapper’s first child; he didn’t reveal the identity of the baby’s mother. Although YG is going to be a first-time dad, he already feels like a father to his extended family.

“I’m like already a dad. I take care of my whole family and they all grown,” he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, YG also talked about how he ended his brief feud with DJ Mustard — with fisticuffs.

“Me and the homey, we fought and we got it over with and we homies, we gonna stay homies. This ain’t the first time,” he said.

Sneaker of the Week: Don C x Air Jordan 2

Kenlu

Kanye West may have moved over to adidas but it’s still all G.O.O.D. over at Nike. Apparently, West’s former consigliere-turned-hat designer Don “Don C” Crawley has secured himself a fresh Jordan brand collaboration. It’s so fresh that it was a shoe-in for our Sneaker of the Week spotlight.

Don C decided to take the Air Jordan 2 and deck it out in an all-blue colorway — sort of a flip on West’s Yeezy 2 “Red October” sneakers. The shoe is outfitted in a blue quilted Italian leather upper with suede accents. On the insole, you will find the co-branded Just Don and Jordan brand emblems.

A white dust bag and gold Air Jordan pins are also included to make the cipher complete on these luxurious kicks. The bright red and gold box embossed with the Jordan Wings logo is an added plus as well.

If you are interested in lacing your feet with a pair, it’s rumored they will hit retail on Jan. 31. If this is true, all we can say is good luck copping a pair.

Queen Latifah to Play Blues Singer Bessie Smith in HBO Film

Queen Latifah as Bessie SmithHBO

Queen Latifah has star quality and a lovely voice to match, so it only makes sense that she portray the legendary blues singer Bessie Smith in a new musical biopic for HBO.

According to Deadline.com, the Flavor Unit leader was actually offered the role over two decades ago when she was 22 years old, but she declined because she didn’t feel like she was old enough or had enough life experience.

“If anything, I came to have a little more story,” she told television critics at the TCA Winter TV Press Tour 2015 in Pasadena, Calif. “When the project came my way, I don’t think I had the life journey that went along with it. I got to live more of the blues.”

The Dee Rees-directed film follows the story of Smith, who became the most popular blues singer of the 1920s and 1930s. In fact, she was given the name The Empress of the Blues due to her overwhelming popularity and success. Tragically, she passed away in 1937 at the young age of 43, after getting into a car crash.

The first time Latifah was offered the role, she didn’t know who the blues legend was. “I had no idea who Bessie Smith was, to be honest with you,” she admitted. “I had to become familiar with who she was in particular.”

The former talk show host also said she’s developed a tremendous amount of love for blues music.

“I’ve gained such a great amount of respect for the blues,” she said. “The blues are just as stunning to me now as when this first came to me. If anything, I feel like I have a little more of the story of what Bessie had to say.”

HBO’s film ‘Bessie,’ which also stars Michael Kenneth Williams, Khandi Alexander, Mike Epps and others, will debut this spring, although a specific air date has not been confirmed.
