Tupac Shakur's Old Handwritten Poems Released Online
It’s pretty well-known at this point that Tupac Shakur was more than just a rapper, he was a complete artist, able to act, dance, and write relatable songs with heavy emotion.
And if you didn’t know already, he was also a poet, and thanks to the folks at Noisey, we get to see what he was thinking and writing at the young age of 17.
Pac’s first manager, Leila Steinberg, released three poems: ‘Things That Make Hearts Break,’ ‘Cupid’s Smile II,’ and ‘A Love Unspoken,’ respectively, for his fans to read.
In ‘Things That Make Hearts Break,’ the late rapper proved that he was in touch with his feelings and wasn’t reluctant to share them on paper.
“Lonely children, unanswered crys, and souls who have given up hoping. R fairy tales that never come true and selfish people who lie 2 me, selfish people just like u,” he wrote.
From being the son of a Black Panther, to joining Digital Underground, to being the rapper that we know today, Pac had a very eventful life. Through his poems we can to see the rapper’s struggles, triumphs and personal contradictions.
These poems were also previously published in Tupac Shakur’s poetry book ‘The Rose That Grew From Concrete,’ but you can see the original handwritten versions here.

Prince, 3rdEyeGirl Perform Three-Song Medley on 'SNL' [VIDEO]
Prince, along with his band 3rdEyeGirl (plus guest vocalist Lianne La Havas) performed a three-song set on ‘Saturday Night Live’ over the weekend. And of course, they killed it.
The Purple One sung three songs from his just-released projects ‘Art Official Age’ and ‘Plectrumelectrum.’ The medley of ‘Clouds’, ‘Marz’ and ‘Anotherlove’ featured plenty of guitar work from Prince and his power trio 3rdEyeGirl — Donna Grantis on guitar, Ida Nielsen on bass and Hannah Ford Welton on drums — backing him up.
An Afro-ed Prince — dressed in black and gold, and wearing sunglasses with a lens for his third eye — was on piano first as he performed ‘Clouds’ with a beautiful clear blue skyline in the background. Afterward, the R&B icon rocked it out with 3rdEyeGirl as they performed ‘Marz’ and ‘Anotherlove,’ respectively.
Prince played an eight-minute set, a first for ‘SNL,’ and he was sharp and fantastic. His guitar solo at the end recalls some of best virtuosic playing, particularly during his Super Bowl halftime show in 2007.
In the end, Prince, along with his band 3rdEyeGirl, arguably, gave one of the best musical performances this season on ‘SNL.’

Big K.R.I.T. Declares Himself 'King of the South'
Many rappers have claimed to be the “King of the South,” most notably T.I., but if Big K.R.I.T. as it his way, fans will honor him with that honorary title for the foreseeable future.
The Mississippi rapper is set to release his heavily anticipated ‘Cadillactica’ on Nov. 11 and has only raised the hype for the album with the quality of tracks he’s let loose so far. His latest song ‘King of the South’ may be the most spellbinding one yet.
K.R.I.T. has established himself as an elite talent both on the mic and behind the boards, but his rhyming is on another level here. The beat he crafted for ‘King of the South’ is simply a playground to flex his mastery with wordplay and a ferocious flow.
On it, he raps, “Light at the end of the tunnel, when you’re flexing it’s hard to be humble / Talking fourth down now I can’t throw the ball to Def Jam ’cause they might fumble / Kick that south flow, betcha can’t get it / Tryna’ f— the world, but my d— won’t fit / My peers like K.R.I.T. the world won’t feel it, you wanna be king, gotta claim that s—.”
If this song is any indication, ‘Cadillactica’ may prove Big K.R.I.T is the rightful heir to the southern hip-hop throne.
