Buckshot: Hot 97 Is About to Die Out, Radio Is Done! (@buckshot)

Duck Down's Buckshot sat down with SOHH for an exclusive interview, where he broke down in detail exactly why he feels New York's Hot 97 is on its way out of Hip-Hop relevancy.

Buckshot argues that the station is out of touch with listeners and is basically on a respirator at the moment.

"I love Hot 97 because they're about to die out. They're like a broke cookie. You know what Hot 97 is like? They're like a sock with a hole in the back. If you're struggling, you're going to wear it but at some point you gotta throw it out because the bottom of your feet are going to get ashy and crack up."

He then brought up the recent news that veteran radio personality Angie Martinez left Hot 97 for rival station Power 105, though he admits he's not particularly up on Power 105's programming.

"It's people leaving Hot 97 by the second. Hot 97 is going to be like a dusty factory that was popping years ago like a relic. You're going to take your kids past the building like, 'I remember when this place was bumping, honey.' Everybody is going to Power 105 and I'm not pro-105 because I'm not fully aware of what they've got going on. I know they support hip-hop."

Buckshot ended off saying radio in general will be over soon as well.

"I told them, 'Y'all done!' Radio stations are done....All the places that are not digital are going to be done. We told people this 15 years ago when we created DuckDown.com. We told them this was going to happen."

Is Buckshot right? Is Hot 97 and/or radio in general dead in the water? Sound off below.

Jennifer Hudson Drops 'It's Your World' With R. Kelly, Teases New Album

After tearing up the 2014 BET Awards with her new track, ‘It’s Your World,’ Jennifer Hudson releases the full song with guest vocals by R. Kelly.

“I’ll be your servant, your slave, everything you ever wanted, baby,” J Hud sings to her man in the upbeat, dance track.

Kellz jumps in the end with his response. “See, a woman like you baby, shouldn’t have to ask for nothing baby,” he sings.

Though Hudson performed the track during the BET Awards Sunday (June 29), R. Kelly didn’t join her onstage for the live version.

‘It’s Your World’ is from the ‘American Idol’ winner’s forthcoming third album. She described the sound as making fans “happy.” “I think it’s more of a feeling, more than a genre, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with Pharrell and Timbaland, and I love their process,” Hudson said. “They allow you to express yourself musically as an artist, as a writer, in every way. It’s been a lot of fun.”

Listen to a sampler of the album, which is currently untitled, including snippets of ‘Dangerous’ and ‘He Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere,’ below.

A.P.C. x Kanye West – Fall/ Winter 2014 Collection

A.P.C. Kanye Westusonline.apc.fr

Although we are in knee deep in the summer heat, it’s always good to keep your eyes out for the hottest fall gear.

French clothing brand A.P.C. has teamed up with Kanye West once again for a fall/winter collection that’s dropping in a couple of weeks.

Much of the designs are on the military theme with olive and camo colorways for the majority of the outerwear. For example, there are Army cargo pants, Swiss Army Parka coats, a water-repellent bomber jacket and a camo T-shirt in the collection.

The rest of the 16-piece capsule is in tune to West’s cool yet avant-garde style. You have the plain white T-shirt, the Kanye Jeans and matching work shirt (both made of stonewashed Japanese denim), the airport sweater and the Biker pants.

Please keep in mind that these items will be expensive so save up your coins. The pair’s last collaborative apparel line featured $265 pair of jeans and a $120 T-shirt.

And if you think that no one is going to pay large sums of money for Kanye garb — think again. Yeezy’s spring 2013 collection sold out within a few minutes after debuting on A.P.C.’s online store.

The A.P.C. x Kanye West Fall/Winter Collection will be available online and in retail stores worldwide on July 17.

A$AP Mob, Cam'ron Featured in GQ's 'Harlem Reshuffled' [PHOTOS]

A$AP MobGQ

A$AP Mob and Cam’ron get dressed to the nines for GQ magazine’s fashion spread featuring locals from Harlem, N.Y.

Dubbed “Harlem Reshuffled,” the fellas are dressed in tailored suits and fly kicks for the summer season.

The A$AP Mob crew (A$AP Rocky, Illz, Bari, Yams, Ant, Twelvyy, Nast and Ferg) are mostly wearing suits with dressy T-shirts and no ties. As GQ points out: “When you’re the hottest crew in Harlem, you don’t need a tie.”

A$AP Rocky say his sense of style is inspired by the Harlem streets.

“Harlem has always been known for its swagger and pizzazz,” he said. “I get my high-end look downtown, but my street style comes from uptown.”

Meanwhile, Cam looks very dapper in his elegant suit (designed by Brunello Cucinelli) with his boo, model JuJu, by his side. Gone are the infamous pink fur coats and Timberland boots that he once rocked, which started a fashion craze. Today, the Dipset leader is an older and wiser artist and his clothes reflect that.

As GQ writes: “A double-breasted suit is still the baller move for date night at a lounge like Ginny’s Supper Club or a bar like 67 Orange Street.”

Overall, it’s a good look for A$AP Mob and Cam’ron, whose fashion tastes have always remained impeccable.

Christ Bearer Wants to Do Porn to Prove His Penis Works [VIDEO]

Guess who’s back? Christ Bearer, the rapper who infamously severed his penis during a suicide attempt, has recovered and is back on his rap grind.

TMZ caught the Wu-Tang affiliated rapper, outside of a barber shop in Long Beach, Calif., and he was all fired up. In the midst of him babbling about his upcoming CD, the cameraman asked him about his manhood and whether or not it’s still in working condition.

Bearer, whose real name is Andre Johnson, appeared agitated by the question but answered it in a very unusual way.

TMZ: “Does it work?”

Christ Bearer: “Does it work?!? Can Chris Brown dance? Can Kanye West rant? Can Jay Z fight off a trick?”

The answer to those three questions is yes. But that’s beside the point.

To prove that his penis is fully functional, Bearer is interested in doing porn. Shockingly, a porn tycoon has expressed some interest in having the rapper “perform.”

Steve Hirsch, the owner of adult entertainment company Vivid, told TMZ that he’s definitely interested but wants to check out “the goods” first before he makes an offer.

On a much brighter note, Bearer did offer some bit of wisdom in the video.

“Kids don’t do drugs,” he said. “Say no to drugs.”

We agreed wholeheartedly.

Last night's BET Awards brought out some major players in Hip-Hop. Twitter noted how great stars like Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Pharrell, Missy Elliott, Fabolous and more looked on the red carpet and in the theater. One celeb didn't get away so easily.

Nike Kaishi Colorways

Packer Shoes

Well, what do we have here? If the Nike Kaishi feels familiar to you it should as the sneaker appears to be built with the DNA of one of Nike’s more popular summer smashes in mind.

Nike didn’t have to look far for inspiration for this runner as you can feel the blood of the Nike Roshe Run coursing through its veins with a simple glance. The mesh upper however has been reinforced with hits of suede and the outsole has been retooled a bit for a new streamline feel. For their first drop we are getting an eyeful of three colorways including chilling red, black and dark magnet/volt.

This is is one promising silhouette and we can’t wait to see what Nike does with them down the line. If you want to be an early adopter however Packer Shoes will have them in July for $70 a pop.

Metta World Peace Releases New Song 'I'm The Best'

Metta World PeaceSay So Entertainment

Now that Metta World Peace is a free agent in the NBA, the former Los Angeles Lakers player has some free time on his hands.

The b-baller-turned rapper has been in the studio cooking up a new track for the streets. We were expecting to hear a car wreck but it’s not a bad song.

Seriously.

Peace’s song ‘I’m the Best’ is a braggadocious track in which he raps about using his mind to achieve success in life.

Over a melodic piano groove, Peace insists that he’s going to maintain his integrity in the rap game and still collect Franklins no matter what.

“The only man in the biz dungarees and chips / Turning down two mil just to prove my logic / It’s a whole another monster dealing with Ron Artest / No swag, just G and the streets love me,” he raps.

Lyrically, Peace is not the best. He needs some work on creating a coherent 16-bar verse. But compared to other basketball players trying to rap, he’s far from the worst.

We don’t know where Metta World Peace is going with this song but considering that he loves hip-hop, we might hear more music from him.

What do you think of Metta World Peace’s song, ‘I’m the Best’? Tell us in the comments below.

Ab-Soul vs. K Camp — The Boombox Battle

Ab-Soul K CampThe Boombox

Ab-Soul cleaned up yet again in The Boombox Battle last week. His song, ‘Hunnid Stax,’ took 72.06 percent of the vote, leaving Troy Ave’s ‘Your Style (Remix)’ with only 27.94 percent of the fan vote.

‘Hunnid Stax’ is off Ab-Soul’s recently released LP, ‘These Days…’ The rapper and fellow TDE member Schoolboy Q rhyme about hustling and making as much money as possible. Kenny Beats provides the rhythm as the two hip-hop artists show off their distinct rapping styles — Ab-Soul’s staccatto approach against Schoolboy’s laid-back flow.

“Who gettin’ that dough / Who gettin’ that cake / Who gettin’ that bread / Put a ticket in your head if you can’t relate / Who gettin’ that fatty / Who gettin’ that change,” Ab-Soul spits at the top of track.

Meanwhile, K Camp is Ab’s opponent this week with his song ‘Cut Her Off.’ Featuring 2 Chainz, the ATL native calls out all the cheating ladies out there. Produced by WillaFool, the track may have initially dropped in December 2013 but it’s been heating up this year as it climbs the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“So what you saying, ho? / You know I’m the man, ho / Nothing but a bird, I’m a leave you where you stand, ho / Heard you got a man, ho / Hope he understand, though / You ain’t nothing but a creeper, baby I’m just saying, though / Saying, though,” K Camp delivers on the chorus.

Will Ab-Soul grab another win this week? Or will K Camp’s track grab the fans’ attention and get him The Boombox Battle crown? You’ll be able to vote for your favorite once per hour until the polls shut down on Tues., July 8, at 10AM ET.

Twitter Goes Off on "Misogynist" Robin Thicke During #AskThicke (@robinthicke)

If the #AskDraya and #AskRKelly trending topics of the past have taught the public anything, it's that Twitter has absolutely no chill when it comes to celebs attempting to connect with fans online. During official BET and CRWN trending topics, Draya and R. Kelly were completely slandered. Apparently VH1 didn't get the memo and took a shot with #AskThicke, where fans could ask the R&B crooner whatever they wanted, and as per Twitter, the Q&A was anything but cordial.

Twitter immediately flooded the trending topic with accusations of misogyny, mostly based on his smash single "Blurred Lines," for its lyrical content and accompanying video that many found degrading towards women. Quite a few people took shots at Thicke's unstable marriage to actress Paula Patton as well.

Check out some of the awkward #AskThicke questions above.

When asked if he would ever do a sex tape, Scrappy says no, but if he did he would need at least $12 million. He feels he's a branding specialist who will make the tape different, and that it would be worth his price tag.

Nike Air Trainer Max '91 'Stone Grey'

atmos

The term “Golden Era” applies to sneakers just as much as it does music and as far as classics go the Nike Air Trainer Max ’91 definitely ranks high. The Bo Jackson-related release comes back around every so often and apparently its that time of the year again.

The sneaker’s aggressive training upper is met with one of its most popular colorways which is stone grey suede and yellow accents. Hits of black and white help facilitate things as well and the end result is one helluva shoe.

Jeezy Debuts 'Seen It All' Featuring Jay Z, Announces Album Release Date

JeezyJohn Parra, Getty Images

It’s been three long years since Jeezy‘s ‘TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition,’ but he made some promising strides towards his follow-up album last night (June 30). In addition to announcing the release date — Sept. 2 — of his forthcoming ‘Seen It All’ LP, the CTE CEO debuted the project’s title track, which just so happens to feature an appearance from Jay Z.

Between ‘I Do,’ ‘Real As It Gets’ and, of course, ‘Go Crazy,’ Jay Jenkins and Shawn Carter have always made a pretty good team, and this latest collaboration doesn’t buck the trend. Supplied by hypnotic, woodwind-laced production from former Taylor Gang staple Cardo, the ex-dope boys rap about what they both know best: pushing weight.

Jeezy handles the hook duties and leads off with an opening verse, taking a trip down memory lane and winding up back on the corner. However, it’s Hov’s sharp pen and eye for retrospective detail that really steals the show as he recalls both the spoils (“Big body all white s— looked like a yacht”) and setbacks (“Emory got knocked, we was down 10″) of selling crack.

According to Cardo, ‘Seen It All’ was originally intended for last year’s ‘Magna Carta… Holy Grail.’ But it might be a good thing this was left ’til later, because the game’s been needing a Jay Z verse like this all year. Listen to the track below and purchase on iTunes here.

Man Hides Drug Money from Police in Rectum During Arrest

According to Global Grind, 30-year-old Tyrone Booker was arrested for engaging in an alleged drug ring. When the police handcuffed Booker and put him the cop car, the suspect had around $400 in his wallet. The police left, and when they arrived back to the car, they noticed that the money was missing. Booker went through a full body search, but the money didn't show up.

Police later noticed surveillance footage from the cop car showing Booker lubricating his fingers and shoving them in his pants. He later confessed to balling up the money, wrapping it around a rubber band, and shoving it up his rectum.

Booker was then taken to the emergency room where the money was removed. Officials were so bothered by the Booker's actions, they didn't recount the money. Booker was charged for resisting officer without violence, introducing or smuggling contraband into a detention facility, tampering with evidence, and selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of a convenience business.

Is Chris Brown Back to His Hard Partying Ways After Jail? [VIDEO]

Did Chris Brown party a little too hard after the 2014 BET Awards? By the looks of the video above, it sure seems like it.

According to TMZ, Breezy was carried out of a Los Angeles hotspot after the Sunday night (June 29) fete, appearing to be too intoxicated to walk on his own.

The singer apparently left club Playhouse early Monday morning (June 30) and needed assistance from several men, who helped support Brown as he made his way to the passenger side of an orange Lamborghini. The entertainer, recently freed from jail, was wobbling back and forth and looked as if he’d fall to the ground if he were left to take steps by himself. Breezy’s boo, Karrueche, who was seated in the driver’s seat, drives the superstar away.

If he was indeed drunk, Breezy had a lot to celebrate. Earlier in the night, the ‘Loyal’ crooner returned to the stage for his first performance since his release from jail.
