Rap newcomer Fetty Wap has went from being a virtual unknown to an emerging star overnight. He got a chance to raise his stock even further with his performance of “Trap Queen” at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Apr. 12).
During Fall Out Boy‘s performance of “Centuries,” the New Jersey rhymer emerged on the MTV Movie Awards stage and joined the group for a guitar-charging performance of his hit single. Dressed in a black and yellow jacket and silver pants, Fetty Wap got the crowd hyped as he rocked the mic alongside FOB guitarist Joe Trohman. The Boombox’s #NextUp artist did a phenomenal job and looked the part of a bonafide star with his assortment of jewelry.
New Jersey has a rich history of rap legends but is far from a hip-hop hotbed. Fetty Wap is looking to change that fact with his lively brand of rap music. Signed to Lyor Cohen’s latest musical venture 300 Entertainment, Fetty Wap and his Remy Boyz clique is in position to truly place a stamp on the rap game.
The 24-year-old rhymer’s performance at the MTV Movie Awards could net him even more potential fans as he continues to grow his brand as an artist.

Splish Splash! Kanye West took a bath in a lake during a surprise free concert in Armenia Sunday night (April 12).
After a week of sightseeing with his wife, Kim Kardashian, the mercurial rapper decide to perform a free show for fans at Swan Lake (aka Karapi Lich) in Yerevan. Kim went on Twitter to announce the show and fans flocked to an area where a makeshift stage was set up.
After a long delay, Yeezy kicked off his set with “Stronger” follow by “Jesus Walks,” “Power,” “Touch the Sky” and “All of the Lights.” During his performance of “Good Life,” West decided to jump into the lake where he moshed with a hundreds of his fans. That’s when police abruptly came in and shut down the show completely.
“Such an exciting crazy night! So happy I got to rock out with everyone in Armenia on our last night here!!!! #EpicNight #ArmenianPride,” tweeted Kim.
Epic night, indeed.
West’s concert was so monumental that one fan scooped up a bag a water from the lake and is now selling it on eBay (see photo below).

Bobby Brown Makes First Public Appearance Since Bobbi Kristina's Hospitalization [VIDEO]
Bobby Brown stepped away from his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s bedside to make his first public appearance since her hospitalization. The veteran R&B crooner performed a scheduled gig at the Soul Food Festival in Los Angeles on Saturday (April 11).
During his performance, Brown took a moment to address the “rough times” he’s been going through with his daughter’s medical dilemma and thanked the crowd for their support.
“I wanna thank all of y’all for coming out tonight, for supporting me and my family,” he said. “Rough times are rough times. Hard times are hard times. I don’t know what the hell I’m going through right now, but I’m giving it to God and letting him deal with it.”
In the video above, the 46-year-old singer was quite energetic as he performed “On Our Own.” Afterward, a TMZ cameraman asked him a ridiculous question. “How often do you travel to Atlanta?” To which Brown replied, “Right now.”
It’s been almost three months since Bobbi Kristina was rushed to a hospital after she was found submerged face-down in a bathtub on Jan. 31. Since then, the 22-year-old singer has been on a ventilator shortly after arriving at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Ga. Bobbi was later transferred to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, before being moved to a rehabilitation facility. She remains on life support.
Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, who is Whitney’s mother, told New York’s WBLS FM radio that she remains optimistic for her granddaughter’s recovery. “So I’m asking everyone to pray to the Lord, who we know can do something about it,” she said.

Taraji P. Henson Impersonates Nicki Minaj in 'SNL' Skit [VIDEO]
We have watched Taraji P. Henson get dramatic as Cookie on Fox’s hit series Empire, but the veteran actress displayed her comedic side during her hosting stint on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. In one funny skit, Henson played rapper Nicki Minaj.
In a fictitious promo for Home 2, several hip-hoppers were impersonated for the follow-up of the animated movie, which features the voice of Rihanna. Jay Pharaoh does a phenomenal job mimicking Kendrick Lamar’s voice, but it’s Henson’s over-the-top portrayal of the pink-haired rapper that will leave you chuckling a bit. As Minaj, Henson is spot-on as she voices the twins Thwick & Thwack each with their own unique personalities. Even her white male co-star was left shaken by the Queen Barbz’s zany antics in the studio booth.
Elsewhere in the show, Henson plays Empire‘s Cookie in a bit that involves her making a cameo appearance on Sesame Street. The hilarious skit features Cookie causing havoc in the fairytale neighborhood.
In one scene, she convinces Bert that his longtime buddy Ernie is not to be trusted. “He’s trying to play you,” she tells him. Cookie also snatches a treat away from another Cookie Monster and we are not going to tell you what she did to Elmo. It’s not pretty.
Overall, Henson brought sass and jokes with her performance on Saturday Night Live. It’s always good to see actors have fun on the show and poke fun at themselves. Check out the videos.

Nelly Denies Ownership of Drugs Found on Bus During Arrest
Nelly stunned rap fans with his arrest in Tennessee for drug possession on Saturday (April 11). Police found meth, marijuana and guns on his tour bus during a traffic stop. The St. Louis rhymer, through his attorney, says none of the drugs found on the vehicle was his.
As we previously reported, the “Hot in Herre” rapper was traveling through the southern state when police pulled over his bus for not having proper stickers. After cops smelled an odor of marijuana, a search of the vehicle followed and that’s when they discovered the drugs. In addition to authorities finding drugs on his tour bus, several handguns were also found as well as drug paraphernalia.
Nelly was charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 40-year-old rapper was released from Putnam County Jail on a $10,000 dollar bond.
Brian Jones, another passenger on the bus, was also arrested for possession of a handgun.
Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, claims that his client had nothing to do with the contraband that was found on the bus. He claims 15 to 20 people had access to the bus before state troopers pulled them over.
Rosenblum also told TMZ that he questions the cops’ discovery of meth stating that only small amount of [ecstasy] was retrieved. “Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered,” he said.
Nelly is due in back in court on June 19 to answer the charges.

Black Rob Makes a Comeback With New Album 'Genuine Article'
After a four-year hiatus, Black Rob is planning a comeback in the rap game. The veteran rhymer just released a new single “Welcome to My Life,” off his new album, Genuine Article, which drops later this month.
On “Welcome to My Life,” Rob details his long journey back into the spotlight. “When you are doing life shit don’t suffice / I’m confused, I’m scratching my head like lice,” he raps, adding, “One thing’s for sure, big bruh, I’m a witness / You can’t put a real rap nigga out of business.”
Rob’s album, Genuine Article, boasts guest appearances from Murda Mook, Tek of Smif-N-Wessun and Sean Price with production assists from Easy Mo Bee, Numonics and Coptic.
In addition to the album, Rob will appear in a reality TV show called Come Back Kings. The series follows him, Mr. Cheeks, Ed Lover, Calvin Richardson, Treach and others trying to turn their setbacks into comebacks.
Rob was once a prominent rapper on Diddy’s Bad Boy Records who recorded the classic 1999 hit, “Whoa.” But his success was derailed after he got caught up in criminal activity and had to do a four-year prison stint.

Nelly Arrested for Felony Drug Possession in Tennessee
Nelly’s cruise through Tennessee on his tour bus ended in handcuffs on Saturday morning (April 11).
The “Hot in Herre” rapper was traveling through the southern state when a state trooper pulled over the vehicle because a proper U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association sticker was not displayed. A search of the bus, which Nelly and five other people were riding in, after the police officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle turned up “five colored crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia,” CNN reports.
The 40-year-old rhymer, born Cornell Haynes, Jr., has been charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition to authorities finding drugs on his tour bus, several handguns were also found. A gold-plated .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a .45-caliber Taurus pistol and a .500 Smith & Wesson magnum turned up in the search along with 100 small Ziploc bags usually used to sell narcotics.
According to Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, his client is not linked to any of the illegal substances found. Rosenblum is “extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.” He claims 15 to 20 people had access to the bus before state troopers pulled them over.
Brian Jones, a passenger on the bus, was also arrested for possession of a handgun, TMZ reports.
The St. Louis native was on his way to his hometown prior to his arrest.
