Jim Jones has dabbled in reality television and the world of fashion, but the rapper is looking to up his star power with a little help from Tyrese.

The rapper reached out to Tyrese on Instagram asking about a possible mentorship with the A-lister.

"let me b ur apprentice," he commented on the actor's post. "i will pay my own everything n I will b punctual n diligent n ready to make store runs if i have too no pride Im just tryin to graduate to the next level of entertainment."

The video Tyrese posted was of himself and Ludacris on the set of Fast 7. Tyrese hasn't responded publicly to the rapper's request. Jones has done a few films including State property 2 and starred in an episode of The Wire.

Ab-Soul Doesn't Believe ScHoolBoy Q Was the Target of Shooting (@schoolboyq @abdashsoul)

TDE's Ab-Soul is busy making the rounds promoting his new album, "These Days..." and recently stopped by The Breakfast Club where he briefly addressed his label and groupmate SchoolBoy Q's recent concert where a gunman shot up his car.

Soul doesn't believe Q was the actual target, and the crew still isn't sure why the ride was hit up in the first place.

"We still trying to figure it out," Ab-Soul said. "But to be honest with you, it's looking like nobody was looking for Q. It looked like they were looking for somebody else...Like I told you. I don't have any enemies...That's why I said we have reason to believe that had nothing to do with us or ScHoolboy Q. So, that feels good."

Break Bread: Columbus Short to Pay Estranged Wife $25k a Month (@ColumbusShort1)

Since being let go from the hit TV show "Scandal," actor Columbus Short has been going through some serious drama of his own, and to top it all off, he's now been ordered to break major bread with his estranged wife.

Short not showing up to court certainly didn't help his case, as he's now been ordered to pay $17,005 a month in spousal support in addition to $4,542 a month in child support. He's also been ordered to cover soon-to-be ex-wife Tanee Short's legal bills. Neither Short nor a lawyer/representative was present to argue his side of the case.

Short allegedly violated a court-ordered restraining order filed by Tanee several times, and was also accused of threatening to kill her and commit suicide.

Vic Mensa Gets Raunchy on 'Major Payne'

When it comes to putting it down in the bedroom, Vic Mensa simply isn’t playing around. That’s what the rapper details on his new cut ‘Major Payne,’ produced by Michael Uzowuru.

Right at the top of the song, the ‘Innanetape’ creator spits of threesomes and sheer freakiness. “You coming home with me and my bitch / I wanna see you strip / She wants you, you want her, now kiss… Two at a time I want double the trouble / I’m taking off with the humble to hubble,” he rhymes over the head-nodding electronic rhythm.

Mensa even says he wants to record some of the action, and cause a little harm to a certain male hater. “Dutty whining Jamaican girl / Get the camera let’s make a film / Tore them one, make it count / He’s trash, Let’s take him out,” the Chicago native rhymes.

‘Major Payne’ will likely appear on his forthcoming EP, ‘Street Lights.’

Whether it’s on a red carpet or a magazine cover, Rihanna isn’t shy about showing off her body. However, for the latest cover of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, the ‘Pour It Up’ singer decides to explore her modest side.

Dressed in modern takes of traditional Middle Eastern clothing and accessorized with a number of head scarfs and mesh veils, RiRi looks elegant and very regal. ‘The New Modesty, Cover Up in Style’ is the tagline for the cover girl.

Since she’s a lauded fashion maven, this style direction was a welcomed one for Rihanna. Yet, fans know her for celebrating the skin she’s in more than covering up, especially this year. At the CFDA Awards earlier this month, she left little to the imagination, wearing a sheer glittering gown that exposed her breasts.

“I wanted to do something high fashion but something still traditional to their culture. And that’s what we’re doing. We’re having fun with it,” RiRi revealed in a behind-the-scenes video for the Harper’s Bazaar Arabia shoot.

August Alsina and Pusha T Highlight Suicide in 'FML' Video

With suicide rates rising in the U.S., August Alsina tackles the taboo topic in the video for ‘FML,’ featured on his debut LP, ‘Testimony.’

Teaming up with director Payne Lindsey — he’s helmed August’s videos for ‘Hell On Earth’ and ‘Don’t Forget About Me’ — the R&B singer not only serves as co-director but also puts himself in one of the more graphic situations in the visual. The Def Jam signee hangs himself in the middle of the living room. However, he’s not alone in the suicide. Pusha T, who opens up the track, watches himself being wheeled away in a stretcher only to realize he shot himself in the head.

Although this might not be the easiest video to watch, August makes the message clear: the answer for many people who can’t deal with their trouble is to end it all.

At the end of the clip, the crooner leaves the viewer with some parting words:

I’ve been where you are… through the struggle and through the pain. It’s what makes us stronger than most. When there seems to be no way forward in life, you have to make a way.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number appears on screen before the video comes to a close.

The Weeknd Headlining King of the Fall Tour with Jhene Aiko, Schoolboy Q

A day after releasing his new track ‘Often,’ the Weeknd reveals that he’s hitting the road this fall. The King of the Fall tour is the Canadian singer’s headlining tour featuring Schoolboy Q and Jhene Aiko.

The trek will hit stadiums in major cities in September and October. The tour kicks off at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 19.

The trio will also perform in Toronto at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on Sept. 21 and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in Oct. 9. The jaunt wraps up on Oct. 10 at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, Calif.

Tickets will go on sale for the general public on July 11. Citi card members will cop pre-sale tickets starting July 8 at 10AM ET.

All three artists are veterans of the road. Schoolboy Q just finished his ‘Oxymoron’ world tour, while the Weeknd and Aiko both performed on Drake’s trek, Would You Like a Tour? earlier this year.

There’s no word if the Weeknd will release a new project before he embarks on his major tour.

French Montana Pleads Guilty in Traffic Court Case, Speaks on Rob Kardashian's Happiness [VIDEO]

French Montana may be traipsing around Hollywood with his girlfriend Khloe Kardashian as of late, but today (June 26), the rapper found himself in a New York City courtroom pleading guilty to a traffic violation.

In February, the Coke Boys member was driving in his Rolls Royce, on his way to a party, when he was stopped by police. Unfortunately for French, he didn’t have a valid driver’s license on him. As a result, he was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

As he was heading into the court, the Bronx, N.Y., native was approached by TMZ, and asked about the sizzurp and weed addiction that Rob Kardashian — Khloe’s brother — is rumored to have. When asked if rehab was needed, French stood up for his lady’s younger sibling.

“Let him live man. Let him be happy,” the ‘Excuse My French’ creator said. “He has to live man, talk to Rob. You got to let people be themselves… Everybody do what they do, [they] have their own personal life. You got to let people be them.”

As far as the traffic court case, French paid a fine of $588, which he’ll have to hand in by Aug. 26.

Cam'ron Previews New Song Featuring Nicki Minaj [VIDEO]

Fortunately for us, a chance meeting on the road allowed us to hear some new music, featuring one of the most popular rappers of the moment.

According to Cam’ron‘s Instagram account, he ran into his manager while both were in their vehicles, and during the meeting, the Harlem, N.Y.-bred rapper was playing a never-before-heard-song featuring Nicki Minaj. Killa even joked about his manager having way too nice of a car during the run-in.

“Yo, Why I pulled up on my manager @britishthetitan and he driving da #S63,” Cam wrote as the caption to the video of the moment. “How much I am I paying you exactly n—-? And don’t be tryna pull off on me neither n—-. Yeah dats Nicki Minaj in da back round.”

This isn’t just a Nicki track but rather a collabo between the head Barb and Cam. “Ayo Cam I’m the baddest bitch / You was acting mad happy when you bagged this bitch / You was telling my mother you loved me all the time / Pink range you was pushing that was sorta mine,” spits Nicki over a catchy guitar riff.

Will this track appear on Nicki Minaj’s forthcoming LP, ‘The Pink Print,’ or will the effort show up on a Cam’ron project? We’ll just have to wait and listen.

Frank Ocean Fires Management and PR Team

R&B crooner Frank Ocean has parted ways with his management and PR team as he prepares to release his second album.

BuzzFeed reports that Ocean fired Christian and Kelly Clancy of 4 Strikes Management, who have managed his career since 2010. The ‘Thinking ‘Bout You’ singer also axed publicity team Life or Death PR, which represents Odd Future. In its place, Ocean has hired Hollywood agency ID PR, whose clients are Alicia Keys and Paul Simon, among others.

As of now, there’s no word on why Ocean decided to separate himself from his former management and PR team.

A rep for Life or Death PR issued a statement to XXL Magazine that simply reads, “Relieved” in regards to Ocean firing them. Meanwhile, the Clancy’s remaining roster is full of big names including Solange, Mac Miller and Earl Sweatshirt.

As for Ocean’s follow-up to his Grammy-nominated album ‘channel ORANGE,’ not much is known about the project. However, director Nabil Elderkin, who shot the singer’s ‘Pyramids’ video, says the new music is phenomenal.

“Everyone should be excited about this new album — that s— is fire,” he reportedly said. “He’s making a great record. It blows the sophomore-album myth out of the water.”

Frank Ocean is expected to deliver his still untitled album later this year.

Andre 3000 Producing Songs for Aretha Franklin's New Album

It seems that Andre 3000 is doing everything in the studio besides working on a new OutKast album. At least he’s keeping himself busy with his latest project, which finds him teaming up with a legend.

According to Billboard magazine, 3 Stacks will be producing 4 songs on Aretha Franklin‘s forthcoming album, on which the Queen of Soul will be singing a bunch of covers — Donna Summer’s ‘Last Dance’ and Tina Turner’s ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’ among them. She couldn’t be more excited about the effort.

“I’m pretty sure it’s going to be fun working with [Andre 3000],” stated Franklin. “Just watching his videos and things. It should be fun. And of course they all come with great music, so I expect that.”

The Dungeon family member stepped in for producer Don Was, who was no longer able to work on the album. It’s likely Clive Davis, executive producer of the LP, brought Andre to Aretha, since the two were both on Arista records, which was founded by Davis.

Babyface will also be producing songs on Aretha’s album, expected to arrive in September.

Compton Menace Continues His Beef With Game Using IG Meme (@thegame @ComptonMenace)

Compton Menace isn't done with Game just yet.

After commenting on Game's "Chiraq" remix in May, the rapper posted a meme on his Instagram account last week of Game with a gun to his face.

The meme reads, "Game's Face When G-Unit Reunited," with the caption #MHG.

The two haven't made it known that there was a fallout, which has led fans to wonder what happened between the two friends.

Jay Z, Beyonce Kick Off On the Run Tour in Miami [VIDEO]

Jay Z and Beyonce launched their On the Run tour at Miami’s SunLife Stadium on Wednesday (June 25) and it was an exciting spectacle of booty-shaking choreography, a mini-movie and fist-pumping anthems.

According to the Miami Herald, Jay and Bey showed why they are the king and queen of hip-hop and R&B, respectively.

The two and a half hour concert featured most of the duo’s chart-topping hits. From ‘Single Ladies’ to ’99 Problems’ to ‘Diva’ to ‘Holy Grail’ to ‘Drunk in Love,’ Jay and Bey made sure to rock their noteworthy songs in the show.

Among the highlights at the concert was a black-and-white mini-movie that Beyonce teased a few months prior. The film featured Jay and Bey as an outlaw couple on the run from the law.

Beyonce’s revealing attire was also the most talked-about at the show. Queen Bey wore several different one-piece outfits, including one with fishnet and a matching mask. Later in the show, the R&B singer came out onstage in a racy one-piece that had cutouts to reveal her bootylicious backside.

The show ended with Jay Z and Beyonce holding hands onstage while the crowd watches home movie footage of them playing with their daughter Blue Ivy.

Sevyn Streeter Gets Over a Broken Heart in 'B.A.N.S.' Video

Sevyn Streeter shows us just what the grieving process after a breakup looks like in her new video for ‘B.A.N.S.’

Mack Wilds serves as the chanteuse’s lover in the visual, but their interaction is anything but romantic. He informs her that he got another woman pregnant, which isn’t the sort of news any woman wants to hear from her man. While we only see Mack at the video’s start, the drama that explodes between the two trickles down to all the emotions that Sevyn expresses throughout the clip. “I shoulda used protection instead of moving so fast, but I’m a sucker for affection,” she sings.

She vents to her friends in one scene and poses in some sexy lingerie in another, all while the end of her relationship marinates in her head. Her heart may be broken but at least she still looks like the picture of sexiness.

‘B.A.N.S.’ is the latest single off her 2013 EP, ‘Call Me Crazy, But…’ Sevyn will hit the stage at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans next month.

Souls of Mischief Teams Up with Snoop Dogg on 'There Is Only Now'

Bay Area rap icons Souls of Mischief have released a song that we have believe is one of the most unique rap collaborations of 2014. The Hieroglyphics crew have partnered with veteran rhyme-slinger Snoop Dogg on the melodic new track ‘There Is Only Now.’

The song is the lead single to Mischief’s upcoming album of the same name and produced by musician Adrian Younge, who’s created tracks for Ghostface Killah and Jay Z.

On ‘There Is Only Now,’ Souls of Mischief weaved an interesting love story between two characters, Stoney and his girlfriend Miriam, who are living in the now and are not worried about the future. Despite other people telling them to slow down, the lovebirds refused to listen.

“But this couple don’t care what you sayin’ their hearts ablazin’, raps A-Plus, with Opio adding, “overcome any obstacle, together they will always grow.”

Snoop adds a cautionary verse to the song, in which he hints a precarious love triangle might unfold.

“The homie Stoney in love with his girl, and so is his big homie / Now what a pity, a footnote to the cut throat / It’s rare, see I was told all in love is unfair,” he raps.

Younge keeps the production organic by recording it on 2-inch analogue tape and performing it with live instruments with his band Venice Dawn. Soul of Mischief reportedly recorded their verses in one take.

As for the group’s project, ‘There Is Only Now,’ Souls of Mischief describe it as a concept album based on non-fictional event that nearly destroyed the start of their early rap career.

The 19-song collection boasts guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Scarub of the Living Legends, William Hart of the Delfonics and narrated by A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad who portrays a DJ on the fictional radio station K-NOW.

The album is scheduled to arrive in stores on Aug. 26 via Younge’s new recording label Linear Labs. You can pre-order the single on iTunes right now

Michelle Williams, R. Kelly to Headline 2014 Fashion Meets Music Festival

It’s no secret that music and fashion go hand in hand, especially when some of the biggest stars in hip-hop and R&B sit front row at Fashion Week and are recognized for their distinct style of dress. The debut of the 2014 Fashion Meets Music Festival brings this concept to the festival circuit this summer with Michelle Williams and R. Kelly set to perform.

Taking place in Columbus, Ohio during Labor Day weekend, the festival will bring over 120 acts to the Midwestern city over the course of three days at some of the area’s staple venues. Other acts include Future Islands, the Menzingers, Maps & Atlases, O.A.R., Rusko and Paper Diamond.

Not only will Michelle be performing but the ‘Say Yes’ singer will also emcee the fest’s kick off gala on Aug. 28 at the Bluestone.

Aside from a full-functioning runway at the city’s Convention Center, there will also be food trucks, aerial zip lines and a 100-foot gondala. Out of towners will also have the opportunity to experience urban camping, which includes WiFi, mobile charging stations and hot showers — definitely not the typical definition of “roughing it.”

Tickets are on sale now. Access to the Excess passes will run you $250 while the EXPO pass will only cost $10. Each of the venues will also be selling tickets to individual shows going on that weekend.

Ice T recently hit up Conan to and chopped it up with the veteran late night talk show host about the persistent rumors that his wife Coco's cheeks have been surgically enhanced.

Iggy Azalea to Re-Release 'The New Classic' With New Songs

Although Iggy Azalea‘s debut album, ‘The New Classic,’ is roughly three months old, she’s ready to give fans more new music. The Aussie rhymer reveals plans to re-release her first album with five or six new tracks.

According to Capital XTRA, the album is expected to drop on Sept. 17. There’s no additional information on what those songs will be on the re-release.

So far, Azalea is having a fantastic year with her new album. The set’s first single, ‘Fancy,’ featuring Charli XCX, has spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart.

Azalea is also winning in her love life. She’s currently dating NBA b-baller Nick Young (aka Swaggy P) and the two are madly in love.

At a recent Calvin Klein fashion event, where she sashayed down the runway in Klein’s latest designs, the 24-year-old rapper was asked if she sees herself as “the Calvin Klein woman.”

“[I'm ] a classically chic woman,” she replied in reference to her style. “I think I am every woman. I mean, it depends on my mood, and women are moody.”

“Definitely one of my moods is Calvin Klein,” she added.

Frank Ocean may be hard at work on his follow-up to the wildly successful "Channel Orange" but he's still all about business, and according to Buzzfeed, has let go of his management and publicity teams for undisclosed reasons.

His former management team consists of Christian and Kelly Clancy, who still manage Ocean's Odd Future crewmate Tyler, The Creator. They've managed Ocean since 2010.

He's also switched publishing teams, moving from Life or Death PR to hot Hollywood agency ID PR, who also handles Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lawrence and Sean Penn.

Chris Brown Rejects Plea Deal in Assault Case, Could Face Trial (@chrisbrown)

A newly freed Chris Brown has rejected a plea deal on his misdemeanor assault charges in Washington D.C. court today.

It's been previously reported that Brown, his lawyers, and the D.C. prosecutors discussed plea deal negotiations at length, but Brown was not happy with the deal they offered. Brown now faces the possibility of going to trial.

Brown and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy are accused of punching a fan who tried to get into a photo with Brown and two other women.
