Drake Causes Hilarity While Lint Rolling Pants at Raptors Game (@Drake)

Drake, the "Global Ambassador" for the Toronto Raptors, managed to cheer his team on, lint roll his pants, and go viral at the same time.

During Game 2 of the playoffs with the Raptors and The Brooklyn Nets, the rapper was seen using a lint roller to clean his pants. The video went viral, with fans making fun of his handy lint roller and his overzealous enthusiasm during the game.

The rapper played along with the joke and posted the picture with the caption "lint rollers on deck."

Did French Montana Say the Kardashians Brainwash Women? (@FrenchMontana @KhloeKardashian)

French Montana's old tweet about the Kardashians won't sit well with his current rumored love interest.

The internet dug up some of the rapper's old tweets, with one mentioning his disgust for the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. In the alleged tweet, the rapper says "I don't like the kardashian show, it got every girl thinking she gonna marry a basketball player or some kinda entertainer #brainwash"

The date of the tweet is from the same year Khloe had a reality show with estranged husband Lamar Odom, but the tweet is still questionable.

French and Khloe dating rumors have been buzzing for a few weeks now, with the two enjoying dinner together in NY over the weekend.

B. Smyth Celebrates the Female Body in 'Twerkoholic' Video

R&B newbie B. Smyth wants to see you twerk it. In his new video for ‘Twerkoholic,’ he champions the ladies to shake their money-makers.

In the Erik White-directed clip, the 21-year-old singer attends a twerking contest and catches the eye of a pretty young thing. Elsewhere, the Florida native takes off his jacket to reveal his muscular body.

But the video is not all twerking and booty shaking. Near the end, B. Smyth shows off his fancy footwork with several female dancers.

We must also mention that ‘Twerkoholic’ samples Ready for the World’s 1986 ballad ‘Let Me Love You Down.’

Clearly, he’s ready for the world to embrace him as the next R&B newcomer.

B. Smyth is currently working on his debut album. But if you want to show him your twerking skills, you can catch him onstage at the SunFest music festival on May 2 with J. Cole.

Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West and More Featured in Classic Paintings [PHOTOS]

Beyoncecarterfamilyportraits.tumblr.com

Ever wonder what it would be like if today’s hip-hop and R&B artists were portrayed in classic works of art? No, we’re not talking about Jay Z‘s performance art piece ‘Picasso Baby’ or Kanye‘s cover for ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,’ but something a bit older.

Take a look at the Carter Family Portrait Gallery, a Tumblr page created by an anonymous artist who’s taken some of the art world’s most famous paintings and inserted Jay Z, Beyonce, Blue Ivy, Kanye West to make it look like they are the actual subjects portrayed in these masterpieces.

Paintings from greats like Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt and Vincent Van Gogh are re-imagined with the rappers and singers in the works of art. Standout pieces include Beyonce as ‘The Girl with a Pearl Earring,’ painted by Johannes Vermeer; Bey and Jay depicted in Grant Wood’s ‘American Gothic’ painting and Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper’ — this piece not only portrays Jay as Jesus but also includes Barack and Michelle Obama, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Oprah. There’s even Beyonce as da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa.’

This is clearly not your typical fan art.

Iggy Azalea Puts Stop to Crowd Surfing Due to Fans Sexually Assaulting Her

If you thought you were going to get real close to Iggy Azalea during her performance on the upcoming The New Classic tour, think again. The ‘Fancy’ rapper has announced that she will no longer be crowd surfing due to some perverted fans.

“I had to stop [crowdsurfing]…,” she tells Peter Rosenberg and Ebro Darden on Hot 97′s ‘The Morning Show’ earlier this week. “I’m only doing like 2000-seaters, but I still have to have barriers even if it’s like 200 people because people try to finger me.”

And just as a precaution, Iggy will also be rocking two pairs of underwear and tights underneath her outfit to prevent anyone from getting all up in there. As the conversation continues, she reveals that not only do more girls attempt to finger her but some fans also announce their conquest on Twitter at least a week before Iggy arrives in their cities.

“But I will get lurk tweets a week before my show like, ‘I’m about to go to the Iggy Azalea show and I’m gonna finger her,’” she said trying to mimic what the tweeter might sound like. “Yeah and I’ll see it, and I’m like, ‘Please don’t!’ That’s a violation. I don’t really like that stuff.”

With songs like ‘Work’ and ‘P—-,’ Iggy has come to the conclusion that her supporters believe that she’s all about sex when she really doesn’t roll like that.

“Buying my album for $12 doesn’t mean you get to finger me when I come to you city. It’s weird,” she shares.

Iggy Azalea’s The New Classic tour kicks off tonight (April 23) in Boston and will hit 13 other cities throughout North America, ending in Seattle on May 22.

Twitter Fires Back at Lupita Haters With #AshyLarryBoyBands (@Lupita_Nyongo)

Today Lupita Nyong'o was deemed "Most Beautiful" by People Magazine. It inspired equal amounts of shock and awe on social media, but overall the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

However, there are always doubters to whom sites like Twitter and Facebook give a voice. With several of the critiques coming from guys who at least appear to be about nothing, Tweeter @ThePMG deemed them Ashy Larrys, and hence the trending topic #AshyLarryBoyBands was formed to clap back at the "bums" hating on Queen Lupita.

It's all in good fun. Enjoy the hilarity above.

Juicy J Stars in New Colt 45 Commercial [VIDEO]

Whether it’s at a house party or in music videos, Colt 45 has long-been a part of hip-hop culture. And Juicy J pushes that message further by being the face of the malt liquor’s new commercial.

In the TV spot, Juicy ditches the glamorous night life filled with guest lists, velvet ropes and bottle service to chill with his crew away from the spotlight with some Colt 45 in hand. Project Pat, Nasty Mane and Lil Awree also appear in the clip.

“Give us an empty room, a microphone, a few speakers,” he narrates while clips of his live performances and an after party are shown. “It’s that crowd. It’s that stage. It’s that beat. Let’s keep it real. Let’s keep it Colt 45.”

Juicy J isn’t the first rapper to appear in a Colt 45 commercial. Snoop Dogg, YG and Lil Debbie all starred in their own commercials for the malt liquor.

10 Chicago Rappers To Watch In 2014

YouTube

Chicago. Chitown. Drillinois. The place where, in 2012, record label executives ran through the ‘hood waving contracts for rappers to sign. The Midwest renaissance, which could be traced back to Kanye’s steadfast dedication to sonic development, is yet to be abated, as the drill music of Chief Keef and King L looks to give way to the infectious young bop music that D-Low and Lil’ Kemo love dancing to. Bop is inspired by rap and house, two genres whose lineages run deep in Chicago, but bop also shows us a glimpse of the future: rappers are going to take their music in whichever direction they feel like with little regard for the distinctions between rap and pop.

It’s an exciting time to be a rap fan. Expectations and limitations are being dismantled every day, and artists are willing to defy the rules and try something new for the sake of fun and experimentation. Chicago is a hotbed for that type of innovation, so we took a look at some of the city’s most talented artists who are yet to reach their full potential. Keep an eye out for these 10 Chicago Rappers To Watch in 2014.

For all the talk about Chief Keef and Chance the Rapper, more attention should be paid to a singular artist like Jean Deaux. She emits a smoky brand of R&B mixed with intermittent spurts of rap; her voice trails on the track, leading you on. She sounds like the girl that summons the boy into the Secret Garden. On the beautifully subtle 'Alone,' you can hear Amy Winehouse in her voice. Many try to mimic Amy’s voice without putting the right attitude behind it – Deaux is the whole package.

While 'T.M.S.' Freestyle' showcases her ability to spit viciously our favorite song is the one that got her buzzing in early 2013 – ‘Escape.’ Rainy day production lets Jean’s voice crawl across the canvas, and by the end you may not even realize she’s hypnotized you. Jean Deaux, along with Tink and Dreezy, is exploring the crevices for female singers/rappers in the hopes of soon carving out a canyon full of talent.

Tree is an anomaly in today’s Midwest rap scene. A mixture of skittering hi-hats, bombastic drums, his raspy, old man voice and muted synths makes for what he calls “soul trap.” He sounds like an old soul when he raps, like he's posted on the corner in a rickety chair. He isn’t preoccupied with being cool or espousing violence – he’s great just where he is, scratching the surface of his own problems while always checking in on his folk. He’s the kind of artist that’s slow to warm up to and easy to cling on to, and his latest, the 'MCTREEG EP,' is some of his best work yet.

In the past two years, Lil' Durk has had an attention grabbing hit for each. ‘L's Anthem,’ produced by Bandkamp member Paris Bueller, eschews the usual drill production for a funkier vibe that still sounds fresh today. ‘This Ain’t What You Want’ is a whole other beast as Durk sounds either hurt or proud about his own city being terrified of him. Last year's standout ‘Signed To The Streets’ mixtape was largely ignored by rap cognoscenti despite being one of the best complete projects out of Chicago in years (one listen to the intro 'Traumatized' should have you hooked). Hopefully Durk's flame isn't ready to burn out -- his Def Jam debut is yet to be released.

We can’t mention Durk without Lil’ Reese, both of whom are signed to Def Jam and run with OTF. Reese popularized Future's ‘Karate Chop’ flow on ‘Us’ before Future did and also has the phenomenal sleeper ‘Haters’ to his name.

“I had a f—ked up life, I’m breakin’ down,” says Dreezy as she explains why she’s always smoking and drinking. Dreezy is like a Midwestern version of Kevin Gates – emotional, precise, multifaceted, and never in one place for too long on her breakout mixtape ‘Schizo’ from earlier this year. The tape is produced entirely by D. Brooks Exclusive (minus one song), giving the tape an album-like feel with everything from musical interludes (‘Mind Games’) to no-hook manifestos (‘Dreamer Pt. 2’). Dreezy’s topics run the gamut from being "a bitch" to getting cheated on, but her songs are stories colored with characters, not archetypes (or stereotypes). Her music breathes and evolves like a living creature. In an atmosphere where authenticity means nothing, Dreezy raps like everything she says really happened to her, and it makes a difference in her delivery.

There hasn’t been a female rap star to match Nicki Minaj’s ascent but rest assured that the next one will be from Chicago. Whether it’s an R&B hybrid like TInk and Dreezy or a straight ahead drill sergeant like Sasha Go Hard and Katie Got Bandz, it seems like the women of the Chi have more to say than the men do right now.

Ever since Pac Man coined the term “drill” to describe the new breed of Chicago rap brimming in the city, King L (previously King Louie before Disney had to hate) has been the sub-genre’s leader. He’s been popular since 2007 mixtapes like ‘Boss Shit’ and ‘Cloud 9,’ despite breaking both legs in a car accident that almost killed him. His command over any track he touches is what ultimately makes him drill’s godfather, and fans still await his next move, knowing it could cause a shift in the landscape.

In 2012 he signed to Epic Records off the strength of ‘Val Venis’ and seemed ready to drop his album, ‘Dope & Shrimp.’ That was over two years ago, and while we’ve gotten a slew of new mixtapes and a ‘Yeezus’ verse from him ever since, we still haven’t seen the needle nudge on Epic’s Richter scale. What’s taking so long over there?

Under the shadow of the city’s looming sound, Lucki Eck$ has carved out his own lane with ‘Alternative Trap,’ a mixtape that departs from most norms in hip-hop. He caught people’s attention with his dreamy ode to dope dealing 'Count On Me,' and he just dropped a new track with the eccentric producer Hot Sugar, ‘All Senses.’

Lucki’s subject matter may not be too far from the likes of GBE, but his sound is what separates him from the pack. ‘Alternative Trap’ was slow, woozy, almost sedated in comparison to the typical drill sound that feeds on energy. That distinction is what makes Lucki Eck$ stand out – how he’ll maneuver into the spotlight remains to be seen.

The SaveMoney crew that Chance the Rapper hatched from is a legion of young rappers that’s created it’s own microcosm in Chicago. Vic Spencer is one of many voices like Vic Mensa, Sulaiman, and Caleb James to bubble, but his sound is the most pronounced of the collective. Unlike Z Money, who is a byproduct of Gucci Mane’s influence and more interested in how his words sound, Vic is a verbal tactician, stitching together images with comedy and gusto. He doesn’t sound disgusted like many of his peers – he sounds amused.

The dopest thing about Chicago right now isn’t the dominance of drill at all – it’s the splintering sounds that drill has seemingly inspired, or at least helped expose to the larger public. Enter Sicko Mobb, a group set to grab the attention of kids (hopefully before the kids grab guns). Their music, called bop, is reliant on the dances that accompany it, making for a fully comprehensive activity that takes more energy and attention to participate in than many others. One hates to politicize music, but bop might be the answer to drill and it’s ever-elusive moral question.

Sicko Mobb is two dudes – Lil’ Trav and Lil’ Ceno. Their sound gets straight to the chorus without any of the bullish gun-toting, and with little more than footwork-influenced production and melody, they’ve taken Chicago rap to an entirely different place. They recently signed a publishing deal with Stargate (the mega producers behind Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Black & Yellow’) through Sony/ATV and their next move is yet to be determined, but you can bet that as the sound of the new youth movement, Sicko Mobb will be popping up a lot more.

Some time ago, the Internets picked up on ‘Kill S—t’ by Lil’ Herb and Lil’ Bibby, two young Chitown spitters. Drake tweeted lyrics from the song and rumors of an OVO remix flew, but while it never happened, it kept Bibby and Herb afloat until ‘Water’ from Bibby’s last mixtape, ‘Free Crack,’ dropped.

Most went crazy for that tape when it dropped but they’ve cooled down since Lil’ Herb’s ‘Welcome To Fazoland.’ Herb sounds calm in the middle of a storm – “I’m coolin’ in this hellhole” he says on ‘Koolin.’ His music is well rounded, perhaps thanks to King Louie’s diverse sound palette, and it helps give the mixtape replay ability. Herb sounds like he draws energy from the city and funnels it into his music instead of simply letting that energy run rampant in his songs. Some are going so far as to say that drill is dead – if that’s the case, Lil’ Herb is at once the undertaker and the preacher, preparing coffins while promoting hope.

Tink is one of the most exciting artists in rap right now, let alone Chicago. She’s shown vocal chops and stinging bars on projects like ‘Winter’s Diary 1 & 2’ and ‘Alter Ego,’ proving her versatility in a genre that necessitates it. Both sides of her talent accentuate each other – for every biting punchline, you know there’s a sensitive singer curled up inside, and for every heartfelt ballad, you know there’s a swift smack waiting for you if you act up. Tink keeps you on your toes.

She recently graduated high school and teamed up with Timbaland, who tweeted about Tink as his “next big project.” Her latest single with Jeremih, ‘Don’t Tell Nobody,’ hasn’t even been officially released and it’s already burning up the airwaves. Clearly, people are hungry for more Tink.

Janine and the Mixtape Releases 'Hold Me' Video

Janine and the Mixtape is a burgeoning singer-instrumentalist from Auckland, New Zealand who just released a new video for ‘Hold Me.’ The lush ballad is from her EP, ‘Dark Mind.’

Directed by Anthony Plant and co-directed by Janine and the Mixtape, the visual features the songbird yearning for the tender touch of the love of her life. “I have a lot going on right now,” she coos over the poppy yet soulful song.

Dressed in a lacy number and a silky white robe, Janine is “feeling kinda lonely” in her bedroom, but her man comes to the rescue to give her the comfort she needs.

Kelis Brings 'Jerk Ribs' to 'The Late Show With David Letterman' [VIDEO]

Kelis‘ new album, ‘Food,’ debuted yesterday (April 22), and to celebrate, the singer dropped by ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ to provide some musical nourishment with her latest single, ‘Jerk Ribs.’

Complete with a brass section, Kelis’ funky R&B track is one that you can easily groove to — just look at those standing behind her. Moving away from the sexy club banger vibe of songs like ‘Milkshake’ and ‘Bossy,’ ‘Jerk Ribs’ shows her more mature and soulful side. And if you didn’t think Kelis pays homage to the past, her shiny high-waist, flared out slacks and Diana Ross-like coif might be a good indication she does.

While some people are getting used to this food-themed direction in Kelis’ music, one can’t deny that this is one hell of a good track. It’s pretty obvious that Letterman is a fan. “That’s all!” he raved at the end of the performance. “That’s all you want. Take a bow. My god! How about that! Oh, delightful.”

Starting in May, Kelis will be heading to Europe for a number of dates before playing a full-length tour around the U.S. in June.

ScHoolboy Q Yearns for His Lady in 'Studio' Video

ScHoolboy Q is getting his mack on in his latest video for ‘Studio.’ In the Jerome D.-directed clip, the ‘Man of the Year’ artist yearns for some one-on-one time with his lady love.

The black-and-white video features the Compton rhymer working hard in the studio but wishing he was lying in bed next to his girl. As he continues to rap his come-hither lines, his lingerie-clad girlfriend continues to get more and more naked.

Eventually, the clip goes into NSFW zone as we see naked images of her beautiful body and we realize why Q is yearning for some alone time with her.

Meanwhile, R&B singer BJ the Chicago Kid croons his seductive lines to match ScHoolboy Q’s raunchy lyrics.

Ultimately, Q gets his girl and we see the couple meet each other while the city lights twinkle behind them.

Exclusive! Dirt Nasty: LMFAO Probably Got Tired of Each Other (@dirtnasty)

Simon Rex AKA Dirt Nasty chopped it up with VladTV about his friends and frequent collaborators LMFAO, how they were fans of his before blowing up, and how he thinks they're doing now.

Nasty revealed that before LMFAO was an official group, they told him they were fans and he in turn put RedFoo in his "1980" video. Soon after, Rex met up with the duo in Miami, where they gave him a demo copy of the now smash single "I'm In Miami B*tch." The rest is history.

He admits that while he isn't completely sure what's up with the group now, he assumes they may have fallen victim to the same issue faced by a lot of music groups -- eventually, you simply get tired of being around each other all the time.

Chance the Rapper Suffering From Tonsillitis, Cancels More Shows

Chance The RapperJohnny Nunez, Getty Images

Chance the Rapper is still recuperating after falling ill on Sunday (April 20). Hours before his Coachella performance, the Chicago native canceled due to an undisclosed illness. On Tuesday (April 22), his manager posted a letter to update fans on the rapper’s well-being.

Patrick Corcoran wrote a missive on Chance’s Facebook page, explaining that the rapper had a 104-degree fever and inflammation his throat. When the ‘Confident’ rhymer was admitted to the hospital, doctors said his illness was caused by a combination of the flu and tonsillitis.

Currently, Chance is resting at home in Los Angeles and will see a specialist this week to determine if he needs surgery.

However, under doctor’s orders, Chance must cancel his remaining shows scheduled between April 23-27. If everything goes well, he’s scheduled to be back onstage at the JMBLYA festival in Dallas on May 2.

We wish Chance the Rapper a speedy recovery. You can read the full letter below.

Pharrell Wants a Different Girl in 'Marilyn Monroe' Video

Pharrell Williams may be happy, but he wants a different girl in the new visual for ‘Marilyn Monroe,’ a song featured on his lauded album, ‘G I R L.’

With his chart-topping song ‘Happy’ still ever-present, the singer embraces the many women of the world in the clip. The heavily choreographed video (we see you Fatima Robinson) features Skateboard P popping in on some ladies in a rehearsal studio, grooving with them in a red, white and blue room and even looking for his lady love in an outer space-themed scene.

“She’s everything I want, and it’s crystal clear / Not even Marilyn Monroe / Queen Cleopatra please / Not even Joan of Arc / That don’t mean nothin’ to me / I just want a different girl,” he sings. Basically, none of those women compare to the girl who’s got his eye.

Look out for Pharrell’s famed hat (he dons one in red and another with some holes) and Kelly Osbourne, who pops up with a bow in hand to deliver her line on the track.

This week is a busy one for the Oscar-nominated star. On Thursday (April 24), he’ll also release his new book. The read will only be available on digital platforms.

Scarface Is Back on the Block in 'No Problem' Video

Scarface is back. The veteran rhyme-slinger just dropped a new video for ‘No Problem,’ a warm-up single as he preps his new album, ‘Deeply Rooted’ — his first project in six years.

The Houston legend went on a little hiatus after his 2008 album ‘Emeritus.’ The rest has done him some good.

The first thing you will notice in the video, directed by Mr. Boomtown, is that ‘Face has slimmed down — a lot. The 43-year-old rapper looks healthier thanks to his reported 100-pound weight loss.

The svelte rapper takes us back to his old neighborhood — Houston’s South Acres Ranch projects — as he flexes his rap muscles to anyone who wants to challenge him.

“I am far average / To me there’s no such thang / Me against the world, so f— it, I let my nuts hang,” he raps.

There’s no release date confirmed for ‘Deeply Rooted’ as of yet.

Either way, we’re glad Scarface is making a return to rap.

Bodega Bamz Salutes El Barrio in 'Glorious' Video

Rapper Bodega Bamz takes viewers to el barrio of Spanish Harlem in his new video for ‘Glorious.’ The song is from his 2012 mixtape, ‘Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.Z.’

Directed by Darryl “Filth” Phillips, the clip features the Tanboys leader recalling his formers days as a street hustler on the block and the fame that came along with it.

“Since a juvenile, bitches call me chulo / Smacking cash on their culo, ’cause I know they like it duro / And I’m half Dominicano / Loading up those hollows / Cocaina in my sala / Sniff it off my palo,” he raps.

Bamz also pays tribute to the late Big L by featuring shots of his mural, his Harlem neighborhood and mementos provided by his family. Of course, the song samples the late rapper’s posthumous song ‘Deadly Combination‘ featuring Tupac Shakur.

New Balance 580 "NBEEZY" Custom

Thosenbs.com

Okay we know what you are thinking and no, Kanye West isn’t taking his talents to New Balance. Instead sneaker designer Alexander John was commissioned by Andre Wright Jr to get busy one time and these were the results.

The colorway itself is pretty powerful in the same way that red and gold can evoke an image of McDonald’s in the right mind. Black with bits of neon and hyper pink immediately bring to mind the daring Nike Air Yeezy 2 silhouette and it translates well to the New Balance 580 silhouette. The custom colorway bled over into the laces as Alexander John reached out to Aglit Italy for grey suede laces to serve as the cherry on top of this already slick design. Only 10 pair are being made so you can already imagine how hard or pricey getting your hands on these will get.

If you’d like to investigate further Alexander John has an impressive body of work up for showcase on his Instagram page and Andre Wright Jr’s blog does a bit of flexing as well. Let us know what you think of the New Balance 580 “NBEEZY” below.
