Nike Sportswear Constellation Collection

Nike

Nike is pulling out all the stops for this year’s NBA All-Star game and the next drop really shoots for the stars. The Nike Sportswear Constellation Collection includes four models that incorporate five-point, four-point and single-point stars in their design.

The set features a mirrored Nike Foamposite One, an iced out Nike Dunk High, a Nike Air Force 1 Elite with a visible air unit and a Nike Lunarwavy Sky Hi for the ladies. Seeing each model alone is one thing but the full set achieves an aesthetic that really resonates in an incredible way.

With its quirky studded design, the Constellation Collection pays homage to the New York City’s five boroughs, a basketball game’s four quarters of play and the exhibition that serves as a finale to the All-Star game. You’ll be able to cop everything from Nike retailers on Feb. 11 — except for the Nike Air Foamposite One, which drops on Feb. 15.

Songs of the Week: Ne-Yo, Big Sean and Migos

Stuart C. Wilson / Jason Merritt / Neilson Barnard, Getty Images

Over the past week, the music world has been an eventful one to say the least. 2014 may have gotten off to a slow start, but this year has been the exact opposite, with a slew of high-profile tracks being released in January alone. Artists like Joey Bada$$ and Lupe Fiasco made major waves, while acts such as Freddie Gibbs and Ghostface Killah, among others, held the ‘net down with random heaters of their own.

The first week of February has come and the music keeps coming at a rapid, but a few records out of the endless pile of new releases managed to pique our interest and stand a cut above the rest. We present our latest edition of Songs of the Week with three tracks from Big Sean, Ne-Yo and Migos. Did your favorite tune make the cut? Let us know in the comments below.

2014 was the year of Migos mania. Remaining omnipresent for the duration of the year due to hits like 'Fight Night' and social media word of mouth, Quavo, Takeoff and Offset evolved from a trap group on the fringe to the cream of the crop. Looking to expand their brand, Migos are set to release their major label debut this coming spring. We got our first taste of what we can expect from 'Y.R.N.: The Album' this week when Migos released the album's lead single, 'One Time.' This is a high-quality banger primed to dominate the rest of winter, spring and beyond.

'She Knows (Remix)'

Ne-Yo Feat. The-Dream, Trey Songz & T-Pain

Ne-Yo has had a fantastic year so far. Releasing his sixth studio album, 'Non-Fiction,' in late January, the LP debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and has garnered much critical acclaim and put Ne-Yo's music back in the spotlight.

This week, he unleashed the remix to his smash hit, 'She Knows,' enlisting the help of fellow singer-songwriters The-Dream, Trey Songz and T-Pain for an eventful R&B posse cut.

3

'Blessings'

Big Sean Feat. Drake & Kanye West

When it comes to crafting catchy tunes, Big Sean is one of the more underrated rappers in the game. Looking to put his name back in the conversation of elite artists, the G.O.O.D. music representative is gearing up for the release of his third LP, 'Dark Sky Paradise.' The album may not be due until the summer, but Sean is wasting no time getting the ball rolling as evidenced by his latest buzz cut, 'Blessings.'

Produced by Boi-1da and Vinylz, the track is ominous and grabs your attention immediately. All three MC's drop stunning verses full of crotch-grabbing slick-talk and boastful proclamations, resulting in what may be the biggest pure rap song of the year so far. As the year moves along, you can expect this track to get plenty of burn in the clubs and on radio, setting the stage for what will be a very G.O.O.D. year.

Gucci Mane Teams With Young Thug for 'Heart Attack'

Heart AttackCoverAudiomack

Even though Gucci Mane has been locked up since last year, he’s still serving his fans new music. His latest product to hit the streets is the Young Thug-assisted song ‘Heart Attack,’ produced by Zaytoven.

Thugger does the singing while Gucci handles the rap verses and uses pretty solid wordplay. “Lamborghini with the doors up, pull up and she chose up / Froze up so she chose us / Better ask these hoes, they know us / She watching me like a movie, Gucci Mane got his numbers up,” he raps.

Young Thug starts the song and uses his signature whiny flow to describe a certain female. “She don’t remember that designer on her, I don’t remember how many times I boned her / And she the bomb like Lotus Flower on her, I ain’t snitchin’ but I told her I really wanna change to a pimp,” he sings.

‘Heart Attack’ will be on Gucci’s ‘Brick Factory 3′ album. The rapper will be released from prison in 2016.

Sneaker of the Week: Yeezy Supply

Yeezy Supply

We’ve sat back and watched Pharrell and Nigo pump out a few releases but the Kanye West and adidas collaboration has, at times, felt like a pump-fake. Well, the long road to the adidas Yeezi just took a turn for the interesting and it almost goes without saying that we had to make it the Sneaker of the Week.

Okay, let’s be clear; the adidas Yeezi isn’t the Sneaker of the Week, but Kanye’s newly launched web site yeezy.supply is. Right now, the URL plays host to video footage of a warehouse with a countdown running over it. It’s apparent that something is going to be sold there. We just have to wait a few more days to find out what that something is.

The count is set for a Feb. 12 launch at 4PM and at that point, we hope that the heavily-anticipated sneaker will release. You never can tell with Kanye though, and it could just be another song featuring Paul McCartney. Either way, we’re excited.

Ledisi Snubbed by 2015 Grammys Due to Beyonce Performance, Fans Say

Ledisi BeyonceTommaso Boddi / Monica Schipper, Getty Images

We are days away from the 2015 Grammy Awards and already there’s some controversy surrounding one of the performances. The conflict surrounds the Grammy producers’ decision to have Beyonce perform the spiritual song ‘Precious Lord, Take My Hand,’ which was originally sung by Ledisi in the Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic, ‘Selma.’

If you’ve seen the movie, then you would know that Ledisi, who portrays the legendary gospel singer Mahalia Jackson, sings the spiritual ode to David Oyelowo, who plays Martin Luther King, Jr.

So it would make sense that Ledisi would perform the song on the Grammys telecast alongside Common and John Legend, who are scheduled to sing their Oscar-nominated tune ‘Glory,’ which is also from the movie.

However, the Grammys requested Queen Bey to perform the song instead of Ledisi. Ironically, both ladies are nominated in the Best R&B Performance category for ‘Drunk in Love’ and ‘Like This,’ respectively.

Ledisi fans went on Twitter to voice their disappointment. They feel that the integrity of the song is lost as it correlates to the movie. Critics also accuse the Grammy producers of replacing Ledisi with Beyonce just for ratings and mainstream appeal. Meanwhile, the BeyHive believes that Beyonce shouldn’t be blamed for being invited to perform.

We gathered some of the opinionated tweets from both sides of the argument. You can read them below.

Bobbi Kristina Brown's Family Gets Into Fight at Atlanta Hotel, Bobby Brown's Wife Is Pregnant

There’s no question that Bobby Brown is going through a heartbreaking ordeal with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, being hospitalized on life support. However, the singer did receive some bittersweet news this week — his wife of two years is pregnant.

Alicia Etheredge, a TV producer and Brown’s longtime manager, is preggers with their second child. The couple already have another child, Cassius Brown, who was born in June 2009.

This will be Brown’s sixth child. The 46-year-old singer has three other children with his ex-girlfriend Kim Ward — Landon, 26, LaPrincia, 25, and Bobby Jr., 21.

Brown is currently at Emory University Hospital by his daughter’s hospital bedside as she fights for her life after being found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31.

Meanwhile, there may be some internal conflicts happening within the Brown family. According to Billboard , Atlanta police were called to the W Atlanta Midtown Hotel to investigate a fight between one victim Shayne Brown and suspect Tina Brown Friday (Feb. 6). Shayne is Bobby’s cousin and Tina is Bobby’s sister.

Apparently, the two parties got into a heated argument and Tina allegedly cracked Shayne over the head with a bottle. When police arrived, Tina has left the scene, while Shayne went to the hospital to get treatment for lacerations on his head. There’s no word on what caused the two siblings to fight.

Hopefully, the Brown family can remain calm and focus on the bigger picture — the health and recovery of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

Here's What You Can Expect From Kanye West at 2015 Grammy Awards

Tommaso Boddi, Getty Images

The 57th Grammy Awards are just around the corner and music’s biggest night is all about Kanye West. Everyone is abuzz this year, as the 53-time nominee and 21-time winner (he’s won more awards than Jay Z) returns to the Grammys following a highly-publicized six-year hiatus.

The superstar is up for two accolades — Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song for ‘Bound 2’ with Charlie Wilson — and is set to perform not once, but twice. He’ll take the famous stage for ‘FourFiveSeconds’ alongside Paul McCartney and Rihanna and once more for what is being dubbed “a never-before-seen solo performance.”

Never one to bite his tongue, Kanye’s absence from the Grammys is well-documented — he feels snubbed. The vociferous artist has blasted the Academy for passing him over in major categories.

“So don’t expect to see me at the Grammys this year, you know what I mean,” he said during a rant in 2012. ‘Ye’s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ was omitted from the list of nominees for Album of the Year and Record of the Year. “How many Grammys do we have? … Eighteen Grammys. All in the black categories, though. But nonetheless, 18. I love Maroon 5, but when I lost Best New Artist to Maroon 5 … you know what I mean?”

“Or when ‘Watch the Throne’ and ‘Dark Fantasy,’ neither of them got nominated for Album of the Year, you know what I mean? Or when ‘N—-s in Paris’ didn’t get nominated for Record of the Year, you know what I mean?”

All of that seems to be water under the bridge; 2015 could very well be Kanye’s biggest Grammy performance ever. So what can we expect?

Speculation runs high by fans and music industry insiders alike on Kanye’s mysterious solo performance. If his new song, ‘Only One,’ is any indication, we may see a tender, softer side of ‘Ye. The ode to his late mother, Donda West, references wife Kim Kardashian and daughter North (who also stars in the music video), so it’s possible the rapper will trade in the usual rants for some tears.

The Chicago native is in the midst of his new role as a doting family man, so a cameo from Kim and North onstage isn’t far-fetched. “I think I’m a better human being because of her and because of my daughter. And I always have someone to think about going home to,” he said on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’

Kim adds to the rumors of what’s to come during his performance by posting a few adorable photos of North on Instagram this week. In the candid shots, their daughter wears a ballerina outfit and sits in front of a piano. The caption reads, “Morning piano session “ and “my princess ballerina baby.” The little tyke could be tickling the ivories in anticipation for her dad’s big show.

Making the Grammys a West family affair would also be in step with hip-hop’s other famous couple, Jay Z and Beyonce. Brooklyn’s very own boycotted the Grammys from 1999 to 2012 “because too many major rap artists continue to be overlooked.” However, he’s since returned for a high-profile performance.

Last year, Jay and Beyonce opened the ceremony with a sizzling rendition of ‘Drunk in Love.’ Just months later, the MC brought daughter Blue Ivy onstage at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards to bestow his wife with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. Since everyone loves babies, Kanye may take inspiration from his “big brother” and turn his performance into an “aww”-inducing moment.

If so, this wouldn’t be the first time KimYe has collaborated professionally. His reality star wife showed off her post-baby bod in his ‘Bound 2’ music video — incidentally the same song Kanye is nominated for — and got tongues wagging over their shared cover of Vogue. A headline-worthy appearance at the Grammys (oh-so-conveniently scheduled before the season premiere of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’) would continue the ubiquitous couple’s reign.

An eye towards fashion will no doubt play a significant role in Kanye’s performance. Whether it’s a hit or a miss, the production whiz has always used the concert stage as a platform to showcase his sartorial prowess. Whether he’s rocking Givenchy during the Watch the Throne tour or normalizing the idea of rappers in kilts at the 12-12-12 benefit, what Kanye wears always gets hypebeasts running to the store.

We know the design guru has been hard at work on his Yeezys 3s for Adidas and the entire collection will be unveiled at New York Fashion Week this year, so it’s very likely we’ll see something from the line teased during the show.

Now, here’s where we might get an epic rant (fingers crossed). For Kanye, the stage and soapbox are one and the same. He’s often taken to live shows, interviews and parties to air out his grievances with society. From Pusha T’s ‘My Name Is My Name’ album preview, to the Yeezus tour and talking to BBC, the 37-year-old entertainer has made it no secret that he feels slighted because he’s a rapper.

“We brought the leather jogging pants six years ago to Fendi, and they said, ‘No.’ How many motherf—ers you done seen with a jogging pant?” he infamously asked BBC’s Zane Lowe about his contribution to fashion. Even in his most recent sit-down on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ Kanye hints that his genius is being stifled. “A lot of times people try to block you, to block your creativity, control you with money,” Ye shared. If he wants to blast his blockers, the Grammy stage, in front of every major artist from around the world, is as good as any to do it on.

So far, Kanye has been noticeably mum about his 2015 Grammy plans. There’s nary a peep or Twitter post from him to hint at what creative, zany or historic idea he has under his kilt. All we know is that in typical Kanye fashion, it will be groundbreaking — or at the very least, break the Internet.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards air Feb. 8 on CBS at 8PM ET.

The aggressively athletic Reebok Instapump Fury was chosen for this collaboration and its’ underlays are given pops by a boldly-printed silk scarf as a foundation. The flanking hits of navy and red play off of the brash pattern while bits of 3M fall onto the heel and toe.
