Drake Calls Macklemore's Text Message To Kendrick Lame As F**k (@Drake @macklemore)

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Drake didn't have a problem addressing Macklemore's text message seen around the web on Grammy night.

The 'Thrift Shop' rapper took home 'Best Rap Album' and sent a message to fan-worthy contender Kendrick Lamar saying 'sorry I robbed you.' Drake called the move cheap and thought it was tacky for the rapper to share it with the internet.

"I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better — make better music,'" he said. "It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?"

The rapper also felt that Macklemore didn't need to apologize to anyone about an award that was given to him. Drake says. "To name just Kendrick? That shit made me feel funny. No, in that case, you robbed everybody. We all need text messages!"

While many critics believed that Kendrick would get the award, Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis picked up many awards that night. Drake also noted that the guys clearly tapped into audience that other rap artists like Jay Z, Kendrick and himself haven't gotten to yet.

"This is how the world works: He made a brand of music that appealed to more people than me, Hov, Kanye and Kendrick. Whether people wanna say it's racial, or whether it's just the fact that he tapped into something we can't tap into. That's just how the cards fall. Own your shit."

New Study Shows Smoking Weed May Stop Spread of HIV

Marijuana has long been used by those with HIV to treat pain, nausea and to stimulate the appetite, but a new study suggests the wonder plant may help stop the spread of the disease itself.

Louisiana State University published a study last week in the journal AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses which showed promising results. Scientists discovered that HIV-positive monkeys who were given a daily dose of THC over a 17-month period suffered less damage to immune tissue in their stomachs, one of the most common areas in the body for the disease to spread.

"These findings reveal novel mechanisms that may potentially contribute to cannabinoid-mediated disease modulation," reported Dr. Patricia Molina, the study's lead author. The report goes on to explain that the monkeys who received the THC treatments maintained higher levels of healthy immune cells.

T.I. Calls Out Tiny for Posting Butt Pics on Instagram (@Tip @TinyMajorMama)

Rumors have been swirling for weeks now that there's trouble in paradise for T.I. and Tiny, and the speculation has only been fueled by multiple IG comments made by both Tip and his wife that could be seen as subliminal shots at each other.

While not indicative of trouble in the marriage, T.I. recently left a message for his wife on Instagram concerning the series of photos she posted showcasing her backside. While he's not outright scolding her, it seems apparent the Atlanta rapper isn't thrilled with the photos being put out there for the world to see.

Chuck D Appointed 2014 Record Store Day Ambassador

Chuck D Record Story Dayrecordstoreday.com

Famed Public Enemy frontman Chuck D has been picked to be the ambassador for this year’s Record Store Day event. The rapper will help draw attention to the consumer-driven program, which celebrates independent record stores.

Chuck D joins previous RSD ambassadors like Ozzy Osbourne (2011), Iggy Pop (2012) and Jack White (2013).

In a 500-word open letter, Chuck D credits the record stores for connecting artists with their fans and listeners.

“[The record store] has been influential to the creators of so many of the greatest recordings…sort of a second rite of passage after the live radio or TV performance,” he wrote. “Motown’s Berry Gordy had a record store, Elektra founder Jac Holzman had a record store, the Stax label had their Satellite Record Shop right next to their studio. Keith Richards opens a conversation with Mick Jagger as teenagers on a UK train platform because he had a stack of hot blues records in his arms after leaving a shop.”

Record Store Day promotions and giveaways will be held at various record stores around the world on April 19.

Read Chuck D’s entire letter below:

Over 27 years and 93 countries visited, as a professional lead vocalist of the RAP group Public Enemy, I don’t go one single day without emphasizing that the genre of hip-hop is spawned from DJ culture. The founding members of Public Enemy were, and still are, DJs. The tool and fuel for DJs has forever been recordings. And where these recordings have long connected, with pros and fans alike, has simply been The Record Store, the connection point of listener and the recording.

The introduction of the available recording to the public had opened and webbed the sounds of the world across the planet long before the www. It has been influential to the creators of so many of the greatest recordings as well, sort of a second rite of passage after the live radio or TV performance. Motown’s Berry Gordy had a record store, Elektra founder Jac Holzman had a record store, the STAX label had their Satellite Record Shop right next to their studio. Keith Richards opens a conversation with Mick Jagger as teenagers on a UK train platform because he had a stack of hot blues records in his arms after leaving a shop. Well you should have an idea of what I’m saying here.

The record store made musicians listen beyond themselves. It both complemented and supplemented the radio, in fact the best radio stations in the past followed the vibe of the record stores of their regions, thus growing and nurturing each other. The fans and listener had everything to gain, and if they wanted to get into making music, the Record Store turned into their first school and sonic passport out.

Do not get me wrong, I am a fan of technology, but I am a bigger fan of the music. I used to be a big fan of the industry of music when it, like sport, at least offered a seemingly fair field of play, no matter where one came from. Upon the growth of Hip Hop through vinyl-cassette-Cd-MP3 I long wanted, and advised, many Record Stores ways to adapt to surviving the ICE AGE. Like last year’s Record Day Ambassador, the great Jack White, I concur with his view that people want to gather, share thoughts, and suggest music. There’s few musical events more exciting than Record Store performances, whether it’s Grimey’s In Nashville, Criminal Records in ATL or Rough Trade in London. I’ve long thought The Record Store tour circuit is so necessary and rewarding.

In this age where industry has threaded the music sound with virtual sight and story I am honored to be called upon to be Record Store Day Ambassador of 2014. With the masses, neck bent into their smartphones, let all of us music lovers GPS our way into a reality that is the Record Store. It’s worth a great try, let’s do this…

Drake Releases OVO x Flandana Accessory

OVO FlandanaOVO

Now that Drake has conquered the music world he is now ready to leave his footprint in the fashion industry. Drizzy has just released a cool accessory for the springtime. It’s October’s Very Own flandanas.

As first, we didn’t have a clue what a “flandana” is, but we soon realized that it’s a fleece-lined bandana. Think of it as a cross between a scarf and a bandana.

The OVO x Flandanas come in two designs. One features the signature owl logo with digi camo print and Arabic writing (our favorite). The other flandana boasts an image of an actual owl with “October’s Very Own” written at the top.

Both of these cotton/fleece bandanas are available at the OVO webstore for $36.

The OVO x Flandanas would be a perfect match for Drake’s upcoming release of his Jordan Brand x OVO sneaker collection. There’s still no word on when those kicks will hit retail.

Watch Wu-Tang Clan's Unreleased 'Y'all Been Warned' Video

Back in 2001, the Wu-Tang Clan released their fourth album, ‘Iron Flag.’ It wasn’t the group’s best work, which may explain why there weren’t a lot of videos released from the project. However, a previously unreleased clip has surfaced online of the LP’s standout track, ‘Y’all Been Warned.’

According to UPROXX, Sugar Factory Films decided to release this rare gem for our viewing pleasure. The grainy visuals feature Wu members Method Man, RZA, Inspectah Deck and Raekwon spitting lyrical darts at their competitors. In between the group’s verbal shots, two women are dancing seductively to the funk-sampled groove provided by producer True Master.

It’s your typical rap video but it’s good to see the Wu at their grimiest.

Unfortunately, we’re still waiting for the group members to reunite for one more album.

Riff Raff: I'm Switching Over to Country Music (@jodyhighroller)

Riff Raff may be switching out his chains and cornrows for cowboy boots and a Southern twang, because the Houston emcee revealed to TMZ that he's getting into the country music game.

Raff says he'll record under the name Jody Highroller; a moniker he's been using on Twitter and Instagram for a minute. However, he'll continue to use Riff Raff as his rap name.

TMZ reports that Riff Raff's country ambitions are co-signed by Diplo, and he has a song called "Take U Away" that he'll be releasing soon.

He says he's dead serious about his new musical pursuit, telling TMZ, "I love country music. I'm good at it and it's a good fit."

Riff Raff switching to country music isn't as crazy as it sounds; Former D-Town emcee Kid Rock made the transition years ago and he's enjoyed a very successful career as a country crooner.

Mary J. Blige Performs at White House in Honor of French President Hollande's Visit

Mary J. Blige has been busy lately. After stopping by New York Fashion Week on Monday (Feb. 10), the songstress headed down to Washington, D.C., to attend and perform at the state dinner in the White House to welcome the president of France Tuesday (Feb. 11).

With husband and manager, Kendu Isaacs, by her side, Blige looked elegant in a floor-length fitted red gown at the beginning of the evening. She then changed into a white and silver-embellished gown during her performance.

According to reports, there was no dancing at the event. This was to avoid the fact that President Francois Hollande went stag to the event. So we’re thinking Mary J. probably stuck to ballads rather than fast-paced tracks, and from the looks of the photos, she went with her emotional and soulful repertoire.

During the dinner, guests were served dry-aged rib eye beef, American caviar and a salad with ingredients from First Lady Michelle Obama’s garden. Attendees also had the option of wines from California, Virginia and Washington state.

Tyrese's Baby Mama Calls Cops After He Tries to Visit Daughter (@Tyrese)

Police responded to the home of Tyrese's baby mama last night when the actor arrived to pick up his kid.

When Tyrese headed over to Norma Gibson's home in North Hollywood to scoop up his six-year-old daughter, Gibson didn't want to hand over custody because the little girl was sick. TMZ reports she notified the police, who arrived to the home just before Tyrese. Apparently, she believed the custody order did not require her to hand over her daughter and she wanted the LAPD to take a look at the document.

After some discussion between Tyrese and the police, Tyrese left without his daughter.

While there was no disturbance and no police report was filed, sources tell TMZ this isn't over. Tyrese is reportedly going to court to ask a judge to hold Gibson in contempt for violating the custody order. He doesn't buy that his daughter was sick, and feels this was just Gibson taking revenge.

Emeli Sande has been out of the spotlight for some time, but she popped up onstage recently with Taylor Swift. The country superstar was in London wrapping up her RED tour when she surprised the audience with a special guest.

Sande appeared to perform her anthemic ballad ‘Next to Me,’ off her album, ‘Our Version of Events,’ with Swift at London’s 02 Arena Monday night (Feb. 10). Dressed in a lacy black mini-dress with matching boots, the singer-songwriter had the sold-out crowd singing along to her infectious lyrics.

During Sande’s performance, Swift can be seen doing some sort of jitterbug dance move, which looked awkward at times. She also sang a few lines from the song as well.

Afterward, Swift went on Twitter to thank Sande for her London appearance. “SHE IS SO HEAVENLY. I’ve had the best time here,” she tweeted.

During her U.K. tour, Swift welcomed plenty of surprise guests to the stage including Jennifer Lopez and Carly Simon.

Michael Vick's Ex Recalls STD Incident In Upcoming Tell All (@BellaEscritor)

A former stripper who now goes by the name of Bella Escritor has released excerpts of her upcoming tell all book about her relationship with former Eagles Michael Vick.

According to Madame Noire, in her latest excerpt, the alleged ex-girlfriend of Michael Vick shares her story of a herpes scare that occurred in 2005. While there were rumors of Vick catching the disease, Bella says that she was worried he wasn't being honest about his sexual status.

She writes:

Another news headline came up a little further into my relationship with Vick. The headlines had to do with Vick having been accused of somehow giving a girl he slept with in the past, herpes. When I first saw the herpes news story, I was immediately scared for myself. Although I had practiced safe sex with Vick, I was still concerned that I could have accidentally made some kind of skin-to-skin contact. I didn't play when it came to my health. I was regular with my checkups and STD/AIDS test even when I was not having sex with anyone. People would often call me a hypochondriac about my health, but I always thought it was better to be safe than sorry.

The news headlines were accusing Vick of using an alias by the name of [R.] Mexico, and going to a local clinic, and disguising himself to find out if he contracted herpes. The woman in question claimed to have been careless enough to allow Vick to have unprotected sex with her. She later said she found out the hard way after having symptoms and going to seek medical care that she allegedly had contracted herpes from Vick.

I rushed to my doctor to have lab work performed and eagerly awaited the rapid results of my blood work and cultures. Although the initial physical exam revealed nothing, I was still nervous as hell about what bad news may come. That night I went to see Vick, and unlike any time before where I would just wait for him to tell me what he wanted me to know, I asked him for myself right then and there. When I asked him, Vick told me that he did know the girl in question. He went on to say that they did have sex more than once but that he practiced safe sex each time. After saying that, he finally answered my question with a simple, 'no, I don't have it.'"

Bella has released pieces of her story through her blog, and also wrote about his dog fighting scandal. Given how long it's been do you think she's telling the truth?

Paul George's Ex Clowns Him on Twitter for Knocking Up Stripper (@paul_george24 @jennyferdeanne)

Indiana Pacers baller Paul George caused quite the stir earlier this week when news broke that he had allegedly impregnated a Miami stripper named Daniela and then offered her a cool milly to get an abortion. While many were appalled by the allegations, some reveled in the schadenfreude -- possibly none more so than his former boo, Jennyfer.

Tweets and re-tweets from Jennyfer that came after the news broke made it very evident that she has absolutely no sympathy for George, and instead finds the situation quite funny. Check them out above.

In a statement to TMZ Sport, George says if the baby turns out to be his, he'll man up and do the right thing. "If and when there is legal confirmation that I am the father, I will fully embrace my responsibilities. This is a personal matter that is still being sorted out, so I hope you can respect my privacy."

As for the rumor of a million dollar abortion offer, a spokesman for George says it's absolutely false. "There is no truth to the rumors that Paul offered money for [Daniela] not to have the child."

You can see a few IG flicks of Jennyfer and the stripper in question up top as well.

"Money is NOT and issue for Terrell. Come on, she's a postal worker," the rep said. "Do you really think she's the primary on the loan?"

The loan in question was a few million which Snider claims that he got in her name. His rep also repeated that Owens isn't broke and plans to file for divorce as soon as he gets back to California.

11 Members Of Black Fraternity In Atlanta Arrested For Hazing

Eleven members of the Zeta Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi turned themselves into police on misdemeanor hazing charge.

According to AP, the men are being accused of beating up pledges on the University Of Georgia campus. School officials have suspended the men immediately. If convicted on the charges the men will face up to a year in jail and a fine of $5,000. None of the pledges required medical help.

Other cases in hazing have proven to be much worse like the death of a student at a Pennsylvania college last year, and the death of a student at Florida State A&M. Both men were following hazing rituals by the fraternities.

A defense attorney for one of the Kappa's members claims that the students never hazed the pledges.

Yasiin Gaye – Inner City Travellin’ Man (Soul Mates Remix)

yasiinbey

Amerigo Gazaway’s new *Soul Mates* series continues the theme of his previous work in creating collaborations that never were. On the series’ first installment, the producer unites Brooklyn rapper Yasiin Bey (Formerly Mos Def) and soul legend Marvin Gaye for a dream collaboration aptly titled “Yasiin Gaye”.

Building the album’s foundation from deconstructed samples of Gaye’s Motown classics, Gazaway re-orchestrates the instrumentation into new productions within a similar framework. Carefully weaving Bey’s dense raps and Gaye’ soulful vocals over his new arrangements, the producer delivers a quality far closer to Gaye’s famous duets than that of a “mashup” album.

Look out for the full album on February 25th!
