Eleven members of the Zeta Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi turned themselves into police on misdemeanor hazing charge.
According to AP, the men are being accused of beating up pledges on the University Of Georgia campus. School officials have suspended the men immediately. If convicted on the charges the men will face up to a year in jail and a fine of $5,000. None of the pledges required medical help.
Other cases in hazing have proven to be much worse like the death of a student at a Pennsylvania college last year, and the death of a student at Florida State A&M. Both men were following hazing rituals by the fraternities.
A defense attorney for one of the Kappa's members claims that the students never hazed the pledges.
