A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the slaying of former G-Unit associate Mazaradi Fox. Jamal Scott, of Queens, N.Y., was apprehended Monday morning (Feb. 10) while at work at the Hyatt Place Hotel in New York.
Last month, Fox, real name Jamal Green, was in his SUV with three other people when his vehicle was sprayed with bullets. The 42-year-old rapper was fatally shot in the chest while the other passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Weeks prior to the fatal shooting, Green was reportedly released from prison after serving a two-year sentence for attempted assault.
According to the NY Post, Scott was charged with one count of second-degree murder and three counts of second-degree attempted murder as well as criminal possession of a weapon. Police are also looking for a second suspect who remains at-large.
Authorities wouldn’t reveal a motive for the shooting. Scott had been arrested 10 times prior, mostly for weapons and drug charges.
