Elton John Interested in Making Music With Kanye West (@eltonjohndotcom)

Don't be surprised if you hear Elton John hopping on a record with Kanye West or Pharrell at some time in the near future, because the 66-year-old music legend revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that he's interested in making hip-hop.

"I'd love to," John told the magazine when asked if he's still interested in making hip hop. "I just don't know how to do it. I do love electronica. So, for me, I'd have to work with someone who knows about it, like a Pharrell or a Kanye, who I respect tremendously. I'd love to do that."

"You never can knock anybody else's type of music until you try it," John said about working outside his genre. "I could never do a rap record because I wouldn't know where to start. You can learn so much from working with somebody that does. In the studio with Kanye, when I was doing that in Honolulu, he was just on fire. It was amazing to watch. You knew you were in the presence of greatness. I knew once I heard four or five tracks from that in the studio, I knew it was going to be a motherf*cker of a record."

The knighted singer previously worked with Kanye on "All of The Lights" off "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy."

Locksmith Showcases Elite Lyricism in 'Archaic' Freestyle Video

Every time Locksmith touches the microphone, he displays why he’s one of the best lyricists in the rap game today. As he preps for the release of his new album, the Bay Area rhymer administers another round of lyrical wizardry with this video for his ‘Archaic’ freestyle.

The track may be short, but it packs plenty of punch. Locksmith takes the competition to task on this powerful freestyle which he co-produced alongside Mike Blankenship. The video is straightforward and keeps the focus on Lock’s every word as he dazzles with his rhyming ability.

Lock raps, “But I guess it’s all relative / slow n—-s rap and sound like you off sedatives / every now and then, found an end to expound a trend / claiming you profound when the sound is all repetitive / whatever lives in your soul is so blinded / either you don’t mind it or don’t realize that your close-minded.”

Locksmith’s album ‘A Thousand Cuts’ will be released on April 15th and can be pre-ordered now on iTunes.

Keyshia Cole Partners With Juicy J on 'Rick James'

Keyshia Cole Rick JamesSoundcloud

If you think Keyshia Cole’s single ‘Rick James’ is about the late soul icon, think again. The slinky trap-and-B ballad features K.Cole in all her fierceness.

The song, which is the first single from her upcoming sixth album, has the R&B songstress giving her ex-lover the boot for his infidelity. She then promises to smack a bitch like Rick James if he sees him again.

“I can see the picture shattered / We can’t pick up the pieces off the ground / Till the point that nothing matters / And it’s way too late to talk it out,” she sings.

Juicy J backs Cole up and drops a cautionary verse to warn the adulterous beau to stay away because Cole has taken off her earrings and is about to get ratchet.

“You broke her heart homie now your life finna change / She cold-blooded like she got ice in her veins / Got me chillin’ in your house throwing diamonds on your spouse / Wipe my feet on your couch, bitch, I’m Rick James,” he raps.

The R&B mom is currently working on her currently untitled album, which is due out later this year. The collection boasts 15 tracks including ‘Believer’ and her duet with Future called ‘Love Letter.’

Keyshia Cole recently announced that she’s planning to release another single called ‘Next Time.’

Consequence Implores You to 'Follow the Buzzards' on New Wrestling Inspired Track

Neilson Barnard, Getty Images

Consequence is ready for WrestleMania 30 next month as the Queens, NY rapper drops a new wrestling themed track ‘Follow the Buzzards’. The WWE’s Wyatt Family provides heavy inspiration for this new cut as Cons jacks the instrumental to the group’s theme song and uses Bray Wyatt’s signature catchphrase as the song title.

Clearly Consequence is wrestling fanatic as the track is filled with pinpoint references about the Wyatt Family’s gimmick and samples audio clips from the group.

Cons raps, “Despite what the truth is, the rumors keep going / but the real fans be knowing / so it’s like I’m walking with a canteen glowing / cause finally the sheep ‘gon follow like Erick Rowan / cause all my riddles be cray / but I don’t talk in riddles like Bray.”

Taco Bell Diner Choked and Beaten With Chair for Belching

A patron of a South Carolina Taco Bell told police he was choked and hit with a chair on Sunday after belching and failing to say excuse me.

Isaiah Morris, 20, was eating with a friend at a Taco Bell in Tega Cay when a man interrupted their lunch to ask if Morris "had just belched and not said excuse me," reports the Smoking Gun.

After Morris asked the unidentified man to repeat himself, he allegedly became infuriated. The man picked up a chair and struck Morris on the arm, then grabbed his throat and tried to headbutt him.

A Taco Bell employee was able to break up the fracas, and the man left in what was described as a white pick-up truck.

While responding officers noticed a redness around Morris' throat and a wound on his arm, it's doubtful the suspect will be brought to justice; the Taco Bell manager told police that "he did not believe that the surveillance cameras were able to record the incident."

The Tega Cay police Department has administratively closed the case pending further evidence.

More A-List Names Revealed on Lindsay Lohan's Alleged Sex List (@lindsaylohan)

Last week we reported that In Touch Weekly had gotten ahold of a list that contained the names of 36 celebrities Lindsay Lohan had allegedly slept with.

While several huge stars appeared on the list, including Justin Timberlake, Wlimer Valderrama, Zac Efron, Colin Farrell, and Heath Ledger, half of the names were blurred out because according to the magazine, "This getting out now could rock several Hollywood relationships to the core."

Apparently that's no longer a concern, because on Wednesday In Touch revealed the names of 13 more celebs who Lindsay Lohan allegedly knocked the boots with.

Orlando Bloom, Ryan Phillippe, Ashton Kutcher, and 47-year-old Benicio Del Toro all appear on the list.

“It was her personal conquest list,” a source, who watched Lindsay write down the names at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Jan. 30, 2013, told In Touch. “She was trying to impress her friends with the list and then tossed it aside.”

Second Teen Charged in RondoNumbaNine Murder Case (@rondonumbanine)

A second gunman has been charged with the Feb. 22 murder of Chicago cab driver Javan Boyd, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Courtney Ealy, 19, is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Boyd, police said. Ealy, who had been released from jail on a robbery probation violation just two weeks before the shooting, was ordered held without bail on Wednesday in a hearing in Cook County Violence Court.

17-year-old Clint Massey, a Chicago rapper who performs as "RondoNumbaNine," was charged a week ago in connection with the murder of Boyd and was ordered held on $2M bond, according to court records.

On the day of the shooting, the 28-year-old cab driver was sitting in his car about 4 a.m. waiting for a passenger, according to police.

Three cars drove past, with Ealy and Massey riding in the first car. The vehicle made a U-turn and pulled up next to Boyd's car, prosecutors said today. The teens approached the passenger side of Boyd's car and asked him if he was from the neighborhood.

When Boyd replied that he was, the teens opened the passenger-side door of the cab and opened fire on Boyd, hitting him seven times, prosecutors said. Ealy and Massey got back in their car and all three cars sped away from the scene.

Ealy dropped his cell phone outside Boyd's car, and prosecutors were able to match a fingerprint from the phone to a print found in the cab. Prosecutors said last week that one of Massey's prints was found on the car.

Officials believe the killing was done in retaliation for an earlier altercation, but didn't go into specifics.

You can see Ealy's mugshot up top, plus a few IG photos of Massey.

Big Sean to Headline Engage Music Festival 2014

Big SeanMike Coppola, Getty Image

With all the music festival announcements popping up the past few weeks, here’s another to add to the list. Engage Music Festival taps Big Sean as the headliner for the fest’s first night on April 25.

Along with the rapper, DJ Scott Melker with his Melker Project and Gosteffects will be representing New York City. Italy’s EDM duo Playin’Fields will also perform.

The music series will take its show to various cities throughout Massachusetts in hopes of merging technology, art and culture to form a full experience for concertgoers. The festival ends in September with a closing show in Boston.

“We are the Millennials, Generation Y. We live in a world where we are always connected by technology,” the festival’s founder says in a statement. “However, we’ve learned that connection through technology is not a replacement for the human connection, and we have found our own way through music. Around the world, tens of thousands of us are convening at music festivals. And now it’s Boston’s turn.”

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the festival’s website.

Man Records Police Blackmailing Him Into Framing Someone

A St. Louis man secretly recorded police attempting to blackmail him into framing an innocent person on a gun charge.

Terry Robinson, 21, was handcuffed and put into the back of a police car despite not having done anything wrong. Police, in an attempt to scare him into cooperating, pretended to drive him back to the station, so he recorded their conversation with his phone.

Robinson says these same two officers have been harassing him and asking him for the name of someone they can plant a gun on, reports KMOV.

"If you don't give me anything in the next 24 hours then I'll write this case up as you ran from me but you got away. But I know who you are and you had this gun," one of the officers told Robinson.

While in the cruiser, the young man asked for more time to find someone to set up. However, after he was let go he called his mother, who contacted Robinson's attorney.

The commander of the St. Louis Police Internal Affairs division tells KMOV he is taking the investigation into the blackmailing attempt very seriously.

Wu-Tang Clan Drop 'Keep Watch'

Wu-Tang Clan Keep WatchAudiomack

After a long wait, we finally get a new song from the Wu-Tang Clan. The hip-hop collective dropped a new track called ‘Keep Watch’ today, which is apparently from their oft-delayed album, ‘A Better Tomorrow.’

Produced by DJ Mathematics, the track features Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna and the GZA rapping over a marching beat and a soul sample. R&B crooner Nathaniel is also featured singing the ‘Keep Watch’ hook.

The foursome pretty much spit tough-minded rhymes for the streets. Meth kicks the song off rapping, “I’m killing instrumentals with that all so simple can it B-boy / Shout to Lil Cease, B.I.G., boy / And Funk Doctor Spock, I mean Redman that’s not Leonard Nimoy.”

Deck also comes through with some intricate bi-lingual wordplays. “Codename sensei, I live what my pen say / Game hall of fame, flow is MJ / Muy caliente, je m’apelle Rebel, capiche, comprende?” he spits.

Finally, Cappadonna and the GZA wrap things up with some gritty rhymes and planetary lyrics, respectively, which are Wu certified.

‘Keep Watch’ is available at the Wu-Tang Clan’s online shop. There’s still no word on when ‘A Better Tomorrow’ will arrive in stores.

GoldieBlox Apologizes to Beastie Boys for 'Girls' Use in 'Princess Machine' Ad

Beastie BoysDonald Weber, Getty Images

GoldieBlox has already removed the Beastie Boys‘ song ‘Girls’ from the company’s ‘Princess Machine’ commercial, which debuted last year, but it looks like the toy company has gone a step further and is issuing a public apology to the two remaining members of the hip-hop group.

The toymakers reveal that they should have contacted the Beastie Boys to “secure the proper rights” to the track before putting it in ‘Princess Machine.’ The ad the soon went viral after its release. However, it’s unlikely that the toy company’s request would have been granted after late member Adam “MCA” Yauch will stated that anything he’s in, wrote or created can’t be used for advertising purposes.

GoldieBlox wrote on its website:

“We sincerely apologize for any negative impact our actions have had on the Beastie Boys. We never intended to cast the band in a negative light and we regret putting them in a position to defend themselves when they had done nothing wrong.

As engineers and builders of intellectual property, we understand an artist’s desire to have his or her work treated with respect. We should have reached out to the band before using their music in the video.

We know this is only one of the many mistakes we’re bound to make as we grow our business. The great thing about mistakes is how much you can learn from them. As trying as this experience was, we have learned a valuable lesson. From now on, we will secure the proper rights and permissions in advance of any promotions, and we advise any other young company to do the same.”

While the Beastie Boys didn’t try to take GoldieBlox to court, the toymakers flipped the script and sued the hip-hop group. Claiming they didn’t use the actual song, but a parody of it instead. However, the suit didn’t hold up, and GoldieBlox did take the song down in the end. The company’s founder Debbie Sterling explained that she was unaware of Yauch’s wishes.

Hopefully, this will put the whole saga to rest.

Mississippi to Drug Test Welfare Recipients

A law passed in the Mississippi Senate which will require some welfare recipients to undergo drug tests. The law, which has the support of Gov. Phil Bryant, will go into effect July 1.

The new law will require applicants to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families to fill out a questionnaire which will ostensibly evaluate their likelihood of drug abuse. If applicants are deemed at risk, they will be required to take a drug test. A positive result will require them them to undergo substance abuse treatment. A second positive result will cut their benefits for 90 days, while a third will deny benefits for up to a year.

Critics of the tests, which are estimated to cost TANF about $36,000 per year, argue that the money could go towards benefits such as cash assistance, child care assistance, job training programs, and others.

Lil Wayne Says He's 'Older, Wiser' on 'Tha Carter V'

Lil Wayne says he’s in tune with himself on his next project ‘Tha Carter V,’ which is reportedly his final album.

In his interview with MTV News, Weezy believes the project is a more mature effort compared to his previous releases.

“I say it’s different, because I’m older and wiser, and I know more things and I know more about myself now,” he states.

The Young Money leader explains that he’s more conscious about his lyrics this time around, considering that some of his off-the-cut verses has gotten him in major trouble in the past.

“I’m more careful about what I’m doing and trying to be more careful what I’m saying,” Wayne says. “I knew that I had people above me or around me that was gonna make sure whatever I said or shouldn’t have said or whatever I did or shouldn’t have did. Well now, I’m those people, and I’m telling me what I should do and what I shouldn’t say.”

Overall, Wayne believes that fans will enjoy what he’s bringing to ‘Tha Carter V.’

“It’s awesome; it’s coming together dope,” the MC shares. “I think the Wayne fans are gonna like it. I hope so.”

Nick Cannon Enlists Future, Migos And Traphik For New Single, 'Pajama Pants'

Nick CannonIt’s been quite some time since we really heard any new music from Nick Cannon, although he did drop that song ‘Dance Floor’ dedicated to his wife Mariah Carey in January. It looks like the rapper, actor, comedian and TV personality is back with a song that’s not only going to get you back on the dance floor but it might inspire a new style trend at the clubs.

‘Pajama Pants’ might sound like an innocent slumber party song, but with the inclusion of a slow but bass-heavy beat and Future, Migos and ‘Wild ‘N Out’ comedian Traphik included with Cannon, the track sounds more like the next twerking anthem.

“Don’t wanna see you in no skirt / Don’t wanna see you in no blouse / There some hoes / There some hoes / There some hoes in this house,” Cannon delivers.

This potential twerk anthem doesn’t only give shout outs to the ladies but also to their grannies, which makes things sound a bit more ridiculous. “But don’t believe the rumors / From college girls to cougars / They creepin’ in my room / Trying to cut like Freddie Cruger / Strippers, I salute ya / Girls, hallelujah / Even got your grandma twerk, twerkin’ out her bloomers,” he yells on the mic.

‘Pajama Pants’ is off Cannon’s upcoming album, ‘White People Party Music, set for release April 1. Co-executive produced by Cannon, Polow Da Don and DJ Buddah, the 18-track project will also feature many guests including Afrojack, Pitbull and Akon.

Texas Rapper Ray Jasper Set For Execution, Pens Final Letter

Ray Jasper, an aspiring rapper, will be executed today (March 19) barring any last-minute appeals. A U.S. district court judge in San Antonio, Texas has rejected the 33-year-old’s appeal of his death sentence.

Jasper was convicted in 1998 of slitting the throat and stabbing David Alejandro, a recording studio owner, so he could rob him of his equipment. Jasper and two friends recorded at the studio for about two hours and then took out knives to attack Alejandro.

“Jasper slashed Alejandro’s throat from ear to ear, but did not kill him,” the Texas attorney general’s office said.

Afterward, Jasper and an accomplice repeatedly stabbed Alejandro until he was dead. About $10,000 to $30,000 worth of equipment was stolen from the studio.

Jasper admitted to cutting Alejandro’s throat to steal equipment, but he insists a partner was responsible for the studio owner’s fatal stab wounds. Two other men with Jasper during the attack are now serving life in prison.

The state of Texas, which executes more people than any other in the U.S., plans to execute Ray Jasper at 6PM CDT by lethal injection at its death chamber in Huntsville.

Jasper recently sent a final letter from death row to Gawker, in which he describes the prison industry as slavery.

Understandably, he’s also not fond of the death penalty.

“I don’t agree with the death penalty, ” he writes. “It’s a very Southern practice from that old lynching mentality. Almost all executions take place in the South with a few exceptions here and there. Texas is the leading State by far.”

“The death penalty needs to be abolished,” he continues. Life without parole is still a death sentence. The only difference is time. To say you need to kill a person in a shorter amount of time is just seeking revenge on that person.”

Jasper signs off the letter with this statement:

“I’m a father. My daughter was six weeks old when I got locked up and now she’s 15 in high school. Despite the circumstances, I’ve tried to be the best father in the world. But I knew that her course in life is largely determine by what I teach her. It’s the same with any young person, their course is determined by what we are teaching them. In the words of Aristotle, ‘All improvement in society begins with the education of the young.’”

The effort will feature the collaboration track ‘Vertigo’ with his lady love Jordin Sparks.

Recently, the singer surprised Sparks on Valentine’s Day with a hotel room filled with 10,000 orange roses. “She was shocked,” Derulo revealed. “I was shocked when I came in the room too ’cause I ain’t never seen 10,000 flowers in the room like that, so it was kinda crazy.”
