Lil Wayne Sued by Producer Over 'Mirror' Track
Lil Wayne has been slapped with a lawsuit by a producer who claims that he’s owed thousands of dollars for the song ‘Mirror.’
The chart-topping track, which features Bruno Mars on the hook, appeared on Weezy’s 2011 album, ‘Tha Carter IV,’ which has sold over 2 million copies in the U.S.
According to TMZ, producer Ramon Owen (aka REO) of the production crew the Soundkillers, claims that he produced ‘Mirror’ and was promised royalties from the sale of the song.
The 30-year-old studio maverick states in his suit that Young Money sent him a statement showing him that he’s due $91,000 for his services. But as of now, REO has received “zero” funds for his work. Now he wants Wayne to pay up.
In a 2011 interview with MTV News, REO explained that the ‘Mirror’ beat fell into the hands of several prominent rappers but Wayne was the one who snatched it up.
“[Kanye West] heard it, Drake heard it, and it already had the Bruno [hook],” he said. “Basically, Nas had it for a while, and it just ended up in the hands of Wayne and he loved it.”
In the past few years, Wayne has been sued by a multitude of producers. In 2011 alone, the ‘Believe Me’ rapper had at least five different lawsuits pending by producers who claim they haven’t received royalties for their work on several Wayne albums.
Attorneys for Lil Wayne had no comment on his recent legal case.

Drake's Team Under Police Investigation for Allegedly Threatening Stripper's Life
Rappers getting up close and personal with strippers isn’t big news. But threatening them after the deed is done, that’s a different story.
Drake and his crew are being accused of doing just that. TMZ reports that the ‘Nothing Was the Same’ rapper, along with his camp, threatened a stripper for attempting to disclose information about the rapper after she had sex with him. Apparently things have gotten so bad that the Houston police have launched a full investigation.
Jhonni Blaze told authorities that after she hit the sheets with Drake, the ’0 to 100′ rhymer was worried that she would tell the world all about their tryst. Not only has she received “angry” texts, but Jhonni also claims that Drake’s people have been banging on her door and threatening her life.
While she’s already gone to the police, she isn’t sure if she wants to press charges just yet. Houston PD still want to talk to the other party, who they have only referred to as a “possible celebrity.”
Drake has remained quiet on the matter, however, sources close to the rapper claim that the allegations are false.

T.I. and Pharrell Recount the Hustle to Success on 'Paperwork'
T.I. has been hard at work on his new album, ‘Paperwork,’ and now we get to hear his tale of the hustle on the title track.
Starting with a light drum beat, the song goes into an old school R&B melody, which brings us back to the old days of Motown. The track features Pharrell, who adds a soulful feel to the effort.
“Don’t do no business until you check his (paperwork) / And if all else fails, I just hope that this (paperwork) / Wanna swing Bentley doors, blow smoke through the roof / Everything got a cost, they gone need something on you (paperwork),” Pharrell croons on the hook.
While the song sounds light on the melody and with Pharrell’s contribution, it actually delves into some deeper, darker material. T.I. gets personal on the track and talks about growing up fast and not really having a male figure in his life.
“Picture me in ’93 / I’m the only man I see / Fresh up off the porch / Lookin’ for a drop Porsche and a fake ID / Introduce me to the crack game / Rap game was the furthest from my mind / Had a notebook full of rhymes / And a pocket full of crack rock dimes / Time on my side, lift .45 in my jeans,” he spits on the second verse.
However, as we see now, he’s a much different man from the one he raps about.
If you’re into this song, then you’re in for a treat because this is the type of music the ATL MC plans to put out there with the upcoming album.
“[It] pretty much kinda sums up the tone of the album,” T.I. told MTV News. “The cinematic presentation of it all. When you listen to the album, top to bottom, it kinda sounds like the score to a movie and I think ‘Paperwork’ is the perfect introduction to that.”
‘Paperwork’ is set to release on Oct. 21.

Bobby Shmurda Detained By Police in Brooklyn
Bobby Shmurda can’t seem to catch a break. After being busted on a gun possession charge this past summer, the ‘Hot N—-’ rhymer had a run-in with the law again last week. This time over some weed.
According to TMZ, Shmurda was detained overnight by police after he was allegedly caught smoking a joint with two buddies while double-parked on a street in Brooklyn.
Apparently, police took him to jail where he spent the night. Unfortunately, the incident made him miss a scheduled concert performance. Shmurda expressed his anger over the arrest on his Instagram page.
“So da bum ass cops locked me up yesterday Fa some bulls— made me miss [a show],” he wrote.
Hopefully, Shmurda can stay out of trouble long enough to make his late-night television debut this week.
On Friday (Oct. 10), the in-demand rapper will perform his ubiquitous single, ‘Hot N—-’ on ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.’ The program airs at 11:30PM ET on NBC.
