Berlin Artists Create 'Tape Paris' with 27 Miles of Scotch Tape [VIDEO]
While Scotch tape is being scooped up for the gift-wrapping season, Numen / For Use, a Berlin collective of artists, decided to use it for another purpose.
‘Tape Paris’ is an installation spanning the walls and pillars of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. At 50 meters (about 164 feet) in length and six meters (almost 20 feet) high, the massive and very impressive structure took 12 people over the course of 10 days to construct the tape labyrinth. Yes, this can actually support human weight.
Numen / For Use say that, “[t]he main idea was to transform the whole building into a convulsive mind/body organism whose slippery inner limits a motivated explorer has yet to trace and confront. The stretched biomorphic skin of Tape Paris is marking the entry point to the whole experience, being a literal incarnation of an inner-directed, regressive environment – the sense of descent into the primordial always lingering around its openings.”
‘Tape Paris’ is part of the ‘Inside’ exhibition, which will run until January 2015.

Ty Dolla $ign in Trouble for Marijuana Possession
The marijuana laws may be changing in Washington D.C., Alaska and Oregon, but if you’re toking up in the state of Wisconsin expect to be cited.
That’s what happened to Ty Dolla $ign when his tour bus was searched Wednesday (Nov. 12). According to TMZ, the ‘Lies & Dreams’ creator was in the bus when it was pulled over for a mechanical problem, which then made police stop to see what was happening.
When they entered the bus, a strong smell of weed was permeating through the air, causing police to conduct a search — they found an ounce-and-a-half of weed.
All seven people on the bus were charged with possession, probably because no one admitted to being the owner. The group was also cited for having paraphernalia.
But here’s the strange thing, Ty’s rep said he wasn’t even on the bus, he was on a plane heading to Nebraska, but for some reason he was still charged. Fortunately, for the singer and his crew, only civil charges apply in this case, not criminal, so just a $500 fine has to be paid.
Whether the California native decides to challenge the fine remains to be seen, but with a last name like Dolla $ign, it shouldn’t be a problem to cough up the necessary funds, not to mention he’s making money hand over fist these days — producing, doing features and performing at a ton of shows.

Acapulco Gold Fall 2014 Collection
Apparel company Acapulco Gold is giving fans the one-two punch in flyness. First, they delivered the Nike SB Dunk High ‘Mowabb’ earlier this week and now they’re giving consumers their Fall/Winter 2014 capsule.
The bountiful collection boasts their long-sleeve “NY Danger” tees, five-panel caps, bucket hats, beanies, sweatshirts, hoodies, flannels, selvage jeans and T-shirts.
Among the standouts from this collection are their Cut and Sew flannel shirts made from 190 gm cotton so they are soft and comfy without being too heavy. The RIP Biggie tees will be a hot seller and a sad reminder of the Brooklyn funeral procession for the late rhymer. The New Yorker Tee shows Rakim in an unflattering mugshot. Like the God MC states on ‘I Ain’t No Joke,’ “I’m hyper as a heart attack nobody smiling.” Finally, the “Bricks” sweatshirt with its image of a bulldog is another solid look in this tough collection.
All of these items and more are available now at Acapulco Gold’s online store. Check out the collection below.

Flying Lotus Debuts Unreleased Kendrick Lamar Verse During Show [VIDEO]
When a rapper jumps on another artist’s track, sometimes we don’t get to hear the final product due to a host of different reasons, which is why we haven’t heard Kendrick Lamar‘s verse on Flying Lotus‘ ‘Eyes Above.’
But fortunately for us, the West Coast producer plays the verse during his shows, which is enough to get the crowd all the way turnt. And now there’s a YouTue video floating around, giving us a chance to hear the track. Although the audio is kind of fuzzy, you can hear some of K. Dot’s potent lines.
“This is no radio flip, this is me taking your food / This is you bullied at school, give up your jacket and shoes / This is how I practice the rules, this is what happen with dudes / Flying Lotus notice the genius that wrote it is rude / DJ’s promote it, I diagnosed it with viruses too / Microphones open and plugged in running inside of Pro Tools / How can I die to these fools,” spits Kendrick.
In the short clip, you can see that Flylo not only plays the unreleased verse, but he makes a whole production of it by stopping the show, shouting Kendrick’s name and including a special visual component.
The reason why the verse was never put on record has to do with political reasons, said the unconventional beatmaker and DJ, but it’s clear he still wants to bless the fans by playing it during his shows, which is great for us.

Mary J. Blige Performs 'Right Now' on 'Ellen' [VIDEO]
Mary J. Blige‘s ‘The London Sessions’ album will arrive in a few weeks and the chanteuse has been on the road promoting the new music. She stopped by ‘Ellen’ yesterday (Nov. 13) to perform her single, ‘Right Now.’
Dressed in a tailored pale periwinkle pant suit and pumps, Mary looks chic and stylish on the stage. Meanwhile, her performance shows that her 13th LP has a different vibe but still has the elements of soul and R&B that we’ve always known her for.
Produced and co-written by Disclosure, with help from Sam Smith, the song is only a hint of what we’ll be getting from the new album, which Ellen Degeneres couldn’t stop raving about when the two sat down to chat.
“I think it’s the best work that you’ve done,’ the TV host and comedian said. “Wait till you hear this CD.”
Mary also talks about how the entire project came about, which you can see at the end of the video above.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul will also perform at the American Music Awards — where she’s nominated for Favorite Female Artist – Soul/R&B, on Nov. 25 — ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Dec. 1 and ‘A Very GRAMMY Christmas’ on Dec. 5.

Snoh Aalegra Taps Common and Killer Mike for 'Bad Things'
Singer Snoh Aalegra realizes that she’s both a dream and a nightmare and she’s tapped Common and Killer Mike to help her tell the story.
On ‘Bad Things,’ Produced by No I.D., Snoh sings of a good girl gone bad and she’s not necessarily feeling guilty about the change. The track features a mid-tempo beat that has a sense of drama.
“I do bad things to good versions of me / I find good things in bad versions of me / I don’t know, it’s just versions of me, babe,” she sings on the hook.
What makes this track especially interesting is the fact that she invited Common and Run the Jewel’s Killer Mike to put verses on two different versions.
Common’s verse reveals that he’s a good guy that can get into trouble, but he tries to keep things on the straight and narrow — even though he’s tempted by a bad girl like her.
“A child of the light goin’ wild for the night / ‘Cause most the fights I have, yo I have with myself / A good doer, I can do bad by myself / The sad that I felt that I could never be / With nobody, girl you know my G / O.D. on the good life, I’m a man, it’s simple / Probably the things I been through went the evil that meant to / I want my cake and eat it, heartbreak they take and leave it / The same song I’m being featured, I can’t delete it / The good you can see it, but you really get bad girl,” he delivers.
Listen to Snoh Aalegra’s ‘Bad Things’ Feat. Common
Meanwhile on Killer Mike’s verse, he straight up says he’s no good or even worse than Snoh. And by their own vices, they can essentially do bad things together. But in the end, he’s just no good.
“My killer country lingo make these women treat me single / They mingle with amigo, head, yeah and it’s on / And I ain’t ever hit her, but yeah I got some dome, gone / To my next adventure, exts you was textin’, but can’t exit with you / I said I love you, girl please, I was messin’ with you / The E must have had me Xin’ with you / Molly and a mirror wanna have me flexin’ on you / Cause baby I’m a liar, cheater, killer, willer, dealer,” he spits on the mic.

‘Bad Things’ appears on her upcoming EP, ‘There Will Be Sunshine,” which arrives Monday (Nov. 17) via ARTium, the label founded by No I.D. to which she’s signed to. Stream the whole project on Snoh’s website.
