Game Reveals 'Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf' Album Cover

The Game Year of the WolfThe Game

Like many artists, Game is very grateful for his fans. And to show his appreciation, the Compton rapper devised a contest to let the public design the cover for his upcoming album, ‘Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf.’ Now he unveils the winning artwork.

After tons of entries, he chose the work of Ruben WestSide Ramos, otherwise known as @xoramos661 on Instagram. For the cover, Ramos drew a wolf with Game’s facial tattoo on its cheek bowing down to a little girl who resembles Game’s daughter.

In a detailed explanation, Game revealed why he went with this particular design. “In the end it was the concept (the world sees me as a big bad wolf but to my daughter @littlemisscali I’m just dad & her every wish in life is my command), simplicity & white background & Documentary style font had me sold,” he wrote in the caption of the Instagram photo showcasing the album cover.

Ecstatic over being chosen, Ramos not only thanked the rapper for selecting his design but also revealed how it was created in a photo montage on his Instagram account.

With so many entries that came in, Game decided to pick another artist whose piece will appear on the physical disc. “I figured I’d allow another one of my fans win the actual CD artwork placement so I’m proud to announce this am that @luxurydesignstudio will take that spot,” he wrote.

While he’s happy about his decisions for the album design, he understands that not everyone will be pleased about the choices he made and addressed them accordingly. ” I understand that the world has to have haters for the REAL PEOPLE to excel in life,” Game wrote.

Now that ‘Year of the Wolf’ is all squared away, Game has invited fans to give designing another go with a contest to create the art for his next LP, ‘The Documentary 2.’

“Now that this contest has concluded, I started “The Documentary 2″ cover design contest & also provided you guys with the blueprint & a blank canvas to get started. You have til Dec 24th to submit all entries & the winner will be announced Jan 2nd 2015. Good luck & again, I thank every last one of my fans for taking the time & putting forth effort in these two contest,” he stated on Instagram.

‘Year of the Wolf’ releases on Oct. 14 while ‘The Documentary 2′ drops on Jan. 18.

G-Unit Speak on Reunion, New EP + More on 'Ebro in the Morning' [VIDEO]

The boys are back in town. G-Unit made a stop at Hot 97′s ‘Ebro in the Morning’ show to talk about their reunion at Summer Jam as well as upcoming projects that are in the works.

On reuniting with G-Unit soldiers Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck, leader 50 Cent said that it took one phone call to get the crew back. Although there have been some heated words against each member, in the end, the reunion happened because they’re brothers.

When Laura Stylez asked why Game was not part of the reunion crew, Yayo interjected, “My view of the industry is there’s a lot of snakes in it. The Game is a snake that won.”

“It’s deeper than rap. It’s the streets, y’all don’t get it,” he added.

The interview then switched over to Banks as Ebro asked him about Bobby Shmurda’s track ‘Hot N—-,’ which uses the same beat from his song ‘Jackpot.’ The Queens rhymer insists that he has nothing against Shmurda and wishes him the best in his endeavors.

“I’m happy for him,” he said. “They are having fun, man.”

Later, 50 Cent also commented on Floyd Mayweather challenging him to donate $750,000 to the Mike Brown Foundation. “Ask him to read page 3 of Harry Potter, I’ll donate $750,000 for page 3,” he said.

Elsewhere in the 35-minute interview, G-Unit open up about their new EP, ‘The Beauty of Independence,’ and their full-length reunion album, which is slated for release in October.

In the end, G-Unit are happy to be considered classic artists to a new generation of rap followers.

Mac Miller Releases Visuals for 'Diablo'

Mac Miller has been pretty quiet this summer. But don’t count out his work ethic as the rapper just released the visual for ‘Diablo,’ a cut off his ‘Faces’ mixtape.

The video finds Mac chilling in sunny Los Angeles with his crew and plenty of admirers. He also climbs on top of a food truck that bears the name of his promotional site, OldJewish.com, which he launched earlier this year.

But it’s the 22-year-old’s lyrics that are the main star of the clip. “Follow me, I could show you where we be’s at / How’d I get my g-pass, none of your f—in’ beeswax,” he spits over John Coltrane and Duke Ellington’s classic cut ‘In a Sentimental Mood.’ “Fools I pity them, I’m not a human I’m amphibian / Fake superhero like the Mystery Men.”

Bobby Shmurda Taps Fabolous, Busta Rhymes and More for 'Hot N—-' Remix

Bobby Shmurda Hot Nigga RemixBobby Shmurda

Bobby Shmurda has been on fire this summer with his track ‘Hot N—-.’ To keep things fresh, he threw down a reggae version of the song last week, and now, he’s got another remix that brings in the talent of some of the music industry’s heavy hitters.

The Brooklyn-bred rapper shows us that he’s made some famous friends by tapping Fabolous, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Rowdy Rebel, Yo Gotti and even R&B star Chris Brown. Each artist had the opportunity to deliver their own verses on the track with Shmurda kicking things off at the top. Over the Jahlil Beats production, Fab gives props to Brooklyn while Kiss holds it down for D-Block.

With some strong voices on the already sizzling track, Brown’s verse is a winner here.

“Fresh up out the county, I done did a little bid / Let the po-pos run up on me, I won’t tell them coppers s—,” he spits on the mic and adds, “You keep talkin’ that s—, I’ll knock you out / A n—- be pickin’ you up off of the ground for thinking you Tupac.”

Now let’s see what the young MC does with the track next.

Jhene Aiko Talks Motherhood, Dating and 'Souled Out' Album with Angie Martinez [VIDEO]

Jhene Aiko is on her promotional grind as she prepares to her release her new album, ‘Souled Out.’ The R&B songstress visited Power 105′s Angie Martinez to talk about a myriad of topics.

The interview began with them her speaking about being a mother to her 5-year-old daughter Namiko who is in first grade. That was followed by Aiko explaining how to properly say her full name: Jhene Aiko Efuru Chilombo.

Later, in the conversation, the Los Angeles native talked about being compared to Sade. While she understands why people compare her to the legendary singer, it’s not something she strives for with her music.

“When people make those comparisons to Sade, I see that,” she said. “I would never say it myself because people try to kill me if I compare myself to anyone that is that great.”

As for her new album, ‘Souled Out,’ Aiko says it’s a mellow vibe with “nice messages and chilled-out type of music.”

The conversation then segued into her sister Mila J, who is also a singer. The 26-year-old artist says they don’t plan on working together anytime soon.

“We don’t. We don’t work together. It’s weird, but it’s not because we’re sisters,” she says. “I feel like the style of music that I’m doing and where I want to go doesn’t meet up with the style that she’s doing and where she is now.”

However, Aiko insists that there is no personal beef between them, it’s just that they keep business and family separate from each other.

“It gets really messy if you’re working with family because that can mess up your personal relationships,” she explains. “When we [Mila J and I] see each other it’s all about family. It’s not about ‘when is your video dropping?’ We don’t even know half the time what we’re doing when it comes to that and I think that keeps the personal good.”

Her Pandora playlist, her relationship with Drake and Childish Gambino and whether she likes to be called “tiny” are all included.

‘Souled Out’ arrives in stores on Sept. 9. You can catch Aiko on the Weekend’s King of the Fall tour, which kicks off Sept. 19 in New York.

Chris Brown Talks Prison Experience, Life After Rihanna and His Mistakes in Billboard

Chris BrownJason Merritt, Getty Images

Over the past few years, Chris Brown has been a constant presence in the media. In today’s digital age, it’s easy to find out his every move, leaving the public ready to drop an opinion about his actions — good and bad. While the ‘New Flames’ singer has tried to ignore the haters, it’s obviously rough. With the release of his new album, ‘X,’ on the way, he’s finally opening up about his tribulations in Billboard’s latest cover story.

“I just have to realize it comes with the territory in this day and age of social media,” he tells Billboard. “My age group and younger stay on the phone and Internet. It’s easy access. So I just like to focus on what I’m doing instead of getting caught up.”

While he’s still an avid social media user, Brown explains that he won’t take every bad comment to heart and seems rather at peace.

“…Not everyone in the world is going to particularly love me,” he states. “But I’m cool with that. As long as I love myself and my music, I’m fine. People are going to say what they want to say. I don’t look over my shoulder or wish I could turn back the hands of time. Life is a learning experience, so I’m learning as I go. I’m not walking around angry about anything. So you just have to let it be.”

Although he’s tried to keep mum about Rihanna since his 2009 conviction for assaulting her, he can’t escape the talk surrounding the incident. “As long as you’re doing something good, people will always bring up old stuff or negative stuff because they don’t want you to surpass a certain level or elevate,” the 25-year-old shares. “But as long as you have your head on straight, it shouldn’t matter what people want to say.”

Since that very public scandal, Brown couldn’t avoid run-ins with the law. He recently left prison after doing 108 days for breaking parole after he got into an altercation with an individual outside a Washington, D.C. hotel last year. And even though some thought that he was able to tap into his creative juices while in the pen, he begs to differ.

“…jail isn’t a place of many creative spirits,” Brown says. “But as far as my creativity, I put it on hold until I got out. Jail is more of a regimen and a structure. I’m more of a free spirit when it comes to creating music, painting and art. So when I got out, I was very excited to get into the studio. I didn’t have any ideas or concepts; they usually come as I go [in to record]. I was drawing and sketching most of the time, biding time.”

Jeezy May Get Cleared in Gun Possession Case

Young JeezyJohn Parra, Getty Images

It’s looks like Jeezy may get cleared in his recent gun possession case. According to TMZ, the AK-47 rifle that was found on the bus doesn’t belong to the rapper.

The assault rifle was the reason why Jeezy and associates were jailed last week following a shooting death at a Wiz Khalifa concert. But the weapon is actually registered to the rapper’s head of security, who, at the time, was in the hospital.

An insider told TMZ that the security chief was in the hospital after getting shot in the arm during the Suge Knight shooting at 1OAK nightclub in L.A. He got caught in the crossfire when the rap mogul was shot several times.

Authorities found the AK-47 in a closed case in a separate area on Jeezy’s bus, which was no where near where Jeezy was at. So police may have jumped the gun — excuse the pun — in associating the Atlanta rhymer with weapon.

Jeezy also said in an interview with Power 105′s ‘The Breakfast Club’ that he’s confident that he’ll be exonerated on all charges regarding the case.

Meanwhile, the rhymer is currently promoting his new album, ‘Seen It All: The Autobiography,’ in stores now.
