Treach Drops New Song 'Come On' Featuring Stori
Naughty by Nature’s Treach is back in the studio working on some new music with his fellow partner DJ Kay Gee, under the Naughty Nation imprint. The first offering is the banging track ‘Come On.’
Produced by Scoop DeVille, the song takes NBN’s classic hit ‘O.P.P.’ and flips it in a new way. Treach also introduces up-and-coming New Jersey rapper-singer STORi who is currently signed to Motown Records.
Over a bass-heavy beat and familiar Jackson 5 sample (‘ABC’), STORi spits boastful rhymes in a rapid flow similar to the NBN rhymer.
“I’m taking other people’s paper every fucking day / That’s O.P.P. in Jersey that’s word to my city / Peace to Latifah, Lauryn, Naughty and the Fugees / You need to get out of my face if you acting fugazi,” she raps.
Meanwhile, Treach brags about his pedigree in rap and salutes the East and West coasts, spitting, “Ain’t no alarm in me or harming me / Army with harmony.”
Producer Scoop DeVille explained how he connected with Treach via his Soundcloud page. He writes:
While filming for Couples Therapy in [Los Angeles] and assembling new sounds for the project, Treach came together with Grammy Nominated producer Scoop DeVille, known for producing tracks for Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Eminem just to name a few, in Glenwood Studios in Burbank and the two came up with the idea to flip the well known “OPP” track to produce “Come On.” Treach, wanting to feature a new artist on the track thought it would be perfect to spotlight an emerging talent coming from NJ. Coincidentally, Scoop had just been working with Motown’s next female star, STORi, who happens to be from N.J. and suggested that she come into the studio. STORi arrived at the studio and the rest is history.

Asics Gel Lyte III 'Estate Blue'
It doesn’t take much for the Asics Gel Lyte III to be captivating. The inline colorways are often just as good as the collaborations and this ‘Estate Blue’ version serves as the perfect example of that.
A suede and mesh build is the backbone of this iteration and it’s totally drenched in the rich blue hue. Hits of white are prevalent as well with bits of grey falling into the mix as well. The ankle collar gets white polka dots as well for an added side of flair that gives the Asics Gel Lyte III a little extra personality.
No need to run down to your local retailer to snatch these up as Hypebeast has them in stock right now. That is unless you need a little exercise.

Jennifer Hudson's Half-Brother Arrested for Michigan Stabbing
Stephen Angelo Simpson, Jennifer Hudson‘s half-brother, was arrested yesterday (Aug. 19) for allegedly stabbing his estranged wife’s boyfriend on Monday evening (Aug. 18) in South Haven Charter Township, Mich.
According to WWMT, Simpson went to his estranged wife’s apartment in South Haven Charter Township in Van Buren County, Mich., where he stabbed her beau repeatedly after the man, who was only identified as Charlie, answered the door.
“I open the door and see blood everywhere,” Torrey Hunt, the neighbor that helped Charlie, told WWMT. “He was stabbed in his chin and his chest, he had puncture wounds in his chest and his arms and stuff.”
According to authorities, the victim had several stab wounds on the face. Simpson’s wife hid in the bathroom while he stabbed her boyfriend.
Simpson, who has a history of domestic violence, is currently on probation for multiple arrests, one of which includes assaulting his wife on Super Bowl Sunday.
Charlie came out of the situation with 20 to 30 stitches and was then released. Meanwhile, Simpson will likely be charged today (Aug. 20) for first degree home invasion and attempted murder.
Nike Air Tech Challenge Hybrid 'Denim'
The Nike Air Tech Challenge Hybrid is the best of the best for fans of the Nike Air Tech Challenge family. It blends all four models into one slick silhouette and this latest ‘Denim’ colorway gives a signal boost to that 90′s fashion sensibility.
The denim upper gets a light wash treatment that is contrasted by hits of black that are distributed very equally through colorblocking. Fuschia Force accents are heavily in the mix as well popping up as splatters on the black paneling, lining and outsole.
This pair feels as retro as they come but you won’t be able to get your blast from the past until the future. Retailers like Finish Line will have them on Aug. 23 and luckily the future isn’t too far off at all.

Listen to Newcomer Tangina Stone's Debut 'Cops'
Get used to the name Tangina Stone. The Brooklyn by-way-of-Ohio singer-songwriter’s music combines elements of pop, R&B, reggae, rock, soul music and even punk — creating an eclectic soundscape to accompany her strong vocals and penetrating lyrics. Trust us when we say you’ll be hearing a lot about this up-and-comer in the near future.
Don’t let the song’s title fool you, ‘Cops,’ the debut single from her upcoming EP ‘The Fall,’ isn’t a meditation on current events as much as a tale of love gone wrong and a jealous lover who became abusive and wound up facing the consequences of his actions.
Her voice and words are powerful and her passion is palpable as she sings “Since you thought you could get violent/ you’re in a padded room of silence and that’s why I called the cops …” to her former lover. But don’t just take our word for it. Give ‘Cops’ a listen below and you’ll anticipate the Sept. 1 release date of her ‘Fall’ EP as much as we do.

So how does all of that relate to audio accessories? Who cares.
Meanwhile, MTV has confirmed that the pop trifecta will open the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards with their explosive hit song. The awards ceremony will air live from the Forum in Los Angeles at 9PM ET.
Bang, bang, indeed.

Blood Orange Speaks on Scene in Ferguson and Police Brutality [VIDEO]
If there’s anyone who has recently experienced some issues with the police, it’s Blood Orange, also known as producer and singer Dev Hynes.
After news broke that he was allegedly attacked by security at Lollapalooza a few weeks ago, the British-bred, New York-based artist has since been pretty vocal about his feelings toward the “abuse of power.”
When he played at Summerstage in New York City over the weekend, Okayplayer caught up with him to talk about his thoughts on what’s currently going in Ferguson, Mo. “I got a friend in Ferguson doing all that craziness this week,” he tells Okayplayer. “And he’s like shook up from it. I mean the photos are like, it doesn’t even seem real.”
Blood Orange shares his views on police brutality while onstage. “From my alleged attack at Lollapalooza,” Hynes explains to the crowd as he shows off the brace around his leg. “I don’t mean to take it there but it’s starting to f—ing hurt. And I just want to dance.”
Despite what happened to him at Lollapalooza and the continuous standoff in Ferguson, one thing is clear to Hynes: it’s far from over.
“There is no quick fix, and there is no solution,” he says. “And that, for me, is the most upsetting thing. Because you can riot and you can speak onstage or tweet or sign petitions, but petition doesn’t change some random d–k cop’s opinion of the world.”
See the rest of Hynes’ interview with Okayplayer above.

Are Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Separating?
The New York Post has no chill. After posting umpteenth stories about Beyonce and Jay Z’s purported crumbling marriage, it looks like Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are next.
The newspaper reports that Mimi and Nick are headed to splitsville. Apparently, the couple are “living separately” because they’ve been arguing a lot lately.
“[Cannon] hasn’t been staying at their home,” said an insider. “He’s been living out of hotels. They’re fighting a lot.”
Another source told the newspaper that Carey suspects Cannon of infidelity. So much so, that the R&B singer hired a security guard to look after her hubby while he was hosting parties in Las Vegas earlier this year. “The security guard wasn’t there to keep the girls away from him. It was to keep him away from the girls,” said the source.
Carey also didn’t want Cannon drinking while at his Vegas gigs because she felt he “gets in trouble when he drinks,” the source added.
Carey and Cannon have been married for six years and are the proud parents of three-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
A rep for Carey had no comment on the matter.
In the meantime, the ‘#Beautiful’ singer is heading overseas to launch her The Elusive Chanteuse Show in Japan. The trek kicks off Oct. 4 in Tokyo and continues across Asia before wrapping up on Oct. 28 in Manila, Philippines. U.S. dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
James Brown's Band Members Wonder Why They Weren't Consulted for 'Get On Up'
The James Brown biopic ‘Get On Up’ is a hit with critics and has performed respectably at the box office. But how do the events depicted in the film square against the memories of Brown’s former band members?
Saxophonist Maceo Parker and trumpeter Joe Collier, both of whom served lengthy stints in Brown’s crew, shared their thoughts on the film during a recent interview with the New Pittsburgh Courier. Parker essentially summed up the reactions of both men, saying, “It was a movie. What can you say? It had a Hollywood feel to it; therefore it served its role. I must say it was good.”
That being said, neither Parker nor Collier were consulted for the film, and they both seem confused as to the reasons why. “Maybe they were afraid to pay us some type of consulting fee or something. I have no idea. I just know I was never contacted,” shrugged Parker. “It’s not like I can’t be reached.”
While the musicians may have missed out on consulting fees, they insist the audience was deprived of something, too: essential details. “There are just so many nuances that he did that only his musicians would really know about — even down to his shoes. In the movie, I noticed he wore regular shoes. Band members know he typically wore ankle-high dress-boots,” offered Collier, while Parker made it clear that his on-screen counterpart uttered a few phrases that the real Maceo would never repeat: “In reality, I never swore — and still don’t.”
Other key members of Brown’s entourage were eliminated entirely, like Danny Ray, known as the Cape Man for his stock in trade of laying a cape on the physically exhausted Godfather of Soul at the end of his marathon performances. “I’ve been getting asked about that a lot lately, but, it’s nothing I can control,” Ray answered diplomatically when asked about his omission. “I don’t have any regrets about not being in the film — but I do wish they would’ve contacted me for my input.”
Still, whatever its flaws, each of the musicians interviewed stressed one thing: more than anything, they’re glad James Brown’s incredible life was turned into a movie. “Frankly, I’m thrilled about the whole thing. It was a great movie. It gives people a chance to see Mr. Brown as a person,” argued singer Tony Howard. “It was his powerful music that helped make this movie. People were dancing and nodding in their seats. You couldn’t help it. I’d have to give it a 12 out of 10.”
Jordan Spizike iD 'Denim'
With the return of the Jordan Spizike OG recently it seems like Nike is now looking for ways to top one of the model’s most iconic colorways. The immediate answer to this quandary is to just let consumers design their own in Nike iD with even more options.
The denim option recently popped up and the results are pretty impressive to say the least. You can now cover the entire sneaker in the acid washed cloth and based on the sample image that Nike cooked up to promote the option a gum bottom really makes these things ring off.
The denim option opened up today on Nike iD so if you are slacking off at work today here is a time killer that won’t necessarily kill your wallet. Don’t let your boss catch you though.
