Nicki Minaj on Iggy Azalea, Explains "Shady" Speech on Twitter (@nickiminaj, @iggyazalea)

Since the BET Awards aired this past Sunday, several media outlets have covered Nicki Minaj's "shady" acceptance speech, with several reporting that she was taking shots at Iggy Azalea, accusing the first lady of Grand Hustle of having a ghostwriter.

Nicki took to Twitter this morning to address the controversy and explain exactly why she chose to call out rappers who don't write their own bars, particularly female MC's.

Minaj started off by saying that the media put words in her mouth and that the speech was about encouraging women writers, and that she loves women like Lauryn Hill & Missy Elliott because she knows they write their own material.

She then says that she's congratulated Iggy on her success publicly before, and that she should be very proud of herself, but that she will continue to motivate women to write.

Check out the tweets above. Did the media put words in her mouth about Iggy or is this a PR move? Sound off below.

Ariana Grande's hit single "Problem" featuring Iggy Azalea has made Billboard history and help gain the singer her first number hit, but the singer was unsure about the song when she recorded it.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, the singer says she forgot about the song and didn't think it would do well.

"I had no idea "Problem" was going to be on the album," she said. "Until I heard the final mix of the song, I forgot about it for a little and I didn't hear it until it was done and mastered and it was a different moment. I was like 'Oh, maybe I was wrong about that one.'"

"Problem" may be a big hit for the singer, but her collaboration with Big Sean is her favorite.

"I did another song with one of my best friends Big Sean," she said. "It's called "My Biggest Mistake" and it's one of my faves."

Watch Andre 3000 As Jimi Hendrix In 'All Is By My Side' Trailer

Pragmatic fans know better than to hold their breath for a new OutKast album, but one thing we can look forward to is Andre 3000‘s lead role as Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming biopic, ‘Jimi: All Is By My Side.’

If you watched the brief snippet from the movie that surfaced earlier this year, you’ll know 3 Stacks absolutely nails his portrayal of the legendary rockstar — from his eccentric style right down to his quaint, wavering voice. But just in case you need anymore convincing, the official movie trailer is finally here.

Directed by John Ridley (Oscar-winning screenwriter for ’12 Years a Slave’), ‘All Is By My Side’ chronicles Hendrix’s rise to fame in London during 1966-67, with Benjamin delivering stunning reenactments of his storied performances and insightful television interviews.

The movie also takes an intimate look at the late guitarist’s personal life, with Hayley Atwell playing the apple of his eye, Kathy Etchingham, and Imogen Poots starring as Linda Keith, Keith Richards’ ex-girlfriend who was instrumental in the launch of Hendrix’s career.

‘Jimi: All Is By My Side’ hits theaters on Sept. 26. Watch the trailer above.

Lupe Fiasco Talks Being a Pioneer for Skateboarding in Hip Hop (@LupeFiasco)

As Lupe Fiasco prepares for his new album, Testuo & Youth, the rapper chatted with DJ Skee about his new album, the backlash from his first single, "Kick & Push," and why he's an important role in hip hop embracing the skateboard culture.

"There was some very insecure skaters" he said. "Tony Hawk not being one of them, fortunately, who just felt like I was trying to encroach on their territory when I really did the song as a tribute for a skate shop,"

He also explained that the song was never meant to be a single, but loved its ripple effect for people like Lil Wayne to have an interest in the culture.

"It was never 'posed to be a single, never meant to be a single," he said.

"It was for a skate shop called Uprise for a skate DVD and then it just took a life of its own...But when you're the first through the wall, you always get a little bloody. Then it paves the way for the Lil Wayne's and the other people to kind of come in and capitalize on the culture even 10 times more than I did. From there all the way up until now, I always try and make things that I'm personally attached to, that have a personal vibration with me that I feel are real and honest and wherever that takes me. So whether that's skateboarding or having a grandmother that passed away from cancer and homies that are fighting it right now to make a song like 'Mission,' it's all in the same boat."

He also chatted about almost signing to Roc-A-Fella Records, and why he's cut down the amount of records on his new album.

Robin Thicke Says He Hasn't Seen His Wife In Four Months [VIDEO]

Despite Robin Thicke‘s pleas of forgiveness and the release of his apology album, ‘Paula,’ it appears that his marriage to Paula Patton is no more. Since their separation, Thicke has revealed that he hasn’t seen his estranged wife in four months.

The ‘Get Her Back’ singer appeared on Hot 97′s Ebro in the Morning to promote his new album and talk about the choices he made that led to the dissolution of his marriage.

“I try to keep most of that private, but, I haven’t seen her for four months,” Thicke said. “She the best girl in the world, a great mother and still a good friend. But I also want to wish her well and let her know that she’s a great person and she deserves to have a great life.”

The 38-year-old crooner admitted that stardom after the chart-topping success of ‘Blurred Lines’ led to some poor decisions on his part, which eventually ruined his marriage.

“Last year was really just kind of a blur in many ways, no pun intended,” he said. “Everything happened so fast and you don’t realize all the things that come with it. At this point in our relationship, the only reason we’re not together is because of the choices I made.”

Thicke says that Patton hasn’t heard the album and doesn’t think it will bring her back to him.

“She hasn’t heard it,” he said. “She’s only heard a few songs. And I don’t think she wants to hear it right now. I can’t speak for her, but I think space is an important part of any healing process.”

So what was the cause of Thicke and Patton’s break up after 20 years of being together?

“[Cheating] is not why we’re apart,” he states. “We’re apart because we just couldn’t be together anymore for a while. There’s a hundred different reasons, there isn’t just one. There’s a long list. I changed, and I got a little too selfish, a little too greedy, and little too full of myself.”

In the end, Thicke says ‘Paula’ is his self-help guide to becoming a better person.

“My music is my therapy,” he says. “When I make these songs and I listen back to them, they make me feel good about myself because at least I’m admitting my faults and trying to become a better man, better person, better father.”

Wiz Khalifa Taps Rick Ross, ScHoolboy Q, Nas For New 'We Dem Boyz' Remix

Wiz Khalifa 'We Dem Boyz' RemixAtlantic

Wiz Khalifa‘s ‘We Dem Boyz’ may have split opinions when it first dropped back in February — and let’s be honest, it’s one of the most contrived songs of recent memory — but it’s quickly becoming a contender for record of the year (in the clubs, anyway).

The Detail-produced banger has already caught the ear of Diddy — excuse me, Puff Daddy — Meek Mill and French Montana, who dropped their own version, complete with a typically rockstar-level video. But here goes the second and official ‘We Dem Boyz’ remix, featuring another star-studded trio of Rick Ross, ScHoolboy Q and Nas.

Unlike Puffy, Meek and French’s makeover, this latest update boasts a whole new beat, courtesy of Sledgren, Ricky P and RMB Justize. The three producers cook up a heavily-baked vibe complete with snail-paced synths and thumping 808s, transforming Wiz’s ‘Blacc Hollywood’ single from a club heater into an airy smokers’ anthem.

Accordingly, the Taylor Gang general smooths out his hook (which will most definitely give you a contact high), while his supporting cast deliver distinctive verses: Rozay huffing out heartless boasts; Q sharing his rags-to-riches story with a snarl; Esco stealing the show with his expert wordplay and effortless delivery. In fact, this might be Nas’ best verse since ‘Life Is Good.’

Wiz Khalifa went on Twitter to celebrate the release of ‘We Dem Boyz’ remix. He tweeted:

Happy 4th!
