Karrueche Tran Sheds Tears Over Chris Brown on Iyanla Vanzant's 'Fix My Life': 'The Man I Loved Hurt Me and Betrayed Me' [VIDEO]

Karrueche Tran‘s name has been thrust into the spotlight — for better or for worse — due to her relationship with R&B singer Chris Brown. Now she’s addressing the hurt and betrayal she feels with Iyanla Vanzant on her OWN reality show, Fix My Life , on Saturday night (March 28).

Having dated Brown for the last five years, their relationship has been far from sweet and has involved numerous breakups and public spats. But when it was revealed that her beau fathered a secret love child, she decided enough was enough and washed her hands of the situation, essentially ending the romance once and for all. So when news of Tran appearing on Fix My Life, came to the light, more than a few people were intrigued as to what the usually reserved model would say.

The sit-down took place in Tran’s home in Los Angeles. The chat between the two was pretty pleasant and saw the usually aggressive Vanzant using kid gloves on the 26-year-old and she treads lightly in terms of questions that were asked.

As for her reasons for appearing on the show, Tran makes it clear it is no cry for attention, but to set the record straight. “I want my voice to be heard. For a long time, I kept it very mute, just because it’s the way I prefer it. But I think there’s a lot of misconceptions about me,” she says.

Iyanla asked about the origins of Tran’s relationship with Brown and when they had their first date, which took place at popular hot-spot Norm’s in L.A.

When asked how CB broke her heart, Tran responds by saying her pain came “from betrayal, lying and cheating.” She also admits to feeling embarrassed about it, mainly because the “embarrassment is for the world to see. So most definitely I’m embarrassed.”

After admitting she still loves Chris Brown, Tran’s manager stops the interview because he doesn’t like the direction Vanzant is taking the conversation. Tran reiterates her main objective is to let the public know she is a “loving, caring person and that she’s human.”

Of course the interview wouldn’t be complete without Vanzant brining up Rihanna, whom Brown was linked to during his relationship with Tran. The latter admits to knowing about her former boyfriend keeping in touch with his ex, but she thought nothing of it because she was “under the impression that it was a friend type of relation.” However, she admits that she knew, but “didn’t want to believe it. Tran then tears up before regaining her composure.

Other topics include Brown not wanting to get married, which Tran chalks up to his maturity and lifestyle, as well as how long she made CB wait until they had sex, which was “a month and-a-half to two months” by her estimation.

She also confirms that she found out about Chris Brown’s love child from social media, but did offer that he sent her a text saying that they needed to talk before actually seeing the headlines. When Vanzant asks if she’s spoken to Brown since, Tran says “he’s said he’s sorry, dropped flowers off,” but admits there’s no room for reconciliation at the moment. “There’s no making up right now, I’m trying to be my strongest and I know what he’s put me through,” Tran shares.

The interview is very interesting to say the least and is sure to get more than a few fans buzzing about the gems that were dropped during this very real conversation. Watch Karrueche Tran break down while discussing her relationship with Chris Brown below.

Rapper Fabolous returns with the fourth installment of his popular #FridayNightFreestyles series. This time the veteran wordsmith spits some clever rhymes over Mobb Deep’s classic song “Shook Ones Part II” from their 1995 album Infamous.

Along with DJ Clue dropping echoic ad-libs, Fabo raps rewindable punchlines and braggadocios lyrics.

“There’s a difference in getting money and got money / I’m just a winner with a pocket full of pot money / I ain’t judging baby, go on and get that thot money / Better save it for a rainy day when it’s not sunny,” he spits.

Near the end, the Brooklyn rhymer closes with a clever reference to Damon Dash’s infamous “I’m a boss” interview with Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club.

“I’ll give it to you n—-s on some AIM blast shit / Then give it to your sons on some Dame Dash s—, boy / You n—-s ain’t bosses anyway / A nine-to-five beat a 10-to-life any day / Get your money,” he raps.

Damon Dash, who is currently a hilarious hashtag meme on Twitter, is interested in being a boss behind online retailer Karmaloop. FADER is reporting that Dame and his good friend, Kanye West, are among several people looking to buy the bankrupted Karmaloop.

The former Roc-A-Fella Records CEO went on Instagram and confirmed the news that he wants to take over the business. Dame posted a video with ‘Ye with the caption, “Generations of real fighters sticking together for the whole world to see…this was always the plan but s— is real and where not doing any bubble gum s— and I hope the whole world sees this and wants to do the same thing…stay tuned.”

“Honorable people stick together,” added Dame. “Now he’s super famous and we’re linking up. We decided to go buy Karmaloop. We just talked about it so it’s going to happen.”

There’s no word on how much the purchasing price is for Karmaloop. The online clothing store is reportedly $100 million in debt and filed for bankruptcy last week.

This latest news comes after Dame caused a stir on social media over his comments made during an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club . Some fans felt that the former rap mogul was condemning people who worked nine-to-five jobs. However, Dame says that his remarks were misconstrued.

“I was saying if you have a job, you have to pay the bills, but that pays the bills momentarily,” he explained. “So if you have a job, in that moment, you should also be investing in something that you can pass on to your children.”

“I said [to The Breakfast Club hosts], ‘I’m not mad at you for having a job. I’m mad at you for having the same job for 25 years,’” he added.

Study Finds Over Half of Hip-Hop Deaths Due to Murder

Tupac ShakurRaymond Boyd, Getty Images

While there are still many unsolved details surrounding Tupac Shakur‘s murder in 1996, a new study has found that the late California rapper is part of a bigger statistic regarding the deaths of hip-hop artists.

Dianna Theadora Kenny, a professor of psychology and music at the University of Sydney, studied the deaths of 13,000 music artists across all genres to find whether or not there is a link between an artist’s cause of death and the musical genre he or she is associated with. After conducting her research, she found that more than 50 percent of deaths in the hip-hop and rap genres were due to homicide.

“Murder accounted for 6.0 percent of deaths across the sample, but was the cause of 51 percent of deaths in rap musicians and 51.5 percent of deaths for hip hop musicians, to date,” Kenny wrote in her article entitled, “Music to die for: how genre affects popular musicians’ life expectancy.” “This could be due to these genres’ strong associations with drug-related crime and gang culture.”

Despite these distressing stats, she doesn’t mean that hip-hop and rap, which she puts in two different categories in the study, are two of the more dangerous genres of music. Her intentions are to point out what led to many of these artists’ deaths and what the patterns are. For instance, R&B artists’ predominant cause of death is related to heart health issues while more folk and jazz musicians died of cancer.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Kenny said, “It’s a cautionary tale to some degree. People who go into rap music or hip hop or punk, they’re in a much more occupational hazard profession compared to war. We don’t lose half our army in a battle.”

The happenings in Austin, Texas for the annual SXSW Music Conference and Festival had all eyes pointed in that direction, but a few artists made sure to provide us with some new tunes throughout the past seven days, most of which were not too shabby if you ask us.

With the first quarter of 2015 coming to a close, we can honestly say that the music is only getting better and better and is sure to improve even more the further we get into the year. After last week’s killer lineup, these three songs are a mixed bag of sorts, featuring the likes of media darling Wale to underground stalwarts Consequence and Earl Sweatshirt, but all of which are definitely worthy of infiltrating your eardrums.

We present the latest edition of Songs of the Week. Did your favorite new release make the cut? Take a listen below.

"Warlord Leather"

Earl Sweatshirt & Action Bronson

Action Bronson and Early Sweatshirt have both been off to an amazing start in 2015, with both dropping album's and bringing their no-frills brand of rapping to the forefront. The two wordsmiths connect on this Alchemist produced banger, "Warlord Leather," and do what they do best: let off a barrage of high-quality bars to get your rewind button.

If you haven't yet, be sure to check out Bronson's Mr. Wonderful LP and Earl Sweatshirt's I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside and treat yourself to copious amounts of lyricism.

"Tuck Your Release"

Consequence

With nearly twenty years worth of grinding and navigating through the rap game, it's amazing how Consequence can continuously come with it on a track, but the Queens vet does just that with his latest offering, "Tuck Your Release." Rapping "I'm dressed for success, but The Glam squad, the hell with that / Told me stress wouldn't really go well with that," Cons goes for the gusto on this selection, co-produced by Mike Cash and the rapper himself.
