Kanye West Claims to Be 'Smartest Celebrity,' Reveals Father's Occupation During Deposition
When Kanye West had to share his side of the story regarding the assault of photographer Daniel Ramos at Los Angeles International Airport in 2013 this week, he revealed a surprising truth and made some bold claims during a deposition.
TMZ reports that the rapper opened up about his dad’s occupation during the testimony. “My father was a paparazzo himself,” Kanye told Ramos’ lawyer.
West also mentioned that he wasn’t raised to “be out here wrestling with random paparazzi in front of LAX.”
In July 2013, the G.O.O.D. Music leader was seen not only taking Ramos’ camera equipment away from him but also lunging at the paparazzi photographer. After the incident, Ramos’ lawyer claims that he sustained injuries including one to his hip. West initially pleaded not guilty but then changed his plea to no contest to misdemeanor battery. This then led to a civil suit, and now the rhymer is in the middle of a deposition hearing.
While it seems that he was cool and collected during the deposition, West’s mouth got the best of him (again) and he accused Ramos of asking him “dumb s—.” He then listed all the odd jobs his father did in addition to being a celebrity photographer and eventually called himself “the smartest celebrity you’ve ever f—ing dealt with.”
We can only imagine how he looked to everyone in the room after making that comment.

LL Cool J, Treach Perform Rap Shows at Rikers Island to Stop Violence
In an effort to keep the violence down, Rikers Island officials treat inmates to rap concerts as a reward for good behavior.
An insider told the NYPost that these shows help keep prisoners from “stabbing each other” and boost morale. “It takes their mind off other things,” said the source.
Rappers like LL Cool J and Naughty By Nature rapper Treach have performed concerts at the prison. The shows have been kept under the radar by the Department of Correction.
In July, a group of young prisoners received a visit from LL and Russell Simmons. Both encouraged them to stay positive and focused on their goals.
“You can absolutely without a doubt do anything you put your mind to,” said LL.
“It’s your spirit you’ve got to work on,” added Simmons.
Treach also performed at Rikers earlier this year.
A rep for the Department of Correction says that rappers volunteer their services in an effort to give prisoners some encouragement.
“The Department of Correction uses positive reinforcement as one of many strategies to reduce inmate idleness and improve facility safety,” said the rep. “Their appearances are geared toward violence reduction and inmates who attend these events do so as a reward for good behavior.”
