It’s safe to say that Damon Dash and the media don’t get along. After battling with attorneys on the stand in a civil case, he lashed out at reporters outside of the courthouse last week.
The Roc-A-Fella founder is being sued by Linda Williams, the mother of one of his children, for $1 million. The case stems from a 2009 incident in which Dash had Williams arrested allegedly under false pretense. The pair has had an ongoing custody battle over their son, Damon Dash II, who is now 17 years old.
During the trial, Dash was leering at two female reporters in the courtroom who were covering the case before the judge admonished him for his actions.
“I can’t look? Nothing wrong with looking,” Dash shot back at the judge.
Outside of the courthouse, the 42-year-old rap mogul berated the media who he called “racists” for their biased reporting of him.
“Why don’t they ever write good stories about black men?” he asked a New York Daily News reporter. “Because you are a Republican racist newspaper.”
Dash is obviously referring to the paper’s unflattering stories about his financial troubles.
After arguing with reporters for two whole blocks, he ended it with, “All I care about is how good I look. Later.”
Dash also posted a photo on Instagram of him and his legal team. He also wrote this about the media.
“The New York post and daily news are some racist motherf—ers they always try to make a black man look crazy unless he is a corporate puppet….I’ll show you the scumbag writers after they put this stupid story up…so much court for nothing.”
