Waka Flocka Flame debuts his new trap anthem ‘Slippin,’ produced by Mike WiLL Made It.
The song is a mixture of the rapper’s original style of tough-talking trap music, but also shows a more lyrically dexterous Waka. He raps much more frantically and uses a faster cadence, spitting rhymes centered on just what the title suggests: don’t let Waka catch you slippin’.
And Mike WiLL Made It does a stellar job of creating a grandiose beat — easily digestable by the trap-rap lovers and even those rap fans who don’t particularly care for the sub-genre.
“Got stripes in the streets like a referee / Have a n—- runnin’ like a refugee / Show you how to rob got the recipe / Do your homework find out where he be at / Where he hide the money, put the d at / Run up in your s—, we gon’ seize that,” the southern rhymer spits.
There’s a good chance ‘Slippin’ will appear on the dreadlocked rapper’s ‘Flockaveli 2′ album, set for release later this year. If that’s the case, it’s a pretty good start for a project that a lot of people have been waiting for.
