The Dipset wave fizzled out a bit after the rappers delivered the 2014 standout ‘Dips—s’ back in May. But now we have a Dipset mixtape to look forward to and that anticipation has increased with ‘Have My Money.’ Funkmaster Flex debuted the new jam on Hot 97 last night (Dec. 5).
Instead of A-Trak, Vinny Idol is behind the boards for a beat that favors saxophone smoothness over an anthemic sound. It’s clear once again that this is Dipset’s type of beat as the quotables (“I ain’t talkin’ ’bout music when I said I did s— with Mariah.” Shoutouts to Meek Mill) come in numbers. The Harlem, N.Y.-bred team are all about the money here.
“I was selling coke, no joke, no cola / Just made a quarter mill off Ebola, what’s up,” Cam’ron raps as he opens the track. “Still do Harlem in my flip flops, summertime, hopping out the ‘Rari with the missing top,” Jim Jones serves.
‘Have My Money’ will land on the upcoming Dipset mixtape, which is coming later this year and will feature Cam, Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey.
