Wale has a new mixtape on the way, ‘Festivus,’ and before the effort arrives, the rapper is offering a song that won’t appear on the project, ‘Miracle on U Street.’
The track is an obvious play on the classic holiday film ‘Miracle on 34th Street.’ The MMG rapper delivers precise, fiery lyrics over a fast-paced go-go beat.
“My percussion a loud level / Yeah, that of which a lot of n—-s cannot handle / Who got this year popping / Shawty the Kerry Washington for so long, they probably cried ‘Scandal’ / St. Laurent that’s just to make it rhyme, yeah / Richie Paul my No. 8 LeBron / All this Balmain I have yet to wear / F— your whole label these songs may be a label whore,” he raps over busy drums and live instrumentation.
Based on the title of the song, it appears the Washington, D.C. rapper just wanted to bless the streets with something for Christmas.
As far as upcoming shows, Wale will be at the Fillmore, in Silver Spring, Md., on Jan. 1, 2015, then he’ll head to Philadelphia on Jan. 9, followed by Irving Plaza in New York City on Jan. 10.
