Detroit rapper Dej Loaf has inked a deal with Columbia Records.
According to a report by HITS Daily Double, Columbia Records is servicing Dej Loaf’s breakthrough single, ‘Try Me,’ to radio and the song will be added into rotation on Oct. 28.
It appears the success of ‘Try Me’ has earned Dej Loaf a major label deal as her single became a viral hit due to endorsements from industry giants like Drake and Wiz Khalifa. The track has been heavily remixed by a variety of artists while Def Loaf just released a video for the single last month.
For now, neither Dej Loaf nor Columbia Records are confirming that she’s been signed to the label. But, both sides are not denying the report either. “Columbia Records has not issued a release or commented either way,” said Columbia in a statement given to The Fader.
The BoomBox will keep you updated once more information on the signing is confirmed. In the meantime, vote for Dej Loaf’s ‘Try Me’ in The Boombox Battle below. This week, she competes with Chicago’s own Lil Durk, who remixes her track. Voting closes on Oct. 21.
