After Common’s powerful performance at the 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards, he’s ready to take his act on the road. The Chicago wordsmith announced dates for his Nobody’s Smiling tour with special guest Jay Electronica.
The 13-city North American jaunt rolls out on Nov. 21 in Las Vegas and will hit major cities like Los Angeles, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta and Philadelphia before the journey ends in New York on Dec. 10.
Common is touring in support of his latest effort ‘Nobody’s Smiling,’ which boasts the single ‘Kingdom’ featuring Vince Staples. Despite not releasing an official album, Jay Elect will rock the mic as well. This will give fans an opportunity to see the elusive rhymer perform onstage. Overall, this is going to be one rap tour you don’t want to miss.
“I’m excited to be touring because I haven’t in several years and to be doing it with an album like ‘Nobody’s Smiling’ is giving me a chance to perform the hip-hop that I love,” said Common. “To have Jay Electronica on this tour is crazy. He is one of the freshest voices in hip-hop today. He truly is sparking the culture.”
True indeed.
