Rihanna‘s former accountant is not happy with the singer’s allegations that she lost millions on his watch. After being sued by RiRi, accountant Peter Gounis has filed a response to her lawsuit and blasts the entertainer for her own lavish spending habits.
Gounis claims Rihanna spent millions on shopping sprees and extravagant parties, TMZ reports. He also says that the ‘Diamonds’ creator lost money when she bailed out on a tour to shoot the movie ‘Battleship.’ Contradictory to Rihanna’s allegations, he says he never told her to buy a house that ended up being a money pit.
“Was it really necessary to tell her that if you spend money for things you will end up with the things, and not the money?” he asks.
Rihanna, 26, claims that she was “effectively bankrupt” in 2009, because of the ill financial advice she was given. According to TMZ, the superstar was worth $11 million in the beginning of 2009. She bought a house worth $7 million upon the approval of her accountant. With $2 million left, her expenses doubled by the end of the year.
Gounis wants the lawsuit thrown out.
