A day after releasing the song “American Oxygen,” Rihanna premieres the video on — you guessed it — Jay Z’s new streaming service TIDAL.
The powerful visual, directed by Darren Craig, features imagery of some of the most historic and violent protests in American history, including the Selma to Montgomery marches to the L.A. Riots to the Black Lives Matter protest in Ferguson, Mo. Mixed in with those clips, we see RiRi performing in front of an American flag as images of historic and tragic moments in history like 9/11, Apollo 11 1969 Moon Landing, Hurricane Katrina, President Obama’s inauguration and so much more flashes across the screen.
Overall, this is a very patriotic video from the R&B superstar. Watch it now while it’s still available to the public.
If you want to watch a better quality of the video sign up for a TIDAL account. The service’s monthly subscriptions run $9.99 a month (or $19.99 a month for the premium subscription), but you can sign up for a free 30-day trial.
