It’s been a minute since DMX has gotten into any real trouble but it appears the rapper got caught up in some criminal activity. Police are currently investigating a report that Darkman X allegedly robbed a man at a gas station in Newark, N.J., on Sunday (April 5).
According to NJ.com, the 21-year-old victim alleges that shortly after midnight, he spotted DMX and his entourage at an Exxon gas station and struck up a conversation with him. During their conversation, a male in DMX’s entourage brandished a weapon and demanded the victim’s money.
According to Newark police spokesman Sgt. Ronald Glover, the victim handed over $3,200 in cash from his pocket and DMX allegedly “snatched the money out of his hand” before jumping into one of four black Cadillac Escalades that left the scene. The victim was able to follow behind the convoy on the highway and make out one of the SUV’s license plates.
Police are still investigating the case and have made no arrests as of yet.
Apparently, the 44-year-old rhymer was in the area Saturday night (April 4) as he was scheduled to perform at the Master of Ceremony concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The show featured headlining acts Rakim, Mobb Deep, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD and many others.
DMX tweeted this to his followers after the show.
Reps for DMX had no comment on the criminal matter.
