Dawn Richard isn’t the only former Danity Kane member that’s keeping it moving. Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex are making new music too and they’ve joined together to form Dumblonde. O’day sent a tweet yesterday (March 30) announcing the new group.
“Today begins a new chapter. Thank you for always standing by us. This new project is for u,” she wrote.
The announcement comes several months after Danity Kane had a brawl in the studio. Aubrey released this statement shortly after the group disbanded:
“During a recent group meeting, a business conversation took a turn for the worst, when my group member punched me in the back of my head while I was speaking to another associate,” she wrote in a statement. “Disagreements happen but a war of words and ideas should never end in physical aggression.”
Richards released a statement of her own.
“I am sorry to everyone that this news has to come out,” she wrote. “You’re worth more. Certain choices were made that I am not proud of. However, I will not be disrespected. Once again, I am sorry to the fans as this should have been handled privately, not publicly.”
According to TMZ, Dumblonde will be going the EDM route, not doing R&B or traditional pop, and at this time there’s no word on when a first single will be released.
So if you’re keeping track, Dawn Richards just released a solo album titled Blackheart. Other Danity Kane member, Aundrea Fimbres, quit showbiz to raise a family, which leaves only one final question.
What on earth is popping with D. Woods?
