The amount of vitriol Iggy Azalea suffered over the past few months basically made this year’s Best Rap Album category at the Grammy Awards ‘The New Classic’ vs. Everybody Else. The latter took home the prize — Eminem to be specific.
The rapper’s ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2′ took the coveted trophy, making this the his sixth win in the category. His most recent solo project earned the most acclaim since his return from a mid-2000s hiatus. When released in November of 2013, ‘MM LP2′ pushed units like all of Eminem’s solo albums. After selling over 792,000 copies in its first week, the album quickly went platinum.
Eminem also won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for ‘The Monster’ featuring Rihanna. Like their prior single, ‘Love the Way You Lie,’ ‘The Monster’ climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
