With the 2015 Grammy Awards right around the corner, artists are chiming in on one of the most highly-anticipated categories of the night: Best Rap Album.

The category, which is one of the most coveted awards in hip-hop, features Iggy Azalea, Common, Childish Gambino, Eminem, Schoolboy Q and Wiz Khalifa vying for the gold symbol of excellence.

For Big K.R.I.T., his choice for the winner is clear. “I wouldn’t mind seeing the homie Wiz get a Grammy or Common. Either one of them would be dope to see them get a Grammy,” the rapper tells The Boombox.

Krizzle and Wiz go way back — to the Taylor Gang leader’s Wake and Bake tour. The Mississippi rhymer credits Wiz for being one of the first rappers to tour and promote his own mixtapes.

“A lot of people don’t credit Wiz, but he really cranked up the “I’m going to tour off my mixtape movement” back in 2010,” The ‘Cadillactica’ rhymer said. “He was one of the first people to really start doing that hard-body. Then it was Curren$y, me, then Smoke DZA.”

Although K.R.I.T. is in his corner, Wiz has some stiff competition for Best Rap Album. Iggy’s ‘The New Classic’ boasted the No.1 chart-topping summer banger ‘Fancy.’ Childish Gambino’s sophomore album, ‘Because the Internet’ was critically acclaimed. ‘Nobody’s Smiling’ featured arguably some of Common’s best work to date. Schoolboy Q’s well-crafted lyricism and vulnerability was delivered on ‘Oxymoron’ and Eminem is going for his fifth Best Rap Album Grammy with ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2.’

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will air on CBS Feb. 8, starting at 5PM EST at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Who do you you want to win the award for Best Rap Album? Let us know in the comments below.
