Adrien Brody is known for being an actor but he also makes beats. While promoting his new TV film ‘Houdini’ on ‘Sway in the Morning,’ the Oscar-winning actor displayed his beat-making skills with Souls of Mischief.
Over a myriad of different beats, the Hieroglyphics crew spit crazy freestyles off the top of the head. Brody even received props from his idol, DJ Premier, who was listening to the cipher on the phone.
Later, Opio deliver a fresh freestyle over Brody’s oriental-sounding beat with orgasmic yelps. Finally, the actor played a beat with a downing piano groove and another that sounded like it came from the chambers of the RZA.
Meanwhile, Souls of Mischief dropped a new album ‘There Is Only Now’ earlier this week. The project was produced by Adrian Younge, whose songs have been sampled by Jay Z (‘Picasso Baby’).
If you love great lyricism over jazz-hop beats then Hiero’s album is for you. You can cop the collection right now via iTunes.
