Migos’ infectious song ‘Versace’ is all the proof you need to understand the impact a Drake verse can have on hip-hop. After basically tucking everyone’s summer in (word to Kanye) with one remix last year, Aubrey has been rumored to work his magic on a number of potential hits in 2014, but for reasons unknown, didn’t show. First there was Lil Herb and Lil Bibby’s ‘My Hood,’ then Young Thug’s ‘Eww Eww Eww,’ and now Casey Veggies‘ ‘The Boy.’
Sure, a hot 16 from Drizzy would have been nice (like, really nice), but the West Coast youngster does just fine on his own his latest single. With swag-soaked yet fairly straightforward boasts like, “These girls love the boy and I love them, too / They f—ing with the boy and I’m f—ing with them, too,” Mr. Peas N Carrots supplies the soundtrack for all the 20-somethings out there who are ridin’ round and gettin’ it.
The belly-dropping production comes courtesy of HS87′s Hit-Boy, Rey Reel and Hazebanga, who also laced Casey with that heat on last year’s ‘Fresh Veggies’ EP with Rockie Fresh. No word on when Veggies’ long-awaited debut album will arrive — or if this track will appear on it — but in the meantime, enjoy ‘The Boy’ below.
