If you’re two of the biggest entertainers in the world, how would you put on an mesmerizing show together? Superstar couple Jay Z and Beyonce answer that question by releasing the rehearsal footage for their On the Run tour.
The nearly three minute visual, directed by Scheme Engine and executive produced by Roc Nation, begins with Queen B standing onstage trying to hit her mark — Hov does the same.
Next, everyone who’s involved with the tour sits down for a meeting and pep talk, given by one of the tour’s organizers. “We just wanted to take the time to talk to everybody,” says a male voice. “We look at this as one family, one crew, one band.”
After that there’s a series of quick edits that show B and Jay going over rehearsal notes, working out last minute choreography and listening to a theatrical explosion for the show for the first time.
By the looks of it, the On the Run tour could rival Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour, in terms of special effects and having a ton of visual eye-candy for the audience to devour. The first show kicked off in Miami on June 25, with more dates in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Houston, among others. There will also be a special show in Paris, France on Sept. 14.
